.
Cannonball Running Festival is the LARGEST celebration of running in our region.
Race distances include Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Kids Dash AND a bonus challenge option. The backdrop for the races is the gorgeous A & Y greenway in Greensboro, NC and Country Park. The start/finish for all events take place in Country Park, Greensboro's running Mecca.
Whether a veteran to distance running or a relative newbie, this event is a MUST DO for the course, the schwag, the glory, and the PARTY!
In true celebration of the region, local craft breweries pour all day Saturday for participants and spectators. Participants have two craft brews included with their race registration and spectators are able to purchase with all funds generated from beer sales going directly to our charity partner, Brenner Children's.
What is that challenge? The Double Barrel Challenge!
The Friday night 5K allows the unique opportunity to race in the evening AND opens up the challenge of participating in either the 10K, half marathon or marathon on Saturday. Double Barrel Challenge participants receive two shirts and two custom finisher medals (one for each event), PLUS bonus bling for completing the Double Barrel Challenge. Not to mention extra beer and bragging rights!!!
All race participants will receive a custom finishers medal (Kids dash will not receive a medal or shirt, but their own "goodies'), t-shirt, food, beer (21 and up), FREE professional race photos and a celebration! Everyone, friends and family can enjoy the post-race celebration with live music, awards ceremony and activities.
You must register 2 weeks prior to event to guarantee a shirt.
What is the RAH?™
We’re glad you asked.
RAH! represents the celebration of an annual event with hundreds of runners and thousands of fans in the beautiful, historic neighborhood of Ardmore in Winston-Salem.
RAH! stands for Run Against Hunger because it’s a food drive with all net proceeds benefiting the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, which assists food insecure and at-risk families and children right in our own neighborhoods.
RAH! is the sound of an entire community coming together to do something really worth cheering for. The race occurs the third Saturday in October, annually.
The 2025 RAH! features a fun run (1 mile), a 5K, and a 10K. This race is designed for everyone, from lightening-fast runners and avid athletes to power walkers and first-time participants. You can complete this in person or virtually!
• All runners, walkers and wheelchair racers are welcome.
• Strollers are permitted.
• Pets are not allowed on the race course.
• Start times: The 10K will begin at 8:00AM. The Fun Run starts at 8:10AM. The 5K will begin at 9:15AM. Awards ceremony will follow the 5K.
Please consider parking at Ardmore Baptist Church or Ardmore United Methodist Church. Both are located about 0.5 miles (~9 min) walk from Redeemer.
The Ardmore RAH 5K and 10K races are sanctioned by USA Track & Field.

History
Members of Redeemer Church and the Ardmore Neighborhood Association founded the Ardmore 5K in 2001. Our goal was to strengthen the community by uniting for a meaningful cause: fighting hunger. More than $300,000 has been donated to Second Harvest Food Bank — $26,000 last year alone – which has provided more than 2 MILLION meals to our neighbors. In 2013, the addition of a 10K led us to rename the Ardmore 5K to the Run Against Hunger – the RAH! The expanded event has drawn more participants, generated more excitement and raised more money and awareness of the fight against hunger.

The NCANA Run for Joy is a 5K race that supports mental health advocacy and wellness for health care trainees. Mental health issues and suicide are becoming increasingly common among health care trainees and providers. Training programs are usually very rigorous, caring for patients is stressful, and those who care for others often feel that they can’t or shouldn’t admit that they need care themselves. Unfortunately, there is often a stigma associated with mental illness, and trainees may feel that admitting that they struggle could damage their careers.
Run for Joy seeks to combat this stigma and support the mental wellness of heath care trainees. Proceeds from the race help finance initiatives that enhance mental wellness and provide support for those needing mental health services. Donations and race proceeds are managed by Run for Joy, Inc, a charitable organization established for this purpose. Run for Joy was started after the tragic death of Katelyn Joy Beardsley. Katelyn was a vibrant young woman who brought immense joy to everyone who knew her. She had a strong love for God and for people. She was unapologetically authentic and could sit with people in their deepest sadness or laugh with them in their highest joys. Katelyn actively counseled and encouraged many others in the midst of their depression, and we know lives were preserved because of her. Katelyn also loved running, which was her favorite way to combat her own depression and anxiety. In the summer of 2018, Katelyn enrolled in the Nurse Anesthesia program at Wake
Forest University School of Medicine to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a CRNA. Unfortunately, that dream was never realized. On June 11, 2020, two months prior to graduation, Katelyn died by suicide. We will never know all the things that led to this tragic end to such a beautiful life. Because Katelyn was high functioning and upbeat, no one saw this coming. Data show that many others are struggling like Katelyn. Run for Joy seeks to bring help and awareness to this critical situation.
