16th Annual Hopedale Blue Raider 5K Run

For more than 50 years, the Arnold Mills 4M Road Race has been a staple event in Cumberland, RI. Held every Fourth of July holiday, the popular four-mile race draws an average of 500 participants each and every year to the starting line, including some top talent from throughout the state and often from beyond the borders. The race, which is run on a moderately-challenging course in a rural community, takes part in conjunction with the town's annual parade. In years past, U.S. Olympians Matt Centrowitz Sr. and Pete Pfitzinger, triathlon legend Karen Smyers, and RI marathon icon Bobby Doyle have made their marks at Arnold Mills. • $25 for 18 and under participants

• $25 until May 31st

• $30 until July 3rd (Online registration closes at 2pm on July 3rd)

• $35 at packet pickup or on race day and onsite July 3rd.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE THURSDAY JULY 3 AT 6PM. ON-SITE REGISTRATION WILL BE ALSO BE AVAILABLE.

The race will begin promptly at 9 a.m. The race starts and finishes near the Cumberland Fire Department - Station 5, 50 Arnold Mills Road, Cumberland, RI. There will be a packet pickup (Bib number, T-shirt) on July 3 from 4-6 p.m.at The Lodge at Diamond Hill, 4097 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI. Race day registration as well as packet pickup for pre-registered participants will take place from 7:30-8:45 a.m., at the Cumberland Fire Department.

We are expecting over 700 runners at this year's race, so please plan your time accordingly. Please arrive early as parking will be limited.

PARKING. There will be parking at the Community School, 15 Arnold Mills Road, and Quaker Road, both just a short distance from the race's start and finish line.

Race Details

• Both races start and end at Kelleher Field.

• USATF Certified out & back course for both races on the car-free Assabet River Rail Trail.

• 10K Race: Runners Only.

• 5K Race: Walkers and runners are Welcome!

• Awards: Top overall male and female finishers, per race, per age group!

• Team/Corporate Challenge: Awards to the company or team with the most runners participating in the races.

• A 90-minute time limit will apply to the 10K Race. Runners who have not reached the turnaround point after 45 minutes will be turned around on the course by volunteers.

• One free beer for all registered runners over the age of 21.

• Free smoothies, freshly grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, and more post-run snacks!

• Entry fee for both races is $40. Race day signup available for $45.

• All participants who register before 6/21/2026 will receive a technical shirt in their chosen size. (After that, sizes and availability will be limited).

Join us for the Annual Hot to Trot 5k on Saturday, July 26, 2025. This race grows bigger each year, so don’t miss out on all the fun. It’s a mostly flat family-friendly course, a perfect route for seasoned runners looking to PR, for the casual runner that’s in no rush, and for the entire family to take a walk before the day gets too hot! Every registrant will receive a cool performance-wicking t-shirt, breakfast, and maybe even a medal? Awards are given out to top runners, but the biggest hit of the day is our awesome t-shirts! In order to be guaranteed a t-shirt register by Thursday, July 10th.
