Kick off your Super Bowl Sunday with a 5k run/walk thru beautiful Downtown Lansing in front of our State Capitol! Run a fast accurate race, stay healthy and fit and then go and enjoy your Super Bowl Party!
Location: The start and finish of the race is in front of the Michigan State Capitol Building.
Start Time: 10 AM
Packet pick up: Saturday February 7th from 12:30 to 4 pm at Central United Methodist Church 215 N Capitol Ave Lansing. You are able to pick up packets for family and friends on their behalf. It is a great idea to come to Downtown Lansing on Saturday and pick up your bib # and shirt so on Sunday morning you can stay in your warm car and hop out 10 minutes before the race and head to the start. There is ample free parking in Downtown Lansing on Saturday.
Race day packet pickup: will begin at 8:30 am to 9:45 am at Central United Methodist Church 215 N Capitol Ave Lansing.
Course: This is a 2 loop course. The start and finish is on Capitol Ave in front of the State Capitol. This will be an accurate and fast 3.1 mile course on the streets of Downtown Lansing. Your results will include your time for the first loop. After the race you will be able to see how evenly paced you ran the race! Course map and description.
SNOW! If there is snow the morning of the race the course will be plowed and salted
Parking: Parking is free on all downtown streets on the weekends. Park along Michigan Ave and Washington St., or the side streets along Washington. The 2 lots in front of the Lugnut Baseball Stadium on Michigan Ave. and the lot at the Lansing Center on the corner of Michigan Ave. and Cedar St. are free on the weekends, you may come and go as you please with no need for a permit.
Proceeds from the race go to support High School and Middle School Cross Country and Track programs, and Youth Running Clubs through the Michigan Running Foundation grant program.

Join us for the Pi Day 5k, taking place on Saturday March 14 at Hawk Island Park. This fun-run raises money for Impression 5 Science Center's scholarship program. Impression 5 Science Center is a dynamic, interactive space for families to play, create, and challenge their understanding of science together. By participating in this event, you’ll support their scholarship programs, which increase access to their exhibits and experiences for children and families throughout our community. All participants receive a t-shirt, medal and free slice of pie after the race! If participating isn't the right fit, there is also an opportunity to volunteer during the event.

Over 700 Lansing-area residents have joined this year’s Blue Cross Winter Warm Up presented by the Playmakers Fitness Foundation and the Community Partners in Health. This free, eight-week 5K training challenge is designed to help residents of all ages take their first step toward fitness. Winter Warm Up participants have been training with certified Good Form Running and Walking coaches from the Playmakers Fitness Foundation since January, and many will be running or walking their first ever 5K. All registered participants get same-day FREE entry into the zoo!! The 5K run/walk will start and finish near the entrance of the zoo and will go along the scenic Lansing River Trail. All proceeds go to youth and families in Ingham County. The Child Benefit Fund has been assisting at-risk families in Ingham County for over 40 years, providing funding for clothing, sports fees and equipment, emergency needs, extra-curricular activities, and holiday gifts for approximately 250-300 children per year. 5K Run/Walk: The 5K is chip-timed on a beautiful, scenic, and accurate course along the Lansing River Trail. All participants will receive a t-shirt and finisher's medal. The race will have an open start time from 11:00 AM until 11:15 AM for convenience. If you are looking for a more competitive race, please be at the start line at 10:55 AM. Otherwise, you can start the race at your leisure. The entire course is paved, so it is stroller friendly.
Virtual Option: Can't join us in person? We are also offering a VIRTUAL option. Run or walk with us from anywhere, anytime on April 4. We will ship the t-shirts and medals directly to you!
Easter Egg Hunt: We are happy to have an Easter Egg Hunt again for this year's event! All children under 12 will need to register and will receive a bag, t-shirt, and a guaranteed minimum number of eggs from the egg course. The Easter Egg Hunt begins at 10:30 AM and will be at the Tiger Den Pavilion.
Family pricing: Have other friends or family wishing to participate? Register with 3 or more people and receive a discount of $3 per registrant.

Overall Awards: Overall, Master (over 40), and Grand Master (over 50) male and female will receive an award

Kids Run Lansing is a FREE after school running program designed to teach kids the foundations of running with Good Form and build a life long love of the sport and fitness. The Playmakers Fitness Foundation, in collaboration with the Lansing School District, will run this program at participating Lansing School District elementary schools.
The program will run for one hour after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays - a snack will be provided.
Parent Pick up is required.
Kids will be coached in running and proper form through Playmakers' Kid's Running Club curriculum by Certified Good Form Running Coaches. By the end of the program, all kids will complete a 2 mile fun run finale!

We are super excited because it is the 11th Anniversary of the Paper Chase this year! The race will start at Lansing Shuffle and go south along the Lansing River Trail, turn around at the halfway point, and come back. We are also having a raffle where participants can purchase tickets to win prizes!!
Pricing: A race t-shirt will be included in the entry fee for all participants who register on or before May 13th, 2026. Participants who register after this date will receive a t-shirt on a first-come first-served basis. Help us reach our goal of 150 participants this year! Law firms and legal organizations are encouraged to form teams. Teams consist of a minimum of two people. Awards will be presented to the fastest three (3) overall male and female finishers. A portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit the Michigan Capital Region Big Brothers Big Sisters, which facilitates and supports meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and youth (“Littles”). Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region serves children in Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia and Shiawassee counties. They develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. A portion of the proceeds from the race will also benefit the Young Lawyers Section of the Ingham County Bar Association, which provides networking and educational opportunities to young lawyers and law students at low or no cost.

2026 marks the 33rd anniversary of the Capital City River Run.
The Capital City River Run makes a real impact within the community, benefiting Impression 5 Science Center and its mission to provide children and families access to science exploration through hands-on exhibits and participatory programming.
Annual races include a Half Marathon, 5K Walk/Run, and the Sohn’s Kid’s Race. All half marathon and 5K race participants receive a crew neck sweatshirt (your choice of two colors) and finishers medal. The race will be chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and you can check your results during the race and on the web at Playmakers.com.
The kids races will take place on Saturday, September 20 at 11AM at Impression 5 Science Center. The one mile race will take place on the Lansing River Trail. All participants will be invited to spend the day at the Science Museum and enjoy a pizza party after the event. Participants of the event will get a Stainless Steel Water Bottle and a finishers medal.
The half marathon, and 5K races will start on Michigan Ave in front of the Lansing Center, utilizing Michigan Ave, Grand River Ave, MSU campus and the Lansing River Trail and will end on Grand Ave, utilizing Adado Park in downtown Lansing. Both races will start at 8AM on Sunday, September 21.

Proceeds to this event help support the agency’s mission to create 1-to-1 mentoring relationships so that all youth achieve their full potential!

During the past two years, it has become clear that inflation and food prices are exacerbating hunger across America. According to a 2023 United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) 2023 report, the number of people living in food insecure households in the U.S. in 2022 increased to 44 million. This is an increase of more than 30 percent for all individuals and 40 percent for children compared the previous year — the highest rate and number since 2014 and the largest one-year increase in food insecurity since 2008.
