An indoor spinning event, Pedaling 4 Paige is a great way to put your physical, mental and emotional energy towards something much bigger: Raise funds to fight pediatric cancer in Central New York!

Pedaling 4 Paige will have a virtual event option and live event option. There will only be 25 bikes available for each live session at Elevate Fitness in Liverpool. Register online to spin for 1 hour in honor of children and families who have been touched by a diagnosis of pediatric cancer and other blood disorders. Participants can register for one or up to all three 1 hour sessions led by a cycling instructor.

There is a $50 minimum fundraising goal for every hour that you spin

It will be a flat out-and-back course to total 3.1 miles. This is the third annual race to benefit Empower Parkinson Inc. Last year we had over 350 participants and raised over $23,000. This accessible 5K invites people of all ages and abilities to run, walk, stroll, or roll through the Onondaga Lake's beautiful course.

Bring your family, friends, and coworkers — form a team or join as an individual.

Register by April 1st for the early-bird rate of $30. Registration is $35 after April 1st.

All proceeds support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Together, every mile makes a difference!

On April 24, 2021, William "Bill" Scott Jr., passed away suddenly. At the time of passing, Bill was the President of the Syracuse Teachers Association (STA) representing approximately 3,000 Syracuse City School District staff and 20,000 students. Prior to his presidency, Bill spent 10 years as a school social worker and 5 years as the 4th Vice President of STA. Throughout all the stages of his career, Bill worked tirelessly to advocate for his colleagues, students, and their families and he was a fierce advocate for all! In 2022, we hosted our inaugural Bill Scott Memorial 5K Walk/Run at Burnet Park, a place where Bill frequented for his own running. Through this race, monies have been raised to be put towards a scholarship for a Syracuse City School District senior who planned to major in Social Work or the Human Service Profession.

We will continue honoring Bill's memory and legacy by hosting our 5th annual race on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 9 AM. This year our race will be held in a new, flatter location - Onondaga Lake Parkway. The money raised from this event will continue to go towards a scholarship for a senior pursing a degree in Psychology or Human Services. In addition to the Syracuse City School District, this years scholarship will be open to seniors from Jamesville-Dewitt, Hannibal, and Whitesboro, all districts that played important roles in the lives of Bill and his children.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall female and male finishers.

New York Adult & Teen Challenge is a Christian residential discipleship program dedicated to helping individuals break free from life-controlling issues, including addiction, anxiety, and depression. Our mission is to see lives transformed through Christ as individuals begin to KNOW Christ, GROW in Christ, SERVE Christ, and SHARE what Christ has done for them.

With centers in Syracuse (Men and Women), Rochester, Buffalo, and Long Island officially opened back up, we are committed to providing hope and healing. However, our program is not supported by insurance or government funding—we rely entirely on the generosity of our community and fundraising events like our annual 5K Run/Walk for Recovery.

This event is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to make a real difference. The New York Paddle Champs is an exciting event that brings together racers from all regions to compete for a coveted State Champion Jacket, title of Best Paddling Region in New York, and $5000 in cash and prizes! Organized by passionate and motivated members of the New York paddesport community, this championship event promises a thrilling day of racing on (mostly) flat water. Race participation is not limited to NY based athletes. Anyone can enter and compete for the win in their division, plus cash and swag.

There is no additional charge to register for the second race if you choose to race in both the morning and afternoon. This allows paddlers to compete in multiple disciplines to get the full experience, at a reasonable price. A discount will be applied at checkout.

Prizes

The event offers a range of competitive categories for participants, and a State Champion Jacket will be presented to the top performers in each category (men's/woman's/mixed), plus cash, and prizes for select categories. The awards breakdown is as follows.
- C1 Open/Stock: Winners of each category will get a State Champion Jacket (men's, and woman's).
- C2 Open/Stock, and K1 Open/Sport: Winners of each category will get a State Champion Jacket (men's, woman's, and mixed).
- Top 3 in C2 Open/Stock will win $200, $150, and $100 (men's, women's, and mixed).
- Top 3 in K1 Open/Sport will win $100, $75, and $50, (men's, and women's).
- Top 10 overall across all classes will win $100, $90, $80, etc.
- Placing top 3 in class makes you ineligible for the overall payout, i.e. no double dipping. This is to spread the payout further back into the field.
- A bonus will also be paid out to age categories. i.e. Masters, Veterans.
- Recreational + C4: Timed race, plus podium photo op for top 3 performers
Course Details

On site registration opens at 8:30 AM, pre-race briefing at 9:15 AM.

The 9:30 AM race will consist of two counterclockwise laps around Klein Island, plus parade laps, for a total of ~5 miles.

The 12 PM race will consist of a parade lap, an up-and-back segment towards Baldwinsville, an optional short portage in the second parade lap, and finishing with a loop around Klein Island. Total distance is ~11 miles.

See Course Maps for detailed info. Subject to change depending on weather conditions. Final decision will be announced during the pre-race briefing.

Whether you're a seasoned paddler looking to prove your prowess or a newcomer eager to join the New York paddlesport community, the New York Paddle Champs event promises an exhilarating day of competition and camaraderie. Participants are invited to bring a picture of a loved one, that they would like to remember, to be displayed on the memory board the day of the race and later displayed in the HOPE office.

Registration is online only. No paper or cash accepted. All 5K runners and walkers will be timed!

Come celebrate the transition from Thanksgiving to the Christmas season with a fun and festive Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K for runners and walkers. The 12th Annual Syracuse Ugly Sweater 5K will once again be held at Onondaga Lake Park under the Lights on the Lake. All runners participating in the Ugly Sweater 5K run (either Team Santa or Team Grinch) will receive a custom long sleeve shirt and custom finisher medal. New for 2026 will be the addition of the Ugly Sweater 5K Yeti Walk. All of those participating in the rewarding 5K walk will receive a custom Winter Beanie and a finisher medal.

Post race awards ceremony and party will be at the Cobblestone in Liverpool. There will be awards for the Overall and Age Group winners as well as prizes for best in dress.

All donations, both financial and in-kind will go to the Ainsley's Angels of Syracuse this year.
