    About this Event: This unique running event will take participants through snowy wooded trails, hilly sections and maybe some snow banks thrown in along the way! We also offer a rucking class and even a bathing suit class for the truly adventurous.

    Standard/Rucking Course Length: 4 Miles

    Rucking Class: Participants in this class must complete the course wearing a weighted ruck/backpack or weight vest. Weight requirements are as follows:

    • Ruck or Backpack: 20# female/30# male

    Bathing Suit Class Course Length: 2-4 Miles (weather dependent)

    About the Bathing Suit Class: It’s as simple as it sounds...just wear a bathing suit to be entered into the bathing suit class! Must wear only a bathing suit (shoes, hat and gloves acceptable). No arm warmers, knee socks or other clothing items not listed above.

    Finishers Prize: All finishers will receive a Newbsanity winter hat. Sign up by 1/31/23 to guarantee yours.

    The 12th annual Mud Gauntlet takes place on one of the Northeast's premier permanent obstacle course venues. The Newbsanity Mud Gauntlet course is consistently nominated as one of the top permanent obstacles courses in the nation. Open wave participants will enjoy awesome swag, elite athletes will compete for a prize purse, and food options will be available to everyone in the festival area throughout the day.

    The Newbsanity Mud Gauntlet is a tough and challenging course but offers options on many of the obstacles. This 3.5 mile course winds around 100 acres of wooded terrain in which you'll encounter many natural and man-made obstacles. You'll get to choose your difficulty level by taking either the Risk and Reward path or the Tried and True path. This allows for the seasoned athlete and the first-timer to compete together, side‑by‑side.

    Elite - This heat will be timed and cash awards will be given to the top 3 overall male and female finishers. Payouts are as follows: $500, $250, $100. Athletes in this heat are expected to complete all obstacles or associated penalties. The elite heat will begin at 9AM.

    Age Group Competitive - This heat will be timed. Top finishers in all age groups will receive an award. Athletes in this heat are expected to complete all obstacles or associated penalties. This heat will begin at 9AM.

    Single Lap Open - This heat is for anyone who is looking for mud, obstacles and adventure! Participants in this heat will have a chance to tackle all of the obstacles on the course, but are not required to attempt or complete all obstacles. Athletes are encouraged to help each other out on course and have fun! Open heats are NOT timed. All participants will receive an event shirt and medal. Start times for open waves are 9:30AM, 10:00AM, and 10:30AM.

    Multi Lap - This heat is for anyone who wants multiple hours of mud! Participants are encouraged to take on all obstacles and penalties, but are not required to complete or attempt all obstacles. Laps will be timed; participants will have 6 hours to complete as many laps as possible. This heat will begin at 9AM.

    Welcome to the Newbsanity Last Man Standing OCR Ultra! Athletes will complete an obstacle loop every hour on the hour until only one athlete remains. This event is meant to be an obstacle course version of a "backyard ultra"...it will be a grueling physical and mental test for all who decide to take on the challenge! Athletes will begin their first loop at 8AM.

    Course

    -The loop will be approximately 3 miles

    Starting Corral

    -Participants must be in the starting corral at the bell (start of the lap)

    Starts

    -Each loop starts precisely 1 hour after the last

    -Warning will be given 3,2,1 minutes prior to start

    -All competitors must start at the bell. No late starts

    Loops

    -Except for restrooms, competitors may not leave the course until each loop is completed.

    -Eliminated runners may start additional laps during the official lap starts but may not provide physical assistance to those still in the competition.

    -No personal aid during the loop. There will be a common aid station at roughly the halfway mark.

    -Each lap must be completed in the hour to be counted…Including the final lap.

    -Slower runners must allow passes

    Timing

    -Laps will not be officially timed. Position is simply based on the number of laps completed before elimination

    -Eliminated runners can still accumulate mileage towards the Ultra series rankings by completing additional laps starting and finishing within the hour.

    Winner/Results

    -The winner is the last person to complete a loop

    -All others are technically DNF

    -Results of each runner is terms of loops/distance will be given.

    -If no runner can complete one or more loop than anyone else, there is no winner.

    Cap

    -Race is open ended.

    Relay

    Teams of 3-6 people. Teams will not compete against each other but to complete 12 or 24 hours as a team. Relay teams will have an athlete start a new lap every hour.

    Sprint Distance Triathlon/Duathlon/Aquabike/Relay

    We are excited to be back for the 20th annual Broome County Parks Triathlon at Dorchester Park in Whitney Point, NY. This friendly, hometown race is the perfect venue for first-time participants, but will also challenge more-seasoned multisport athletes. You’ll enjoy beautiful vistas throughout the entire race course. Best of all, proceeds from the race will help with the purchase of accessible playground equipment for Broome County Parks, so children of all abilities can have a chance to play outside. Thank you to all of our participants that make this a great event year after year!

    Mark your calendars for the Inaugural PawFest event on Sunday July 20th 2025! PawFest includes 5K race, dog run/walk and pet festival. This event will feature live music, food trucks, vendors, pup pageant, and a variety of activities for you, your family and your dogs.

    Keeping with Newbsanity core values, the Extreme Ravine will be the gnarliest trail run you have ever done! The course is laid out on the southern trail system of the Newbsanity Adventure Center. The 5k run will complete one loop, while the 15k will complete 3 loops. Want to take on an even bigger challenge? Try the Extreme Ravine 12 Hour! Expect radical elevation changes on varying terrain, creek crossings, swamps, rocks, roots, ruts, and did we mention extreme elevation changes?
