Come join us for a combined running, orienteering, and raffle event! Eight raffle ticket stations will be set-up throughout the park. Runners (and walkers) will have 60 minutes to reach as many of the eight ticket stations as they can, collect raffle tickets, and then return to the start. After collecting tickets, participants will return to the start and use their tickets to bid on over 20 raffle prizes. These include Second Sole gift cards and merchandise, local artist items, craft beer and wine, gift baskets, kids toys, and other cool stuff! Participants will choose their own route using park trail maps to reach the ticket stations. The most efficient route will cover about 5.5 miles. No matter how many tickets a participant collects, she/he/they has a chance to win!

    General Information:

The Buckeye 200 is an approximately 203 mile road run from Walnut Beach at Lake Erie to Wellsville, OH, just across the Ohio-West Virginia border. Runners will experience scenery that includes mountain foothills, post-steel industry cities, Amish country, and lakefront streets. The run is an out-and-back adventure that starts and finishes on the beach. With just under 6,000ft of total climb, the journey includes both long, flat segments as well as about 70 miles of rolling hills. A 6 day time limit requires runners to average about 34 miles/day. Crews are encouraged due to limited resource availability on some portions of the course overnight, but are not required. Many runners have successfully run the course self-supported. As this is an open road challenge with no official aid stations, runners will be dependent upon themselves or crew to obtain supplies. Those who are unable to complete the challenge will need to self-extract. If you need transportation back to your vehicle, be advised you might be waiting a while. This is a no frills event that runs on a budget. Stores, diners, and shops are plentiful between 6am and 9-10pm. There are several hotels on the course and within a few minutes walking distance of the course for those who choose to use them during the run. Towns with hotels along the course include Austinburg, Warren, Salem, Lisbon. Finishers will receive a large Buckeye 200 buckle, unique finisher's award, and other items. Those interested in running the Buckeye 200 should be experienced ultra runners, preferably with long distance experience in open road running. Many of our runners have completed other multi-day open road running challenges in the past. If this sounds like an adventure you'd like to experience, we'd love to see you on the road in August!**please note: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS, DEFERRALS, OR TRANSFERS.

    Course Map

Minor changes may be made to the course map, but it will largely follow the route we've used in the past, with the vast majority of miles being run on Ohio route 45. The final course map will be posted on the Buckeye 200 facebook page and emailed to entrants once changes have been finalized. This is the route from 2025: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/3669970198

    100 mile option

The 100 mile run will begin FRIDAY, AUGUST 14th at 0700 at the Wellsville Nicholson Stadium and will finish at Walnut Beach. Those running the 100 mile challenge are REQUIRED to have their own transportation to the start. Cutoff is 72 hours. There are no refunds or deferrals.

    Giving Back

$20 of every paid entry for the 2026 run will be going to the Wellsville high school athletic department. Wellsville Nicholson Stadium has been our turnaround point for several years. The Buckeye 200 supports local youth!

    500 mile award

Those who complete 500 official miles on the Buckeye course will receive the '500 Lifetime Miles' award. This is a "rodeo large" buckle that you'll be proud to display! As of the completion of the 2025 event, 5 people have earned this award: Henry Lupton, Kyle Dudley, Ronald Ross, Justin Daniels, and Tim Hardy. Please be advised that only official finishes count toward this award, and prior to 2023 there was no 100 mile drop down for 200 mile runners who did not complete the full distance.

    Course Record

The course record is currently 53:56:59, set by Alex Ramsey in 2023. Aneta Zeppetella set the women's record at 58:08:36 in 2022. Any male or female runner who can break their respective course record will earn $100 and free entry to all future Buckeye challenges.

Event's current local time: 4:14 AM ET
