Ontario Summit Trail Races FarFetched Enterprises is excited to announce the 2026 Ontario Summit Trail Races. We hope that you will join us at Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill on Saturday, September 12th, 2026 for this unique trail experience. Changes in 2026 There are going to be big changes to the race course this year. We'll be keeping the things that have worked and trying our best to smooth over some of the problem areas. One historic constraint has been trying to get enough miles to create a half marathon. Instead, we will focus on creating a short and a long course that make sense and focus less on the actual distance. Location, Parking & Schedule Race HQ is at Wilson Lodge in Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill. There is a parking lot next to Wilson Lodge, but this is reserved for race staff and volunteers. Driving past the Lodges, there is a one-way, counter-clockwise loop for accessing a baseball field and several pavilions. We have reserved these pavilions for event parking.
We will be directing traffic on the day of the races, so keep an eye out for our volunteers. We would like to fill in spaces starting at the end of the loop, so keep driving forward on the loop until directed. Please do not park on the race course or on the main park road. Please do not park in the small lots by the jump off, as these are reserved for other visitors to the park. Note that the main park road is one-way, counter-clockwise, so be careful when leaving the park.7:00AM - Packet pickup and same day registration open @ Wilson Lodge8:00AM - Early start of the long course8:45AM - Packet pickup and same day registration closes9:00AM - Regular start of the long course9:05AM - Packet pickup and same day registration re-open9:45AM - Packet pickup closes10:00AM - Start of the short course11:00AM - Post-race food and drink available Course TBD Friday Activities We will be offering all racers the option to tent or vehicle camp in the area by the lodges. There is also the option to use one of
the campsites or cabins at the park, but athletes will need to make their own arrangements with Ontario County Parks. We'll have some casual Friday night social events starting around 7:00PM. We may have some light snacks available, but dinner is on your own. You will have access to several outdoor grills by the lodges, along with some kitchen equipment if you want to cook. Virgil Crest it ain't for... Looking for something more PC? Well... Virgil Crest Ain't Easy. Ascents and descents can be steep, cumulative gain and loss are significant, and there's always the chance for weather to double down on those challenges. But: The sunrise as you crest the opening climb, the singletrack forest, and the technical flow are... Beautiful. A New Path Same Grit. The Tradition To keep up with Ian's, perhaps intentional, tradition... the course WILL be different in some manner from years prior. We will try to get out ahead with course maps and updates. We can promise there will be climbing. We have every intention to have this year be a major course shift. As of right now, we're waiting on a few things to settle in before the course is fully released but it'll be everything Virgil has to offer, and then some... promise. WHAT Ya Get? We're looking into details of what exactly to get ya. Virgil has a history of cool, locally sourced finishers giveaways—those WILL be in the
mix. Expect something snazzy. RACE Schedule. Start times are posted above. Cut off for the 100mi is 36 hours from the official start. Aid Station cut offs will be posted once the full course is set. Distance Drop Policy: You will receive an unofficial finish time for the distance you drop into. PACERS & Poles. 100 Mile entrants are permitted pacers at or after 50 miles, or nightfall. Poles are permitted for all entrants; those over 50 miles in 2021 found them highly beneficial. The Only Request: Poles MUST fit in a drop bag if left at an aid station for transport. CREW Info. We’re working hard to make sure the stations are crew accessible. The Start/Finish is confirmed for crew access, and there will be at least one additional station throughout the course. Others will be updated soon. The Visual Experience. Wanna get a feel for the course and event through images? Explore the high-intensity moments captured by Ron Heerkens Jr. in the 2021 photo set. Welcome to our 15th Annual Finger Lakes Mud Run! When we started this race fifteen years ago - it seemed wild to think we'd still be operating a decade and a half later. Through leadership changes, through COVID, through rain, sleet, heat, and drought, we've brought the FLMR alive every year. We are so excited to still be going strong at year 15 - and you can be sure there will be some special 15 year anniversary surprises for all of our registrants.
