Are you looking for a way to make a positive impact on your community while staying active and healthy? Look no further than the Run For It program, developed by the Tucker Community Foundation in 2007. This program encourages participation in healthy activities while raising much-needed support and awareness for non-profit organizations, civic organizations, and charities in our ten-county region of West Virginia and Maryland.
Join one of the many teams representing non-profit and charitable organizations and take advantage of three opportunities to raise support through the program: entry fees, team sponsorship, and race day awards. Not only does half of the $12.00 entry fee go towards your chosen cause, but team sponsors can also donate any amount to any number of causes, and all sponsor donations go directly toward your team's cause. Additionally, the Foundation provides initial funding for the race awards purse, and sponsors supplement these awards, resulting in 100% cash awards for teams across numerous categories.
By participating in Run For It, you'll be supporting a wide range of causes that make a difference in our community, including the arts, animal welfare, challenged athletes, charities, churches, civic organizations, community improvement projects, cultural organizations, educational activities, emergency services, environmental causes, historic preservation, hospital and medical programs, libraries and literacy programs, non-profit organizations, parks and recreation, senior citizen programs, Tucker Community Foundation operations, and youth organizations.
The annual Run For It campaign begins on April 1, 2026, and culminates with a 2k walk and 5k walk/run on September 26, 2026, in Davis, WV, during the annual Leaf Peeper's Festival. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to make a difference in your community while improving your health. Join a team and start fundraising today!

Martha's Ride 2026 Benefiting The Martha Fund — Building Playgrounds Across Pittsburgh, Honoring Those Who Serve
Martha's Ride honors FBI Special Agent Martha Dixon, killed in the line of duty on November 22, 1994, and stands in support of the law enforcement community that shares her legacy. Inspired by the Police Unity Tour, this annual ride travels from her name on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. to the Martha Dixon FBI Field Office in Pittsburgh — 329 miles along the C&O Canal Towpath and Great Allegheny Passage. Every dollar raised builds playgrounds for Pittsburgh's kids in the communities our officers protect every day.
THREE WAYS TO RIDE
Endurance Ride — Sept 28–Oct 2 329 miles over five days. Depart the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. on Monday, September 28 and finish at the Martha Dixon FBI Field Office in Pittsburgh on Friday, October 2. Overnight stops in Harper's Ferry, WV (Clarion Inn); Hancock, MD; Cumberland, MD (Fairfield Inn); and Ohiopyle, PA. A SAG vehicle and trailer accompany the full route with limited mechanical support, nutrition, and gear transport. Full-service bike shops are available along the route for serious mechanical issues. Riders arrange their own lodging — recommended accommodations provided at confirmation.
Pittsburgh Day Ride — Oct 3 (10-Mile) Start at Southside Riverfront Park under the Birmingham Bridge and roll out along the South Side trail. Sweeping views of the Pittsburgh skyline across the Monongahela make this one of the most scenic rides in the city — flat, welcoming, and perfect for families and first-timers. Finish at the Martha Dixon bench near Hot Metal Bridge where a Pittsburgh Police escort leads the group back down Carson Street to the park for the official finish. Open to all fitness levels. Bring the family.
Pittsburgh Day Ride — Oct 3 (30-Mile) Same start and head out through the South Side, climbing into the rolling hills above the city with sweeping views of the river and Pittsburgh skyline before dropping back down to trace the Monongahela out to McKeesport. Bridges, riverside neighborhoods, and the kind of terrain that makes you feel every mile. Finish at the Martha Dixon bench near Hot Metal Bridge where a Pittsburgh Police escort leads the group back down Carson Street to the park for the official finish.
AFTERPARTY All riders and supporters are invited to the afterparty at Burghers Brewing the Southside. Riders, Family and Friends are all encouraged to come celebrate immediately following the ride. Sign up for our updates on the website.
