Race Start Time and Location:
On August 23, we are back the second time at the world’s most iconic city parks, Central Park, for our 41st annual New York City Duathlon. The park is always gorgeous this time of year with trees and flowers in full summer bloom!
Here is what you can expect on race day. At 7:00 am the race will start by the Central Park Boat House parking lot which will also serve as your Transition area. Both Run #1 and #2 are 2.2 miles each, an out/back format. You’ll run along the east side and making a turn around point by the 96th street Margret L Kempner Playground (right after the crosswalk). No significant elevation gain other than at the beginning you have to run up Cat Hill.
The bike route consists of riding 2 loops around the entire Central Park drive. You are to ride the entire Central Park Drive, all 6 miles, and including the Harlem Hill. Total of 12 miles. The total elevation gain is about 300 ft per loop. The park is still open to the public and be mindful of other park users.

Volunteers:
You are needed from 4:30 am to 11 am. Our races start at 7:00 am unless stated the otherwise. Once you arrived, report to our Race Director Victor. He will go over your race duty as well as where you need to be. Don’t leave until the race is finished. You have to sign out to earn your race credit for your next race.
The New York City Duathlon is not USAT certified or sanctioned. USAT racing license isn’t required to compete in our race.

The Ramapo Rally goes on -- rain or shine!
Good news for non-BTCNJ members! Your Ramapo Rally registration fee also includes a special membership to BTCNJ. You will be able to access our ride schedule and find other member-specific information. Instructions as to how to activate your BTCNJ membership will be included in the confirmation email you will receive.
You can ride on your own or join escorted rides, which will leave at predetermined times on Rally morning. All riders under the age of 18 years old must be escorted by a parent or guardian. Experienced BTCNJ ride leaders will lead rides for the 12-, 25- and 50-mile routes. The 50-, 62-, 100-, and 125-mile routes will have experienced BTCNJ marshals. All century and 125-mile route riders must depart by 8:00 a.m. All riders must finish by 4:30 p.m.
Registered riders can pick up cue sheets at check-in, and there will be knowledgeable advisers to answer questions. Links to GPS files will be available on the “Routes” Tab ( www.ramaporally.com ) one week before the Rally. Please take a look at BTCNJ’s 2026 Ramapo Rally Guide for Riders for additional information.

12-mile route
This is a ride for beginners and families on a route with 450 feet of elevation, travels through mostly residential streets and has a few rolling hills to test your energy. There will be one rest stop available for this route. Max grade is 5.1%, Route description is Rolling to flat.
25-mile route
This is a ride for beginners ready to try a longer distance to intermediate cyclists able to keep an average of 9 mph and above on a route with 1,058 feet of elevation that will challenge you with some rolling hills. There will be one rest stop available for this route. Max grade is 5.6%, Route description is rolling.
50-mile route
This ride is for intermediate cyclists able to keep an average of 11 mph and above on a route with 1,816 feet of elevation that will offer rolling to moderately hilly sections. There will be two rest stops servicing this route. Max grade is 6.7%, Route description is rolling.
62-mile route
This route is a classic metric for intermediate to experienced cyclists able to ride at averages of 13 mph and above on a route with 2,908 feet of elevation and a mix of moderate and hilly terrain. This route will be serviced by three rest stops. Max grade is 9.1%, Route description is hilly to moderately hilly.
100-mile route
The Ramapo Rally century is for experienced and skilled cyclists able to ride at averages of 14 mph and above on a route with 4,993 feet of elevation and some challenging hills. There will be four rest stops servicing this route. Max grade is 8.5%, Route description is hilly to moderately hilly.
125-mile route
This double metric is for experienced and skilled cyclists capable of reaching averages of 16 mph and above on a route with 6,227 feet of elevation and several challenging long and steep hills. Five rest stops will be available for this route. Max grade is 10.9%, Route description is hilly to moderately hilly.
The BTCNJ Ramapo Rally will follow any New Jersey State health guidelines that are in place on the day of the event. We want the Ramapo Rally to be as safe as possible for participants and volunteers. We will do our best to provide you with a fantastic, fun, and safe day riding with your friends, family and fellow members of the cycling community.
Event details and schedule
Check-in is open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Century and 125-mile riders are required to be on the road before 8:00 a.m. All riders must return to the start site by 5:00 p.m.
Check www.ramaporally.com for the schedule of escorted rides and other information pertinent to the event. All riders must wear helmets.
Make sure to bring a copy of the confirmation of your registration, a bike in good condition, water bottles and a helmet.
On arrival, you will be directed where to park. Make sure to check in at registration to receive your bib, wristband (required for rest stop goodies and lunch). Cue sheets will also be available near the registration area.
Refunds will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Absolutely no refunds will be given after July 31, 2026.

