We are so excited for your child to participate in NICA Discovery!

All NICA Discovery adult leaders are background checked and hold a coaching license from NICA. There will always be at least 2

leaders who have current first aid training.

New Friends is the introductory level and is aimed at children who are new to biking but have some limited experience with neighborhood or urban riding. These are children who can already balance and pedal a bike, but may have never ventured “off road.” Games and activities work on learning to better ride and operate a bike preparation for later buildable skills, and increasing stamina.

Participants must be able to ride a bike without training wheels before joining a program and must be in 7-11 years old by program start date.

NICA Discovery Fallston, MD meets at Edgeley Park on Mondays at 5:30 pm

A small pack that fits snugly and is just big enough to carry a water bottle and snacks, and maybe a small found treasure or two is great.

  • Diamond in the Rough Triathlon [kineticmultisports.com] [Register at runsignup.com]

    Sat, Jul 11, 2026 at 7:30 AM

Midway between Baltimore and Philadelphia, this race is staged out of beautiful Perryville Community Park in Perryville, Maryland which is truly a hidden gem, a diamond in the rough. Nestled on

forested bluffs overlooking the top of the Chesapeake Bay this park makes for the epicenter of a great race. The swim takes place in the Chesapeake Bay and features an in water start off the dock. The Sprint bike course is a rolling out and back course while the Olympic bike course is technical with a mix of suburbia, rolling farm country and a fast, flat drag strip along River Road. The run course is mostly flat and winds its way along the Chesapeake Bay on sidewalks and back roads. This event is not to be missed and Cecil County is a great area to explore. Sailing, hiking, dining and more can be found minutes from the race site, you can learn more HERE.

Be sure to check out our race video HERE, then sign up below!

****All athletes must stay in the park until the bike route is clear of incoming bikes. If you must leave prior to the bike course being clear you MUST park outside the park at the fire department lot, approximately 1.35 mile from the race site. If you park inside the park, all cars will be “locked in” until the police deem the roads safe to allow cars to exit. Our goal is a safe race for ALL athletes and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

  • North East Triathlon [kineticmultisports.com] [Register at runsignup.com]

    Sun, Aug 23, 2026 at 7:30 AM

The North East Triathlon is an amazing race in a beautiful location. Just minutes from I-95, a Chesapeake Bay time trial swim and well paved country roads along Elk Neck State Forest make this a

great race. The course is low traffic, hilly and technical in places, but has plenty of straightaways and beautiful views. The run course is a lightly rolling, out and back course on the shoulder heading south of town. This Chesapeake Bay waterfront town is worth a weekend away, there are plenty of boats, parks, restaurants and roads to explore.

We know you will love this race, watch our race video to learn more.

    The Event

Address - 2813 Jerusalem Mill Road, Kingsville MD 21087

6 Hours at the Mill is a 6 hour individual, duo or team relay race. If you are looking for a fun, laid-back, low-cost, competitive experience where the proceeds go to a few awesome non-profit organizations, then sign up before we reach the 200 racer cap. The approximately five mile long course is challenging but approachable for all ages and skill levels.

    Social Media Updates

For updates please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/6-Hours-at-the-Mill-100083232973843/

    The Course

The course is a roughly 5 mile loop with 588 feet of climbing per lap. The course starts relatively flat in the rolling fields of Jerusalem Mill and then narrows a bit as the course gains elevation as it enters into the wooded mixture of singletrack and doubletrack. The course consists of rugged classic East Coast single track. Roots, rocks, significant elevation gains, stream crossings, etc. make for a technical challenge on the first leg of the course. Second half of the course is mostly downhill and / or flat giving a reprieve before returning to the pits and starting the roughly 5 mile loop over. Pits and start / finish area will be in grassy open fields.

Preliminary race lap information can be found at https://www.trailforks.com/routepopular/81337289/ This is close to the final course, but there will be a few slight changes. The file will be updated to reflect any changes to the course.

    Race Duration

The race begins at 9:00am EST with a mass wave start. All solo, duo, and team races are the same duration. Racers, or teams of racers, will complete as many laps as possible by the end time, 3:00pm EST. Racers in the same field with the same number of laps will be scored based on lowest total elapsed race time.

    Team Pits

Solo, Duo, and Teams may set up a pit along the course in the field. Team tents (EZ-Up style canopy tents) are permitted, but please take care to anchor tents sufficiently if there are strong winds forecast on race day. Pit selection will occur on a first come, first served basis. While a food truck will be on hand, please be sure to bring enough water and food for the duration of the event.

    Relay Transitions

Duo and Team categories are relay races. Scoring and timing will not identify individual racer by name so if you want to know your individual lap times you must keep track of which racer completed each lap. Racers may “tag” their teammate in the pit area but the incoming racer must start at the same location as the exiting racer and pass the “baton.” Duo and team racers may race in whatever order they like (example: Racer 1 could do 2 consecutive laps, followed by Racer 2 who does 1 lap, followed by Racer 3 who does 3 consecutive laps).

    Podiums

Prizes for the winner of each class, custom 6 Hours at the Mill medals for the top 3 finishers. Men and women open solo cash payout for Top 3.

Payout for open men and women is $150/$100/$50 for 5 or less registered racers and $200/$150/$100 if there are 6 or more registered racers in the category.

Podium presentations will begin at 4:00pm

    The Non-Profits

These events are a partnership between JAMSQUAD Cycling and the Gunpowder United Mountain Bike Operators (GUMBO). Proceeds from the events will support three nonprofit groups: JAMSQUAD Cycling which provides refurbished bicycles for underserved youth and those in recovery and GUMBO whose mission is to develop and maintain a world class trail system at Gunpowder Falls State Park. A donation will also be made to the Friends of Jerusalem Mill.

    Parking

Parking will take place in the fields near the start/finish area. Racers may drop off items for their pit and then move their vehicle to the designated parking area. Please follow the directions of parking volunteers and use caution when crossing the road.

    Partners

6 Hours at the Mill would not be possible without our amazing partners: Gunpowder Falls State Park, Friends of Jerusalem Mill, Independent Brewing Company, Bike Doctor of Bel Air, Kiddie Academy and Trek Bicycles.

    Weather Policy

Gunpowder Falls State Park and the Friends of Jerusalem Mill generously allows us to race on these wonderful trails. With their permission, the race will proceed if there is light rain. If there is heavy rain preceding the start or forecast for race day, the race will be postponed until Saturday, November 14, 2026. This race is a fundraiser (see above). In the event of inclement weather on both dates, the race will be cancelled. Please consider your registration fee a donation to the non-profit organizations.

    Common Courtesy

Please be respectful of the environment and its inhabitants. We would like to remind everyone that we all have a responsibility to leave the race course cleaner than we find it on race day. All refuse should be discarded into appropriate containers. Any rider found illegally discarding objects in the park, the roads leading to and from the race course, and the on the race course itself will be dealt with accordingly. Trash containers will be available for rider’s to use around the property.

    Sportsmanlike Conduct

The Race Promoters expect ALL spectators and riders to act like responsible adults. Use of profanity and blatant unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. This is a public park and family friendly event, so please be courteous to all volunteers and each other!
