Race Day Participation:
We encourage all participants to carry their own hydration and nutrition for the event. We will have limited self-serve water stations.
The event is chip-timed. Official results will be posted after the event.
Brunch is included with in-person event registrations.
Additional brunch tickets can be purchased when registering.
All Participants Receive A Hypo Half Blanket, Tote Bag, & Finishers Medal
All in-person participants will have the opportunity to win a pair of Altra running shoes. Two pairs will be available at each location.
The Running Room Events Team is excited to announce that we will be hosting in-person events in select cities in 2026. If you can't attend in person, don’t worry—we also offer a Virtual Hypothermic Half option.

Hoot! Hoot! Calling all night owls, this race is for you. The Night Owl 5KM is a family-friendly running/walking event that occurs… you guessed it… at night.
In its 6th year, this run will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the picturesque Point Pleasant Park.
Space is limited, so sign up early. In owl seriousness, you don't want to miss this race. It's going to be a hoot!

Urban Trail Racing is kicking off the spring season in this beautiful protected wilderness area. We kick off from Maskwa Aquatics Club parking lot and head into this amazing wilderness area. Lots of single track, beautiful lakes, and a chance to find your way in this protected wilderness. Similar to last year we're bringing back Halifax Search and Rescue's Eco-Endurance Challenge (E2C). You may see some of the 24 hour contestants on the course.
This year the race is on Sunday again.

We are upping our leave no trace approach by asking all participants to bring drinking containers with them for the aid stations.

Onsite medical support will be provided by Halifax Search & Rescue Medical teams.

Trail stewards from Friends of Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes will be volunteering to help with directions.

Funds raised beyond costs will be donated to Halifax Search & Rescue and Friends of Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes

GPX route will be uploaded on our site.
As with all of our races we will be supporting Halifax Search & Rescue and the local Friends of Blue Mountain Birch Cove Lakes through donations.

Run Like HECS 2026 is the fourth annual event for our non-profit preschool, Halifax Early Childhood School. Every year we raise funds to grow and maintain our special school, while hosting a running event for families, competitive runners, and people of all ages and abilities.
Races: Saturday, June 6 at Point Pleasant Park (Lower parking lot, by Black Rock Beach). Rain or Shine!
9:00am-11:00am (individual event times TBD)
9:00am: Adult 5km run/walk begins
9:40am: 400m children's run/dash begins
10:00am: 1 km children's race begins
11:00am - BYO picnic by the ocean
Prizes available for top male and female finishers of the 5km race, and all children participating will be entered to win a series of draw prizes.
