Apple Valley Criterium is a one-of-a-kind cycling race. Nestled in the hills of beautiful Lafayette, New York, the private race track consists of pristine pavement and sweeping turns, which make for a fast, safe, and technical race course that is extremely spectator friendly. Whether you're a new or experienced cyclist of any discipline, this is the course for you!
Race Day Details:
Day-of Registration: We will have day of registration available at the check-in table from 8:00 am - 1:40 pm for $80.00 for your first race and $20.00 for any additional races (payable by cash or check). You must be registered at least 1 hour before the start of your event, no exceptions.
Parking: Parking will be available on site in the designated lots near the clubhouse, or in the secondary lot you'll pass on the way in. We will have volunteers directing parking and once the clubhouse lot is full we will direct traffic down to the secondary lot to avoid congestion. If you want extra space around your vehicle for warming up, etc. we suggest parking in the secondary lot.
Food Truck: We're excited to have the Mamacitas Food Truck available on site from 11am-3pm with tacos, rice bowls, and other food and drinks - here's a link to a sample menu: https://streetfoodfinder.com/latinoymassyr?tab=menu
Warmups: The track is open from 8:30am - 9:30am before the first race goes off, and there are 10 minutes available from staging until the race start which should allow for racers to ride 1 or 2 laps on the course so long as everyone shows up to staging on time.
Click here for the Strava route for the 2025 course, this is the same course layout we raced 2024.
Rules:
Violations of any of the rules below could lead to being DQ'd in the Race Director's discretion. We reserve the right to shift start times, change the course layout, and/or combine fields based on safety issues and field sizes. Check your pre-race email for all final details before race day.
Absolutely no spectators are allowed on the track at any time during the races. Spectators can view the entire race from the border of the track or the wall along the finishing straight and surrounding grassy areas, no one other than race organizers and timers will be allowed to cross the track at any time - no exceptions!
Only ride clockwise on the track and be mindful of other riders on the track when exiting and entering - riders on the track have the right-of-way.
Be respectful of the volunteers and race crew! We couldn't execute these races without their support.
The track does not open until 8:30 am. Please stay off the track before then and follow the instructions from the volunteers at the designated on/off exits (do not enter the track from anywhere else).
Before each race, there will be 5-10 minutes for racers to ride a warmup lap before gathering at the start line. All other warmups must be done off the track. The roads surrounding the venue are somewhat hilly, so trainers are recommended - please be mindful to not take up additional parking spaces.
Be respectful of the venue (carry-in/carry-out; no littering).
No e-bikes or triathlon/TT bikes are allowed.
Our track time ends at 5:00 pm and we must clear the venue by 6:15 pm. We appreciate your help in promptly clearing the track after each race, as well as cleaning up and departing following the conclusion of the day's races.
Race Schedule
Our preferred schedule is the one posted when you registered, however the Race Director reserves the right to change or alter the schedule as needed. If there are less than 30 riders in a given field, or if we run into an unexpected delay during the day, we may consolidate some fields as needed in order to hold all of the races planned. We will e-mail the schedule out the day before the race (July 18th) after registration has closed and will announce any changes the day of as soon as possible.
Results will be posted under the Pavilion where the registration tables are located - standard USAC 10-minute protest periods will apply and Awards will follow as soon as possible following each race in the parking lot near the finish line.
If you have any questions, please reach out to the Race Director, Ben White via email.

The Hardcore 24
24 Hour Mountain Bike Race
July 25-26, 2026 at Ontario County Park. Ontario County Park (OCP) is situated on top of Gannett Hill at an elevation of 2256 feet Ontario County Park promises to be great venue. OCP offers great campsites, incredible trails and awesome views of the Finger Lakes Region. Another great thing about OCP is that the race course will have considerable less climbing per lap and the climbs are much more broken up than the long sustained climbs found on other courses.
The race starts at Noon on Saturday and Ends at Noon Sunday. The Kids Race will start at 10am Saturday morning. Although kids race for free, we'd like racers to register for waivers and so we have an idea of how many racers there will be. After the race will be awards and a raffle for prizes.
WE'D LIKE TO THANK THE FOLLOWING SPONSORS FOR HELPING TO MAKE THE HARDCORE 24 POSSIBLE!
WE PROUDLY SUPPORT:

The Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon is located approximately 2 miles off Route 5 near West Hill Golf Course at the Intersection of Ike Dixon Road between Sand Road and Gillie Brook Road. The swim is 1/2 mile (2 loops) in a natural, spring fed Gillie Lake, a relatively flat 15 mile bike course and a spectator friendly 5k run to round out the course. This is a great event for all women - first time racers, seasoned triathletes and relay teams. Come join the 13th Annual Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon, it's a spectator friendly course, and family atmosphere.
The 2024 edition will include the sprint triathlon (individual and relay) and Aquabike (swim, bike). This race category is popular with those not ready to run the 5k stance for whatever reason. Racers will swim and ride the same courses as those in the triathlon, but when you are done biking, you are finished with the race. We welcome you to the race infield to enjoy food and drink and cheer on your friends and/or family still on the racecourse!
