If you’re unsure whether your child is a good fit for the program, you’re welcome to attend a trial practice before registering. All athletes must be able to meet the team standard listed below.

Registration includes a team jersey (black or yellow), shorts, and a new club T-shirt, plus complimentary entry into the Downville Mile. We also cover AAU District registration for each athlete, with the requirement that a parent or guardian maintains an active AAU membership.

The Upstate Running Club is proud to sponsor over 100 youth athletes each year through seasonal training programs. Each season includes weekly practices, local and regional competitions, and team-building socials designed to strengthen both athletic skill and personal development.

Thanks to your club memberships and generous team donations, we’re able to offer these programs at a reduced cost for youth ages 7–13. Our mission is to equip young athletes with the tools to succeed at the next level of competition—while fostering self-confidence, resilience, and lifelong character.

This program provides youth and developmental athletes with complimentary coaching from our volunteer coaching staff, Victoria and Matt Hammersmith, who bring over three decades of combined coaching experience working with athletes of all levels.

Welcome to The Country Mile 48-Hour!

Hosted at Beechwood Family Farm | Marietta, SC

We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome 300 strong-hearted folks out here for a weekend filled with dirt, distance, and some good ol’-fashioned farm fun. This here patch of land—Beechwood Family Farm—is one of the Upstate’s prettiest spots, and they’ve kindly opened up their fields so y’all can stretch your legs and chase dreams from 50K all the way up to a big ol’ 150 miles.

Now I’ll tell ya somethin’ personal—growing up runnin’ dirt roads through Indiana and Ohio, there was a kind of peace in the rhythm of it, like the land itself was singin' to ya. That’s the feelin’ I hope y’all find out here this weekend. Just you, the trail, and the wide open sky.

    About the Farm

Beechwood Farms ain’t just any patch of dirt—it’s a hardworkin’, produce-growin’ gem of the Upstate. They’re known far and wide for fresh strawberries, sweet corn, squash, tomatoes—you name it. Their crops end up on tables all over, from farmer’s markets and local eateries to big stores like Ingles. It’s a real honor to be out here on land that feeds folks, and to share in the spirit of such a rooted, down-home part of this community.

So take a deep breath, soak in the sights, and let the land carry you. We’re mighty glad you’re here.