The Finger Lakes Mud Run is an outdoor challenge course that takes place on the beautiful grounds of Everest Park, with about 40 (in 2025) obstacles both man made and natural, that is usually just over four miles long. Designed to help cultivate camaraderie and teamwork, families and friends can look forward to an exhilarating, challenging, and extremely muddy adventure! Donations and registration net proceeds will go to Champions for Life, Inc., a non-profit organization in Auburn, NY, which operates the CFL Sports Center, Everest Park, and the Brian Bisgrove Home of Courage. For more information about Champions for Life, please click here.
Have you participated in past FLMR races? Have ideas about what you'd like to see at our 15th event? Contact us via the 'contact the race' button, and tell us what you think. Want to help participate in the planning of the Mud Run, or help construct obstacles? We always welcome input and assistance from our community of Mud Runners!
Bampa’s House has announced that they will be sponsoring the Ninth Annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Craig Park in Painted Post, NY. The purpose of the race is to raise money for Bampa’s House and celebrate the life of Jim Dugan, the namesake of Bampa’s House. Participants are encouraged to run or walk the 3.1 mile course that includes the beautiful Painted Post Trail and winds through the streets of Painted Post where Jim lived. Alternatively, for those who cannot or choose not to participate in person, participants can join us virtually! Just send us your time and we will mail you your t-shirt for participating!
Become a fundraiser for Bampa’s House! You can collect donations through your own fundraising page just for participating. It’s easy to set up!
All proceeds from the race will go to Bampa’s House. Bampa’s House (Corning Comfort Care, Inc.) is a non-profit organization that serves the Steuben, Chemung, and Schuyler county areas and focuses on providing a safe and comfortable place for people to receive end-of-life care when home care is not an option.

About SCTR is excited to announce the second running of the Hill to Hollow 100km, co-directed with Pete Dady of the Hash House Harriers who traversed the loop back in the COVID days. Crossing four counties, the course will begin and end in Morgan Hill State Forest (camping available), following the nearly-all-single-track Onondaga Trail alongside misty ponds, up to incredible vistas, and crossing above waterfalls; past the highest point in Onondaga County on single track mountain bike trails within Morgan Hill State Forest. The course then follows the Onondaga Trail/North Country Trail east to Highland Forest County Park and past DeRuyter Reservoir, turning south on the enigmatic Link Trail through Muller Hill State Forest before joining the main Finger Lakes Trail in Mariposa State Forest, heading west past Chippewa Falls, and rejoining the Onondaga Trail to reenter Morgan Hill State Forest. This is a challenging 100km, so self-sufficiency and strong navigation skills (without 5G/LTE
network coverage) are musts. Hill to Hollow 100km take place concurrently with the Morgan Hill Trail Races Half Marathon & Marathon, is Trail Sisters approved, and is a UTMB Index race.It takes a tremendous amount of work by a great many people and organizations to provide public access to and maintain the beautiful land and trails upon which these races depend. SCTR is immensely grateful to NYS DEC, Finger Lakes Trail Conference, North Country National Scenic Trail Association CNY Chapter, Highland County Park, the ADK-Onondaga Chapter, and the many private landowners, trail stewards, and volunteers without whom this would not be possible. About Well done, you've discovered the registration page for the most scenic and challenging trail races that Central New York has to offer. Starting and finishing within Morgan Hill State Forest (camping available), the Morgan Hill Half Marathon and Morgan Hill "Meat Grinder" Marathon courses follow the nearly-all-single-track Onondaga Trail alongside misty ponds, up to incredible vistas, and crossing above waterfalls; past the highest point in Onondaga County on single track mountain bike trails; then back onto the Onondaga Trail to the finish line after running over (or around) the gravestone of one very unlucky guy from the 1700s.The marathon course adds the cruel but beautiful Fellows Hill loop and an out-and-back on the Onondaga Trail to Route 13. With the cooler temperatures and fall colors of late September, this is East Coast trail running at its absolute finest with all the rocks and roots that come with it. The memories will remain with you long after the blisters have healed and
the muscle soreness and fatigue have faded.Morgan Hill Trail Races takes place concurrently with the Hill to Hollow 100km and 100km relay, are Trail Sisters approved, and are UTMB Index races. It takes a tremendous amount of work by a great many people and organizations to provide public access to and maintain the beautiful land and trails upon which these races depend.
