About the Dallas Running Club
The Dallas Running Club (“DRC” or the “Club”) was founded in 1969 as a grassroots organization dedicated to building and supporting the Dallas running community. Founder Tal Morrison started the Club by stopping runners he met around White Rock Lake, collecting their contact information, and inviting them to join him for group runs. The Dallas Running Club has remained a grassroots running club serving the Dallas running community for over 55 years. DRC hosts four club races of varying distances each year, as well as two annual half marathons. Proceeds from the half marathons help fund the Tal Morrison Scholarship, established in honor of the Club’s founder and his passion for health and fitness. The scholarship provides financial assistance to graduating students who actively participate in their school’s cross-country running programs.
While DRC races may be small, they are full of heart. DRC is a 100 percent volunteer-run organization, and its success is made possible by individuals who generously give their time to support the Dallas running community. We are glad you are here to race with us and hope you will consider volunteering in the future.

Whether you run, ruck, or hike -- we have an adventure ready for you!
Big Cedar Wilderness Trails is on the grounds of Mountain Creek Church. It is located atop one of the most breathtaking escarpment areas in North Texas. Situated on over 100 acres, our trails wind through cedar and hardwood forest and descend quickly into a valley in a dramatic elevation change. From the trails you can view iconic landmarks of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Looking westward across the Trinity valley, the view is dominated by giant AT&T Stadium, The Ball Park in Arlington, Six Flags Family Park, and even the downtown Forth Worth skyline. Cedar Hill State Park, with its hills wrapping around a big lake, is the most prominent feature to the southwest.
Our course consists of an 11.2-ish mile loop that covers multiple trails that will include Texas Sunset, SXSW, Dragonfly, Copper Head Ridge, Ranger, and Barbwire. These trails are known for their challenging terrain, with varying elevation, technical trails, and natural obstacles like rocks, roots, and dirt. Raising awareness about T1D
Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day was created 14 years ago by a group of Camp Sweeney camper parents to raise awareness for T1D, or type 1 diabetes. T1D affects 1 in 400 children and can lead to devastating medical complications such as eye disease, kidney disease, and damaged cardiovascular and nervous systems. However, proper diabetes management can greatly reduce the probability of future complications. Camp Sweeney provides these children with a motivating support system to overcome these struggles.
Raising funds for campers
Half of the children who come to Camp Sweeney need financial aid. Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day helps raise campership dollars to support those families in need. Since its inception, Play for the Day has raised over $1.15 million. This year's goal is our most ambitious yet at $200,000.
Providing community fellowship
Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day serves as Camp Sweeney's kickstart for the summer. Campers and their families can come out to meet returning and new counselors. The community to gather to have a fun family-friendly morning with activities and fellowship. It is a great way to spend Memorial Day.
Play for the Day will go on RAIN or SHINE!

What is a Splash and Dash?
A Splash and Dash is a fun and fast-growing sport that combines running and swimming. The run can take place on a trail, a road, or a path. Similarly, the swim can take place in any body of water – a pool, a reservoir, or an ocean. This USA Triathlon (USAT) Splash & Dash Youth Aquathlon Series will feature a swim(pool)/run combination.
Why Participate?
Get a chance to try out the multisport lifestyle. It will really help you to “get your feet wet!” Meet friends and other youth athletes who are interested, and also engage in the multisport lifestyle! Less equipment is required compared to that of a triathlon since a Splash and Dash (aquathlon) does not require a bike.
What is USAT?
USAT or USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the multi-sport disciplines of triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon, and winter triathlon in the United States.
What are the Youth distances?
USAT youth events are for ages 6 -15 years. There are two categories, Youth Junior and Youth Senior. See below for age groups and distances for events.

Quick Highlights of the ride:
Mandatory Safety meeting at 630am
Wheels spinning at 7 am
Our traditional BBQ lunch will be served after the ride.
Sag vehicles will follow along in case a rider needs to take a break.
Mechanics will be at each stop to fix minor bike issues.
This is a long ride that requires training. This ride is unlike any you have probably participated in before. We stay together as a group the entire time, and that requires each rider to be able to work through the gears. You can visit our page https://www.dpdcycle.com/ride-to-remember.html to see past rides to get an idea of how the ride will go. This ride is a lot of fun, but we want to be upfront with its physical demands.

