About the Event
The Sap Run is a scenic, slightly hilly neighborhood 5K route, held about every spring since 1989 to help raise money for Kennedy Heights Community Council and its efforts to support the neighborhood.
Since this typically takes place a month before Flying Pig Weekend, many participants use this as a light training opportunity. Others use this as an opportunity to casually walk the route and catch up with friends, family, and neighbors.
The races are timed, but this is an intentionally low-stress, small field race, ending with breakfast and fun activities for all ages inside.

First held in 1915 as a test of marching endurance for soldiers in the Norwegian Military. A strategic goal was to be able to move larger units of troops over a great distance swiftly and in a manner that enabled them to efficiently be combat ready even after the march by carrying their rucksack /weaponry of 11 kg.
The goal today is to stimulate the general interest of marching over extended distances amongst military and civilian personnel.
The test consists of a 30km/18.6mile march (march/run) with rucksack containing 11kg (24 lbs). There is no longer a requirement to carry your rifle.
Approved military uniform must include field uniform and military grade boots. The uniform must be within regulation during the march. Civilian events and where civilians partake in a military setting, civilian clothing is allowed i.e., long trousers and boots.
Rucksack with content must weigh in at minimum 11 kg/24 lbs. at both start and finish line.
NOTE: water weight will not be included in weighing, this should be accounted for prior to step off. Rucksack/backpack of military grade. Civilian participants can use a civilian version of rucksack, which may include hiking backpacks, GoRuck bags, or any other variation so long as it has waist belt capabilities.
Control of outfit and weighing of backpack is done prior to and after the march to ensure the correct weight and requirements have been maintained.
Assistance from non-participants is prohibited, except for timing, weighing, on hydration/food stations, and first aid.
If any clarifying information is needed for uniform and rucksack regulations, please contact CDT Davis ([email protected])
All participants will begin the ruck at 0700. Those with an anticipated pace of 10 – 11 minutes will locate at the front, followed by 11-12, 12-13, 13-14, 14-15, 15+ which will allow for proper spacing and rucker distribution

Strides for Safety is a family-friendly, timed 5K at Winton Woods organized by Jane Holbrook, a high school junior living with severe food allergies. The event benefits food allergy awareness and advocacy.
More than 1 in 13 children and 1 in 10 adults in the U.S. have a food allergy—over 33 million people. A food-allergic reaction sends someone to the emergency room every three minutes. Funds raised through this event support the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Connection Team (FAACT), an organization dedicated to education and advocacy, while supporting families in Cincinnati and across the country living with life-threatening food allergies.
The 3.1-mile course at Winton Woods Park features a scenic lake, wooded trails, and beautiful spring views. The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities—families, kids, and first-time 5K participants are welcome.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, the post-race celebration includes music, raffle baskets, and allergy-friendly items. Awards will be given to the top three finishers, along with a special award for the Most Spirited Food Allergy Family.
Join us as we turn strides into safety—every step helps protect children and families affected by food allergies!

Strength Meets Speed for a Cause!
Urban Outreach NKY/Cincinnati is back with the PUMP N’ RUN—the ultimate test of power and pace. We’re not just hitting the pavement; we’re raising the funds needed to install a commercial AC system at our Covington gym, where those who are under-resourced, can still work out.
How does it work?
The Pump N’ Run combines weightlifting and running skills within one unique event. A person bench presses a percentage of their body weight based upon an age and gender handicap, and each bench repetition reduces their run time. A lighter lift formula is used for the longer Half and Full Marathon Runs.
In addition to awards given in each age group for the “Fastest Net Run Time”, there are also Pump Club medals which can be earned.
-
10 to 19 reps earns a “Bronze” 10-Pump Club Medal
-
20 to 29 reps earns a “Silver” 20-Pump Club Medal
-
30+ reps earns the ultimate “Gold” 30-Pump Club Medal.
| Race Distance | Time Off Per Rep | Max Reps | Max Time Deduction |
| 5K | 30 Seconds | 30 Reps | 15 Minutes |
| 10K | 1 Minute | 30 Reps | 30 Minutes |
| Half Marathon | 2 Minutes | 50 Reps | 1 Hour 40 Minutes |
| Full Marathon | 4 Minutes | 50 Reps | 3 Hours 20 Minutes |
Note: You must be able to bench press your designated weight at least twice to be eligible for the PUMP N' RUN competition. Please see the Lift Charts on our website www.urbanoutreachnky.com/flying-pig-pump-n-run to find your specific weight and review the Lift Rules for proper technique.
You must register for the Flying Pig race in addition to the Pump N Run. Register for the Flying Pig at flyingpigmarathon.com

Dirt Days Trail Series - Mt. Airy Ridge Run
Sunday, May 17, 2026 8:30 am
Mt. Airy Forest, Cincinnati, OH
UPDATE: THE START TIME FOR BOTH DISTANCES IS 8:30 AM. TREKKERS WILL STILL GO OFF AT 8:00
Mt. Airy Ridge Run is a perennial favorite. This is the largest park in the city and features extensive trails.
Mt. Airy Forest is, in fact, is one of the larger parks located within a city's limits in the country. Even Central Park can only boast 843 acres, while Mt. Airy holds a massive 1,469.9 acres. The Mt. Airy Forest Ridge Run is aptly named, as the runners will get a wilderness experience that mirrors the Sierras at times. The course winds through all of the features Mt. Airy has to offer, such as its lush evergreens, dense hardwoods, open meadows, flowing rivers, and of course, hill climbs and ridge traverses.
The Mt. Airy Forest Ridge Run will have TWO separate races over different distances. There will be a two lap race (10.6) miles that will begin at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a one lap race (5.4 miles) that will start at 8:30 a.m. We will begin sweeping the course at 9:45 am so you need to be finished with one lap by then. If you are doing the one-lap event, you do not need to worry about this.
This is the Third leg of the Dirt Days Trail Series. Each event will be scored separately and both events will count toward the Series points.
Mt. Airy Ridge Run Update: We have added a "Trekker" category for those who would like to do the 10+ mile course but need extra time to finish. If you think that you need more than 2-2.5 hours to finish, we encourage you to consider the this option. You can start at 8:00 instead of 8:30. You will receive a time and credit for participation. Also, you can finish before all the food is gone!
New for 2026: We have added a Trekker category for the 5.4 event as well.

14K / 7K BREWERY RUN ON OKTOBERFEST WEEKEND
The 14K/7K Brewery Run on Oktoberfest Weekend wraps up the TQL Beer Series and at the same time kicks off Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, the largest Oktoberfest celebration outside of Munich. The 14K and shorter 7K start and end along Cincinnati’s riverfront.
Along the course, you’ll pass by many of the historic brewery sites of early Cincinnati and follow the routes that the horse-drawn carts took to bring the beer from the breweries to the riverboats that would take the beer throughout the country. And once you’re finished, the party continues at Oktoberfest with brews and snacks as those who have completed the TQL Beer Series can celebrate their Brew Hog-dom!
Prices listed are inclusive of applicable fees.