Want to take on the triathlon with your crew? Relay teams of two or three athletes can divide the swim, bike, and run however they like. Maybe one teammate does the swim, another tackles the bike, and the last handles the run—or double up if someone’s feeling ambitious. Friends, family, coworkers—everyone’s welcome. All ages and team combos are encouraged! Just make sure to register as a group.
Course Overview:
Start with a 400-meter open water swim at Crescent Cove Beach in Hopatcong. From there, hit the road for a beautiful AND challenging 12.5-mile bike course through the Northwood section of town and into Jefferson before looping back. Finish strong with a 3.1-mile out-and-back run along Lakeside Blvd to Maxim Glen and back—where a big finish line celebration awaits.

Founded in 2018, The Triboro Adventure Tour is the only race that will take you on a triple borough journey from Queens through Manhattan and the Bronx! Take a tour through South Bronx, East Harlem and Randall’s Island via the Triborough Bridge for miles of adventure starting & finishing in Astoria, Queens
Triboro - not only because you’re going through three boroughs but also up and over the Triborough Bridge to start and finish.
Adventure - as in “choose your own adventure” you can hit the checkpoints in any order you like.
Tour - you’ll get a route thru the city definitely less traveled, however no less scenic than the usual tourist traps, perfect for out of towners or nyc natives!
Truly a race against the clock, runners will need to navigate the best way they see fit for themselves to get through the course fastest. In order to successfully complete the race, you must reach the five checkpoints laid out on the map. It’s completely up to you on how you will get to each checkpoint, so race strategy and good planning will account for as much of an advantage as your pace. Total distance ~12 miles

Paterson Great Falls 5k is a 3.1 mile race is for both the serious athlete looking for a PR or an individual looking for a fun experience with family and friends on Labor Day. This race will take you through the historic sites of Paterson. The race will start alongside the Paterson Great Falls, run alongside the Lou Costello statue, run past the Paterson Museum, run past Hinchliffe Stadium, pass Veteran's Park, run in Pennington Park and back to the Paterson Great Falls towards the finish line.
Same Day registration and packet pick up starts at 7am at the Paterson Museum. Race starts at 8:30am

Closter's Dom Mircovich Memorial 5K - 45th Annual & Jim O'Halloran Kids Fun Run
Now in its 45th year, the 5k and Fun Run events will be held on its traditional Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Both events will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026. The Closter 5k is the longest running, continuous 5k in the Northern Valley. We've got the prettiest course around!
Please note that this year's town celebration ("NOT" Labor Day celebration) is scheduled for 6 September. See the Closter Recreation Commission site for more info. This year's town celebration will not coincide with the 5K and Fun Run.

Runners, history buffs, and families will come together on September 6, 2026, for the Princeton Battlefield 5K. Part of the RevolutionNJ Race Series, the event begins at 9:30 a.m. and offers a unique way to engage with New Jersey’s Revolutionary War history.
The RevolutionNJ Race Series draws inspiration from Jonas Cattell’s legendary run to warn American troops of a British attack at Red Bank Battlefield. This race is one of six in the series, with additional events planned at Cedar Bridge Tavern, Red Bank Battlefield, Fort Lee Historic Park, Monmouth Battlefield and Batsto Village.
Whether running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, participants will experience a race that blends fitness, history, and community celebration. The event offers an interactive way to honor the region's past.
