    Join us on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, on the Hillsborough High School Track.

    Be a part of the message of love and support to those in our community facing a medical crisis by logging a few laps around the track. We invite your entire family, all fitness levels, young and old, to come out and be a part of this event.

    Lanes 1-3: Reserved for Runners

    Lanes 4-6: Reserved for Walkers (no strollers, no dogs unless medically needed)

    Register online (It's free but donations are welcome)

    Arrive at the track anytime between 7 AM and 11:30. (Track closes at noon)

    Receive a bib that will count your laps for you.

    Start walking or running!

    We finally broke a 7-year record in 2023 and completed 5,754 laps or 1438.5 miles. Do we dare set a goal of 6,000 laps in 2025?

    2025 will mark the 11th annual 100 Laps of Healing event.

    • No strollers and no dogs! (unless medically necessary)

    OTHER WAYS TO HELP:

    • Encourage friends to donate to your effort.

    • Be an event sponsor to bring your own tent, table and signage to put track side.

    Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish.

    Pricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week, a runner shirt, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event.

    Challenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents, siblings, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches, braces, wheelchairs, etc. to be used by runners.

    Single Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab on the left side of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy.

    Awards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! Trophies will be awarded to the overall top finishers in each of the divisions listed below (broken out by boys and girls respectively):

    The Hillsborough YMCA Hop 5K brings families and the community together in a fun race that encourages everyone to strive for and reach a personal fitness goal. This event has continued to grow over the past 25 years and has become a fun, spring fitness tradition in the Hillsborough community.

    The generous support of Hop 5K sponsors, and proceeds from the event, contribute to the Y’s ability provide financial assistance so that vital programs and services are accessible to all. Together, we transform lives by ensuring that everyone has the resources, opportunities, and support needed to thrive.

    The 5K:

    • Start at the Hillsborough YMCA (19 East Mountain Road) and cruise through fast and flat neighborhoods before finishing at the Hillsborough Municipal Building (379 South Branch Road).

    • Receive a commemorative shirt and bib.

    • USATF Certified Grand Prix Event with a NET DOWN HILL COURSE.

    • Awards for top 3 (male, female, nonbinary), top parent/child teams. Age groups: 8 and under, 9 to 11, 12 to 14, then 15 to 90+ in 5-year age groups (male / female)

    • Both competitive and walker friendly!

    • Registration fees are $30 through 4/30, then $35 until race day

    The Virtual 5K:

    • The perfect event for those who want to support the Hillsborough YMCA but cannot join us on race day and/or prefer to complete the distance at their own time and place.

    • Receive a commemorative shirt and bib.

    • Log your 5K results on our website to be a part of the virtual race community.

    • Registration fees are $30 through 4/30, then $35 until race day
