- Running with Rhyme and Peace (RWRP) emerged in Jakarta in August 2023 as a close-knit group of friends seeking joyful, mindful movement amid the city's bustling pace. By early 2024, the crew opened to the public, welcoming runners of all levels to join easy-to-moderate runs ranging from 5Ks to half marathons. With about 30 members, RWRP nurtures a warm, inclusive community that meets on weekday evenings and weekend mornings, gathering at Kopi Api Coffee Roasters in Cikini to blend running with meaningful social connection. Their routes wind through Jakarta’s vibrant neighborhoods, parks, and riversides, offering a unique lens on the city’s dynamic contrasts—from modern high-rises to traditional markets. While the crew focuses on shared experience rather than competition, many members also participate in major city events like the Jakarta Marathon. Rooted in a spirit of rhythm and peace, RWRP celebrates running as a joyful, communal journey through the heart of Jakarta.