From the Race Director
Thank you for your continued support of Aid Via Action, Inc. Your generosity and commitment make our mission possible. We are deeply grateful to our supporters, volunteers, and the race organizers who worked tirelessly to manage the many logistics that made this year’s event such a success.
We are pleased to announce the Fourth Annual Aid Via Action 5K Run, an event dedicated to raising funds for our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which provides surgical and medical care to underserved populations in Northern Guatemala.
At Aid Via Action, our guiding philosophy in global health is to reduce the disparities in healthcare created by geography. Through partnerships, education, and direct patient care, we strive to expand access to life-saving surgical services in regions where such care is often unavailable.
As the race date approaches, we will continue to share updates and additional information about the event. We are also excited to announce that live entertainment will be featured on the morning of the race, making this not only a run for a cause but also a celebration of community and service.
I look forward to seeing you there, and thank you again for supporting our mission.
Sincerely,
Sergio Huerta, MD
Race Director

More people are seeing our vision. A Dallas where there is mental health parity and equal access to quality mental health treatment regardless of demographics, ethnicity, geography, or socioeconomic status.
It's not how far we walk at BTGWalk, but how far we've come to removing the barriers to accessing mental health treatment options that count. With your support and high spirits, we intend to make an unprecedented impact on mental health in our community.
BTGWalk 2023 represented the initial step toward powerful change leaving a significant mark on the local mental health landscape. There were 193 participants in 2023, 240 in 2024, and 280 in 2025. With your support in 2026, 500 walkers will unite to 'bridge the gap' of access to care.
You want to be a part of the 3rd Annual BTGWalk. The day will be packed with fun fulfilling festivities.
Change begins at the Ron Kirk Pedestrian Bridge.
Here is your opportunity to advocate for accessible mental health services for everyone.
We encourage you to join a team and establish a fundraising goal to expand the work of the Bridging the Gap Foundation!
See you there!
Dogs are welcome at the BTGWalk but must always remain leashed. Please confirm the local policy before bringing your fur babies to the event.

National Pajama Day Run/Walk – The Comfiest Miles of Your Life!
Why bother with running gear when you could run/walk or casually stroll in pajamas? The Peticolas Running Club is taking National Pajama Day seriously…ish. Rock your fluffiest socks, wildest onesies, or anything that screams “I might nap at any second” and join us for a social run/walk at your own pace. Fast, slow, sideways — our beer pacers have you covered.
After you “power through” a few miles of pajama-clad glory, refuel like the true champion you are: breakfast tacos from That Taco Dude, and a triumphant toast with three refreshing Peticolas brews. Bonus points if you do it in slippers. Extra bonus points if your onesie has a tail.
Adult supervision? Optional. Miles? Optional. Fun? Absolutely required. Nap mid-toast? We won’t judge. Because let’s be honest: pajamas, tacos, and beer… that’s how legends are made.
Go at YOUR pace, run, walk, skip, whatever you like the goal is to show up and have a great time. Bring a friend or make new ones at the social run. The three miles is on a trail near the brewery!

WHO ARE WE?
Dallas Loop the Lake Foundation was founded by Don Hunter & Beth Crider in 2004. It started with just a small group of running buddies gathering for a New Year's Eve run. Now, over two decades later, Dallas's longest running Fun Run brings the city's communities together for a festive celebration tradition. Loop-the-Lake Foundation has raised over $240,000 for Marathon Kids.
WHAT IS MARATHON KIDS?
Marathon Kids is a nonprofit organization committed to reversing the youth inactivity trend with proven solutions that support the Whole Child, Whole School, Whole Community. Marathon Kids is an evidence-based physical activity program that uses technology and research-proven methods to help kids adopt an active lifestyle. Kids set goals and are challenged to run, jog, walk or move the equivalent of four (or more!) marathons over the course of a season. Not only is goal-setting being taught, but Marathon Kids is an opportunity for all kids - at any fitness level - to learn how being active every day improves their entire well-being.
