    Train with Fleet Feet Knoxville for the The Big Run 5K! Whether you're just starting out, wanting to up your mileage, or looking to get faster, we're here to help you reach your goals! We offer a variety of run/walk programs for all levels, aimed to help you keep moving, stay motivated and have fun! Enjoy the accountability with your fellow run program team members and receive coaching and training tips along the way. We meet once a week starting the week of April 13th.

    • Workouts: Mondays at 6:30 PM starting the week of April 13, 2026

    • Meeting Location: Most of the runs will be at the Cove at Concord Park (10901 South Northshore Drive Knoxville, TN 37922) where the race is held

    • Target Race: The Big Run 5K on Wed, June 3, 2026

    • Q&A Session: Thursday April 2 at 6:00pm. This open-to-all discussion will be followed by a Open Group Walk/Run at 6:30pm.

    • Gear Up Week: Special discounts just for training program members the first week of training.

    • Participants Receive: Detailed weekly training schedule, guidance and advice from experienced coaches, weekly group training runs, information sessions about proper running form, hydration, nutrition, etc., team technical t-shirt.

    • Registration Fee: $50 before April 5th; $75 from April 6th on (fee does not include processing fees or race entry fee)

    Beginner 5K

    Challenge yourself to complete a 5K! The benefits of exercise are many, with the most important being: improved cardiovascular health, improved bone health, improved mood and better coordination. The program focuses on beginners, but all levels of walkers and runners are welcome. Along the way we’ll be providing you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. Plus, you’ll have the camaraderie of others just like you. Sign up today to run your first 5K and commit to making a life change.

    Advanced 5K

    Improve your 5K time and fitness level with our Advanced 5k training program. This training program is designed to teach you more advanced running techniques and to help you continue on your running journey in a supportive environment. We want to help you beat your previous personal records and set new goals for yourself, all the while providing guidance, motivation, weekly group training runs, and more advanced educational clinics. We will cover topics designed to help you improve your 5K time such as proper pacing and good form, as well as building on previous topics like nutrition, choosing the right gear, and injury prevention. Before beginning the program, participants should be able to run 3 miles at a steady pace with limited walk breaks.

    Course Description and Highlights: We are super excited to showcase the Hal Canfield Memorial Mile during the Volunteer Track Classic! Pursue your PR with us in 2026!

    Proceeds from this race go to the Hal Canfield Endowment Scholarship fund. Scholarships are distributed each year to local graduating high school athletes for college tuition to honor KTC Founder Hal Canfield.

    Registration & Entry Fee (NO REFUNDS and NO TRANSFERS): $15. There is no race day registration.

    The Woolf is on the run! Come join us this April for this inaugural 5K & 1 Mile kids fun run in Knoxville!

    Our mission at Woolfson Eye Institute is to help individuals achieve better vision. We

    know that not all can be helped with surgical options, which is why we are presenting

    the first ever Woolf on the Run 5K. Proceeds and donations from this event will be given to the

    Tennessee School for the Blind located in Nashville, TN.

    The race will run from Victor Ashe Park feature paved greenways on an out and back lollipop loop. Course begins at the Pavilion area of Victor Ashe Park. The Fun Run will be an out and back course, parents are welcome to chaperone their young runners without registering themselves.

    GIVEAWAYS:

    All 5K participants will receive a T-shirt and goody bag, sign up before April 5th to ensure your T-shirt size!

    AWARDS:

    Age groups medal awards for 5K race will be awarded in every 10 year increment.

    WATER STOPS: Aid/ Water stations will be available on the course around mile 1.25. These will be stocked with Water for runners.

    PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION: Parking is conveniently available in the park near the Start/ Finish area.

    Proceeds for this race will go to benefiting the Tennessee School for the Blind. Proceeds and donations will go directly to the school, allowing students to have opportunities for class trips, extra school supplies, and

    other adventures in learning!

    Course Description and Highlights: USATF Certified. Loop course on Cherokee Boulevard beginning and ending at the west parking lot.

    Packet Pick Up: Early pickup option - Wednesday April 29, 5pm-7pm, at Runner’s Market in Bearden. Day of race - 6:15am-745am.

    Cost for ages 17 and under is $25 until April 15 then $35 for late registration (this applies to in-person only). Race Day $40

    T-shirts: Unisex sized t-shirts for registrants. Pre-registered (through April 21) runners will receive them at early packet pick or on race day. Please note our new shirt policy: Anyone registering after April 21 will receive shirts while supplies last. The shirt order will be placed on April 22nd and when the inventory runs out in the RunSignUp system then there will be no more shirts. No re-orders.

    During registration, you can select the "No Tee, Plant a Tree" option. We get it, even the coolest looking shirts sometimes end up collecting dust. If you choose this option, KTC will work with local East TN organizations to plant trees in your honor!

    Awards: Awards to the top 3 Overall, age groups, and specialty categories. Top Masters (As defined by fastest person age 40 and above, not limited to 40-49) Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 50 and above, not limited to 50-59), Senior Grandmasters (As defined by fastest person age 60 and above, not limited to 60-69) male and female.

    Grand Prix Points Team Competition: The Dogwood Classic is on the 2026 Team Competition schedule. 2026 Grand Prix Points awarded winners in various categories and age groups. Points accumulate throughout the year. KTC recognizes the top 10 men and women in the Grand Prix series at the New Year’s Day 5K on January 1, 2027. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix Points, participants must be a member of KTC and must volunteer for at least 3 KTC races throughout the year.

    Post Race Refreshments: We'll have assorted refreshments will be provided post race in the event tent.

    Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. The 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes. KTC discourages the use of headphones at events.
