NOTICE: Due to the icy and snowy conditions at Kimberly Park and in the surrounding community, 48 Miles for HOPE will be a virtual event for all runners.
For the fifth consecutive year, Justin will spend his birthday running his age in miles, all to raise money and awareness for HOPE of Winston Salem! Like the last two years, there will be a 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run to take place as Justin runs laps around the loop at Kimberley Park. For the First time, there will be a RELAY option, so gather up to 6 friends and run the full 48 relay-style.
As always, you can sign up for the 48 mile "Fun Run" to go the full distance!
This year's after party will be the best yet, so stick around after the race for food, drink, fellowship and giveaways!
The Course is a .55 mile crushed gravel trail loop at Kimberley Park, just outside of downtown Winston Salem. 5Kers will run a little under 6 laps and 10Kers will run just over 11 laps. Each race will start at different times to allow people to spread out.
This is a family event complete with prizes, giveaways, and fellowship. Prizes will be awarded for Top Overall Female and Male finishers. Food and snacks will be available on site to help you fuel up post-race. All proceeds benefit HOPE of Winston Salem and help curb food insecurity for many families in Forsyth County. Find out more about HOPE here. To donate directly to HOPE, click here and enter in "48 Miles of HOPE" in the additional info box.
Come support HOPE and celebrate Justin's birthday at this unique event!
Stay tuned for more information about the race!

About us
When our sister/daughter, Angel, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at the very young age of 29, we were devastated, in shock, and uncertain of what we could do. Yet even amid her battle, Angel was compelled to find ways to help others. It was during her own chemo treatments that she expressed the desire, once her treatments were over, to start a nonprofit to help other patients. Thus, The Angelic Warrior Foundation, and our annual Angel Run were established to bring her dream to life.
The Angelic Warrior Foundation’s vision is to help save lives by drawing attention to the alarming rate in which young adults are being diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and to prevent premature deaths from this relentless disease. Our goal is to prevent other families from experiencing the heartache of losing such a young family member by sharing information about colorectal cancer and putting on a fun event for participants and their families.
By participating in the Angel Run, you will help us raise awareness about colon cancer, and provide support to colon cancer patients and their families. To learn more about Angelic Warrior Foundation, you can visit our website: https://angelicwarriorfoundation.org

The Feet for the Street 5K, was created to raise awareness and much needed financial support for the Winston-Salem Street School, a private, nonprofit alternative educational option for at-risk high school students in the Forsyth County area. The Street School combines small class sizes, caring, individualized attention, and an unwavering belief that the students we serve, when given a second chance, can not only thrive in high school, but be better prepared for success in life as well.
In the last 21 years, nearly 400 students have overcome personal issues and learning difficulties to graduate and receive an accredited high school diploma from the Street School. These are students who many had little hope for and who in most cases, had very limited expectations for themselves before coming to the Street School. Since the Street School is a nonprofit organization, your support directly impacts our ability to provide life-changing services for our students. By participating in events like the Feet for the Street 5K & 7 Miler, you are making a difference!
We are excited for the 4th year of our 7 Miler event! This course will take runners around the loop that circles beautiful Salem Lake. Thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, prize money will be up for grabs for the top male and female finishers of the 5K and 7 Miler events. This race is now truly an event for all levels of participants, from those who love a little exercise to the serious competitive runners looking to win some money for their hard work.

Maddie’s Miles 5K
Still in the Game
Join us for this year’s Maddie’s Miles 5K Memorial Run/Walk in memory of Madison “Maddie” Marini
Every year, the theme for Maddie’s Miles reflects something Maddie loved. This year’s theme, “Still in the Game”, honors her love for sports. Maddie loved playing them, watching them, and cheering on her favorite teams. The excitement, teamwork, and heart that come with sports were a big part of who she was.
But this theme also carries a deeper meaning. In the face of addiction, loss, and recovery, we are reminded that hope, love, and community are still in the game. Every step taken at Maddie’s Miles represents a commitment to keep fighting, to support those struggling with addiction, and to honor the lives that continue to inspire us.
Together, we run for Maddie, for those we’ve lost, for those in recovery, and for the belief that no one should ever feel like they are out of the game.
We're thrilled to welcome back Ruff Love Rescue https://www.ruffloverescue.com/ A rescue organization that was close to Maddie's heart. They'll be set up at the event— and bringing adoptable dogs who would love to join you on the course!
Maddie's Miles 5k Run/Walk event is at Jamison Park in Winston-Salem. This run will be held on an out and back course on Muddy Creek Greenway. There will be auction items, prizes, & food!

WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Each year over 100,000 people die from drug overdoses in the US. This staggering number includes deaths from opioids, synthetic opioids, and other substances. Each death, is someone's child, mother, father, aunt, uncle, friend, etc. Efforts to combat this crisis include increased funding for treatment and prevention, as well as harm reduction strategies such as the distribution of naloxone, a medication that can reverse opioid overdoses. Despite this, the number of overdose deaths remains alarmingly high, highlighting the need for comprehensive and sustained efforts to address the root causes of addiction (CDC Blogs).
MADDIE
My amazing, intelligent, talented and beautiful daughter Madison “Maddie” Marini, struggled with addiction for many years. Limited resources, financial obstacles and the undeniable Stigma that still exists today, made her road to recovery not possible. Maddie had hopes and dreams of attending college and becoming a forensic anthropologist. She was nicknamed "Bones" after her favorite TV show character, who played a forensic anthropologist. Maddie was always so intrigued by the thought of being able to find out what might have happened to people, so that she would be able to give families answers and closure about their loved ones. Never did I ever imagine, I would be the one needing answers and closure. When Maddie walked into a room, you might not have known who she was, but you never forgot her. She had the most vibrant personality that commanded the entire room.
Tragically, on December 29th, 2016, at the very young age of 22, Maddie lost her battle with addiction and died from an accidental overdose. There are truly no words that can describe the immense pain in my heart and the ache I carry every each day, from missing and wanting her back so badly.
WHERE THE MONEY GOES
Proceeds from the Maddie's Miles event support Phoenix Rising of Winston Salem, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to combating addiction through local drug court support. Funds also aid other local non-profits, aiming to prevent further lives from being lost to addiction and accidental overdoses. Visit https://phoenixrisingwinstonsalem.org/

Step 2. Pick up your race packet and t-shirt on Friday, October 17th at packet pick up from 3-7pm at Fleet Feet Winston Salem (278 Harvey St, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). Or pick it up on race day at Redeemer Presbyterian Church prior to 8am. Unfortunately, we are unable to ship packets/t-shirts if you are unable to come to the packet pick up/in person race.
Step 3. If you registered for an in person event, join us at Redeemer Presbyterian Church for our in person event on October 18, 2025. Please consider parking at Ardmore Baptist Church or Ardmore United Methodist Church (both ~ 9 minute walk). Race day registration will start at 7am with the 10K starting at 8am. The 10K will start at 8AM, fun run will begin at 8:10AM and the 5K will begin at 9:15AM. If you signed up for a virtual event, run/walk the distance on our own and submit your time to be added to the Ardmore RAH results leader board. Post a picture of your run to Facebook or Instagram using #ardmorerah
Please note, virtual race results must be reported no later than midnight on Saturday, October 18th. You must be registered and have an assigned bib number to submit results. Look up your bib number on your registration confirmation email or on the Find A Participant link above after registering.

History
Members of Redeemer Church and the Ardmore Neighborhood Association founded the Ardmore 5K in 2001. Our goal was to strengthen the community by uniting for a meaningful cause: fighting hunger. More than $300,000 has been donated to Second Harvest Food Bank — $26,000 last year alone – which has provided more than 2 MILLION meals to our neighbors. In 2013, the addition of a 10K led us to rename the Ardmore 5K to the Run Against Hunger – the RAH! The expanded event has drawn more participants, generated more excitement and raised more money and awareness of the fight against hunger.

The NCANA Run for Joy is a 5K race that supports mental health advocacy and wellness for health care trainees. Mental health issues and suicide are becoming increasingly common among health care trainees and providers. Training programs are usually very rigorous, caring for patients is stressful, and those who care for others often feel that they can’t or shouldn’t admit that they need care themselves. Unfortunately, there is often a stigma associated with mental illness, and trainees may feel that admitting that they struggle could damage their careers.
Run for Joy seeks to combat this stigma and support the mental wellness of heath care trainees. Proceeds from the race help finance initiatives that enhance mental wellness and provide support for those needing mental health services. Donations and race proceeds are managed by Run for Joy, Inc, a charitable organization established for this purpose. Run for Joy was started after the tragic death of Katelyn Joy Beardsley. Katelyn was a vibrant young woman who brought immense joy to everyone who knew her. She had a strong love for God and for people. She was unapologetically authentic and could sit with people in their deepest sadness or laugh with them in their highest joys. Katelyn actively counseled and encouraged many others in the midst of their depression, and we know lives were preserved because of her. Katelyn also loved running, which was her favorite way to combat her own depression and anxiety. In the summer of 2018, Katelyn enrolled in the Nurse Anesthesia program at Wake
Forest University School of Medicine to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a CRNA. Unfortunately, that dream was never realized. On June 11, 2020, two months prior to graduation, Katelyn died by suicide. We will never know all the things that led to this tragic end to such a beautiful life. Because Katelyn was high functioning and upbeat, no one saw this coming. Data show that many others are struggling like Katelyn. Run for Joy seeks to bring help and awareness to this critical situation.
