About My Mind is Racing

The Problem

You hear about cool races after they already happened. You check Active.com, then Facebook, then your running club's website just to see what's coming up this month. The grassroots stuff—Saturday morning swim groups, bike shop rides, local trail series—only lives on a Facebook post somewhere, if you're lucky.

I'm Olaf Alders. I run, bike, and swim. A few years after I discovered running, I started looking for local races. Then triathlons. Then open water swims. Finding these events was a mess: Google searches, retailer listings, Facebook groups, word of mouth. There was no one place to find everything.

The Solution

My Mind is Racing puts every run, swim, ride and race in Southern Ontario in one searchable calendar. We pull from all the major platforms automatically, so you don't have to check five different sites. Starting with comprehensive coverage in Southern Ontario, expanding as the community grows.

Each event listing directs you back to the original source—the race organizer, the local club, wherever the information came from. We connect you directly to the people running the event. You do your own research, we just make sure you don't miss it.

Build Your Personal Event Calendar

Star events to create your personal calendar. Subscribe once, and your calendar auto-updates as you add new events—no need to download files or re-subscribe.

How it works: Click the button on any event to add it to your calendar. Then visit My Calendar to subscribe in your preferred calendar app (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, etc.). As you star more events, they automatically appear in your calendar.

Your calendar feed is private and unique to you. Share it or keep it personal—your choice.

Add Your Event or Organization

Found an event we're missing? Want to add your running club, race organizing company, or training provider? You can help build the directory:

  • Add an event: Visit /submit/event and paste the event URL. We pull in all the details automatically. Or submit manually to have full control over the listing information.
  • Add an organization: Visit /submit/organization and paste your organization's website. We pull your contact info, location, and description automatically. Or fill in the form manually if you prefer.

What Should I Submit?

Events: Organized runs, swims, rides, races, triathlons, duathlons, open water swims, trail runs, ultras, fun runs, charity runs, group workouts, time trials—if it's scheduled and people can join, submit it.

Organizations: Running clubs, race organizers, training providers, coaching services, charities that host events, local shops—even that dive shop where you get neoprene cement. If it helps people find or participate in endurance sports, submit it. We're looking for the hidden gems you'd normally only discover through word of mouth.

When in doubt, submit it. All submissions go through quick moderation (usually same day) to keep quality high. We'd rather see it and decide than have you miss the chance to share something useful.

If you've submitted events before and they're consistently good, you might get auto-publish access.

What This Is (and Isn't)

This is a directory, not a vetting service. Having an event listed here isn't an endorsement. Always do your research before signing up or handing over money.

This is currently a hobby project. I'm happy for feedback from event organizers and people just looking for their next race.

Coverage Notes

Ironman Events: Ironman's Terms of Use prohibit using event information from their website "for commercial purposes, including non-profit purposes." While we believe race dates and locations are factual information that serves the endurance sports community, we've chosen to exclude their events rather than engage in legal disputes with a large corporation.

Find Ironman and Ironman 70.3 events at ironman.com.
