You're Invited to the Run Calgary X Fluid Projects Ale Trail: Earth Day Plogging Edition!
Wednesday, April 22 @ 6 pm
Join Run Calgary and our Sustainability Sponsor, Fluid Projects, for some Earth Day fun! On Wednesday April 22nd we will be meeting at Two House Brewing and heading out for an evening plogga to help clean up the pathways so many of us train on.
What is Plogging?
Plogging is the action of jogging while picking up litter/trash. The word is a combination of the Swedish phrase “plocka upp”, which translates to “pick up”, and the word “jogging”. Started in 2016, plogging is now a popular activity that combines movement and cleaning up your community. A perfect way to celebrate Earth Day!
What's Included
This event includes one (1) complimentary drink courtesy of Run Calgary (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and plog (light jog or walk) led by Run Calgary that begins and ends at Two House Brewing.
Please bring your own protective work gloves if you have them. Run Calgary will provide garbage bags and have extra gloves on hand for those that need to borrow a pair. We will also provide a briefing pre-event to ensure our plogging efforts are safe and sanitary!
Be sure to wear your best blue and green gear to celebrate Earth Day!
Please note: This Ale Trail is open to all ages!
Capacity is limited. If you can no longer attend, please email [email protected].

❤️ Why We Run: James’ Story
In February 2023, our son James was diagnosed with toxic shock syndrome at age 4. He required emergency life-support (ECMO), a program that only exists at the Alberta Children's Hospital because the Foundation raised the funds to pay for it.
Today, James is a symbol of resilience. We are committed to paying it forward so that the 100,000+ kids treated here every year get the same fighting chance. Every child deserves the best care possible.
Thank you for being part of our story and supporting this community.
The incredible ECMO program at the Stollery Hospital and James' story was featured recently on Global News: https://globalnews.ca/news/11730479/stollery-ecmo-program/
With love,
Matt, Dianne, James and Izzy

You can join us for the Brookfield Walk/Run by choosing one of three routes: 1km fun run, 5km walk or run, and a 10km run. There will be treats, entertainment and more at the end of the event.
This year we have chosen to partner with the Calgary Food Bank as our charitable organization. Our goal is to get involved, create awareness, raise funds and collect food donations for an exceptional cause to fight hunger.

The "Mahogany Beach 2 Beach" 1.2km swim is an open water event held on the crystal-clear waters of Mahogany Lake in Calgary, AB. Starting on the sandy shoreline of one beach, the course takes swimmers along a route that connects the two main beaches within the community.
Surrounded by beautiful homes, vibrant green space, and cheering spectators, participants experience the unique thrill of a safe but challenging open water swim. This approachable distance makes it ideal for newcomers to open water racing, while still offering seasoned swimmers the chance to push their pace across a stunning venue.
Buoys guide the course, lifeguards and safety kayaks ensure a secure swim, and the finish line welcomes athletes with energy, support, and a true celebration of lake life in Mahogany.

Athletes may also get dropped off at West Beach, but we ask that there is no parking in the West Beach parking lot to allow for traffic flow. Athletes will be given a bag that they may drop at West Beach before they start that will be delivered to Main Beach later on for collection.
