A Festival Built Around Cycling Culture
Bike Fest at Trail Hub brings together mountain bikers, gravel riders, brands, and the cycling community for a one-day festival built around the spirit of the ride.
Set at Trail Hub with direct access to Durham Forest and the surrounding gravel road network, the event blends competitive racing with exploration and a welcoming festival atmosphere.
Whether you’re racing the MTB Enduro, riding the Gravel Fondo, or coming to experience the festival, Bike Fest is about reconnecting riders with what makes cycling special.
Event Selection
Riders can choose from three distinct experiences, each offering a different way to engage with the terrain and the day.
MTB Enduro
The MTB Enduro will host the opening round of the Ontario Enduro Series, bringing competitive racing to Trail Hub and the Durham Forest trail network. Riders can choose between Short Course, Long Course, and Kids Course options, each designed to match different levels of experience while maintaining the core Enduro format of timed downhill stages and untimed transitions across a mix of technical and flow trails.
The E-MTB Enduro Long Course introduces an additional category for electric mountain bikes, capped at 50 riders to maintain a premium race experience. This category is open to Male and Female riders aged 19+, using Class 1 E-MTBs only, and follows the same course structure as the traditional Long Course.
For younger riders under 19, the Kids Course offers a welcoming, low-pressure way to be part of the event.
Gravel Fondo
The Gravel Fondo explores the rolling gravel roads and rural landscapes surrounding Trail Hub, offering a different rhythm to the day. With a 50km Short Course and a 100–110km Long Course, riders can settle into the terrain, take in the scenery, and experience some of the best gravel riding in the region.
Optional categories are available for Junior riders (19 & under, Male and Female), alongside a non-competitive Gravel Social Ride for those who prefer a more relaxed experience. This category removes timing and podiums entirely, allowing riders to focus purely on the ride.
Experience Highlights
Courses are fully marked and supported, with professional timing included for Enduro participants. Throughout the day, riders have access to the Festival & Expo Village, where brand activations, product showcases, and demos create an engaging backdrop to the event.
Food and beverage will be available from Nest at Trail Hub, while the post-ride atmosphere naturally shifts into a social, relaxed environment as riders return from the course and reconnect.
Festival & Expo Village
At the center of Bike Fest is the Festival & Expo Village, where the energy of the day comes together.
Cycling brands, product showcases, and demo opportunities create space for discovery, while food, drink, and music set the tone for a lively but approachable atmosphere. It’s a place to regroup after your ride, connect with other riders, and spend time within the cycling community.
Even if you’re not racing, the village offers a reason to come out and be part of the day.
Event Overview
The MTB Enduro is built around multiple timed downhill stages, linked by untimed transitions, creating a race format that rewards both skill and strategy. Riders can expect three to four hours of riding across a mix of technical and flow trails within Durham Forest, finishing back at Trail Hub in the heart of the festival.
The Gravel Fondo offers a different pace, guiding riders along scenic gravel routes through Durham Region. With rolling terrain, quiet backroads, and multiple route distances, the experience is designed to be both challenging and immersive, beginning and ending at Trail Hub.
Who Should Attend
Bike Fest is designed for anyone who feels connected to cycling, whether that connection is competitive, social, or simply recreational.
Mountain bikers, gravel riders, cycling clubs, and training groups will all find a place here, alongside independent bike shops, cycling brands, and those drawn to outdoor and endurance sport culture. Trail Hub members, first-time visitors, and curious spectators are equally welcome.
You might come to race, ride, spectate, or simply spend the day in a setting that brings the cycling community together.

You must purchase a weekend pass in order to attend any of the free or additional cost events at Rooted. There are no refunds allowed but you may transfer your ticket to another participant here on BikeReg if there is someone on the waitlist to buy your ticket. You can also sell your ticket to someone and give us their email address to update attendee information, we won't be participating in the financial transaction of offline sales, but need
participants info to be accurate. This is a rain or shine event. We are able to pivot a bit to still have a great event even if it happens to rain. >> What if Rooted sells out? When tickets sell out you can sign up for a waitlist ticket. You won’t be charged unless a ticket becomes available. The last date for waitlist tickets is June 30th. You must remove yourself from the waitlist ticket if you change your mind or you could be charged if someone requests to transfer their ticket before that date. ----- * ----- What is Rooted all about, anyway? Once upon a time (ok, 2020) Heather Kinal was craving a place to learn new skills and ride her mountain bike alongside other women. The only problem? Nothing like this existed within a ten-hour drive (or more!?) of her home in western New York. So she decided to create Rooted: an all-level women’s mountain bike festival built around skills, confidence, community, and nature. Now, in its seventh year, Rooted has become an event that women travel
hours to participate in – including from over 15 different states across the US and Canada. This year Justina Dore has taken on the role of Event Director and we are excited to watch Rooted continue to develop under her leadership. We have created a community that strives to destigmatize mountain bike culture and empower anyone who identifies as a woman, non-binary or trans person, of all body types, colors and abilities. Our values: * Safety - of the body, mind, and soul * Love - for self, for others, and for the space we occupy * Welcoming - of everyone who wants to be in the space * Open-Mindedness - to try new things, to meet new people, and to exit your comfort zone * Community - centering and sustaining the Rooted community, our local communities, and the international riding community ----- * ----- Ready to bask in the great outdoors, build your mountain bike skills, and meet your new best friends? It’s all waiting for you at Rooted: A safe, welcoming, empowering community for anyone
– of any body type or ability – who identifies as a woman, trans or non-binary person. The opportunity to level up your skills, education, and confidence – including group rides, maintenance clinics, and more. And last but not least: the time and space to escape the daily grind and get back in touch with yourself – think solo time, nature hikes, yoga, shopping, camping, and kicking back next to a nightly bonfire (marshmallows included). We can’t wait to see you there!
BackRoads Brews + Shoes Track Fest
runners, take your mark!
Experience our 3rd annual track festival, with race distances for all ages!
Get ready for our 3rd annual summer track festival - presented by New Balance! On the evening of Friday, July 10th, we're replacing the roads with the track over at College Avenue Secondary School in Woodstock!
With several distance options and exciting disciplines, there’s an event for all ages, paces, and members of the running community! And don’t worry - your little ones won’t miss out! We’ve got 3 races for them too!
We strongly believe that giving kids the opportunity to participate in sport will lead them on to a healthy lifestyle, fulfilment in school, and a strong sense of work ethic and belonging. Our kids races range from 100M, 400M (1 lap), and 1KM (2.5 laps). Kids MUST be registered by a parent or guardian. A FANTASTIC way to get your children excited, and involved in an approachable sport!
This year, we're capping off the evening with an Elimination Mile and a team 4 x 400m relay!
What is an Elimination Mile? A mile is 4 laps around the track and the last runner on each lap will be eliminated from the race. Whoever is remaining on the last lap will race for a New Balance Prize Pack!
Summer Track Fest is a grassroots & unsanctioned event, with the goal of bringing our running community together as the sun goes down. Use this event as a time trial on a soft surfaced track, where pancake flat running, fast times, and cheering on your friends, children, and community is a guarantee!
Your entry fee will go towards our efforts in booking out the venue, with further proceeds going towards youth programs put on by London Western Track and Field Club. The Kids 100m and 400m events are FREE!
There will be complimentary water and electrolytes for everyone, along with treats for participants!
