12-HR OVERVIEW
Athletic Equation will be hosting its 18th Annual 12-Hour ATR on 13 SEPT 2025. The field will be limited to 100 Runners. We will be building off of the successes of our other ATRs. In our first 17 runnings, participants have claimed over 30,000 miles on the Prince William Forest Park trails. Bottom Line: Not the fastest, but the runner with the most mileage WINS THE SERIES!!! Imagine That....
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 12-HR ATR will be held in Prince William Forest Park (PWFP), www.nps.gov/prwi just outside of Triangle, VA in Prince William County. The Park is 17,000+ acres and has over 40 miles of trails. The course will be on a DIFFERENT set of trails than our 24-Hour ATR. The course will be a 6.5 mile looped figure eight (8). It is designed to challenge the novice and experienced trail runners alike. It will be 100% trails, some single track, and some fire road. The approximate elevation gain/loss is 650 feet / per loop. The terrain will have undulating hills with some nice ascents and descents to keep trail runners on their game and keep them honest. There will be rocks; there will be roots, dirt, and mud if it rains. There will be two aid stations. The primary aid station will be the Start/Finish. It will have a plentiful array of sustenance (food) to cover everyone through out the event. The second aid station will ONLY have H2O. The 12-HR is concluded with the awards ceremony and Post-Race Meal for participants and crews.

Join us for the 10th Annual Young Marines DDR Dash 5K at the National Museum of the Marine Corp!
The purpose of the DDR Dash 5K: To remember Enrique “Kiki” Camarena a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent, who lost his life in the effort to keep harmful drugs off the streets of America. To honor Kiki’s sacrifice and recognize the thousands of agents and officers who work tirelessly to create a safer world, the Young Marines organize the Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) Dash 5K as part of our national Red Ribbon Week efforts.
With August temperatures and humidity soaring, we are offering a great way to get a 5K run in! This indoor 5K takes place entirely inside the mall!
Perfectly timed with both Maryland tax-free week and back-to-school shopping, not only can you hit the halls of Arundel Mills, you can stop in for great specials at all of their retailer before or after your run!
Last race we had great specials from Hey Dude, Under Armour, Nike, Lindt Chocolate, Auntie Anne's, Medieval Times, Nandos, Merritt Athletics, and more! Stay tuned to hear who will be participating this summer.
Choose between completing multiple loops for the full 5K or opting for our family‑friendly fun run or walk, featuring a shorter distance perfect for kids and new runners. This race takes place before the mall opens! It won't be a great course for setting a personal best, but we can promise it will be a fun and unique one!
All finishers will receive a medal.
This race is hard capped. If you can still sign up, there is space! Once we hit our cap, we will have to welcome you next year! Strollers are only allowed during the Fun Run/Walk
Sunday Morning Check-In Time:
Elite Runners: 8:00 AM
5K: 8:40 AM
Fun Run/Walk: 9:45 AM
Post-Race Activities!
After you cross the finish line, stick around for post‑race activities, including fitness demos, recovery stretches, training tips, and workout ideas for all ages.
Packet Pick-Up
Bib, swag, and shirts will be handed out before the race! If you have not received it, please arrive by 7:30 AM for Elite Runners, 8:00 AM for the 5K, and 9:15 for the Fun Run/Walk.
Reminder- this is a cupless race! Waters will not be handed out. We have dozens of water fountains on site and want to ensure the floors stay as dry as possible. Please bring a container with a lid for your water.
Swag and Giveaways
All participants receive both a finisher's medal and a shirt! Check in for the swag bag our retailers and partners provide, including giveaways, raffles, promos, and discounts at Arundel Mills stores! Shirts are not guaranteed for runners who sign up after 8/1.
Hydration Station
In order to keep the floors as dry as possible, there will only be a water station at the start/finish line that racers will pass as they go around the mall. While water/drinks are allowed on the course, there will be no water cups while on the course except for water at the food court. The mall has several restrooms available throughout the course that have water fountains. Running with a cup without a lid is not permitted, but running with water or other fluids is permitted as long as it closes (water bottle, camelbak, sports bottle, etc.)
What to Bring
Your own water, bags, and gear are fine to bring! We will have waves starting/finishing in the food court that will provide plenty of tables and chairs to store your items. We cannot allow pets, selfie sticks, glass, or weapons. Note that neither Arundel Mills nor Peake Events is responsible for lost belongings.
Parking and Entrance Recommendation
The closest parking would be the Maryland Live Casino parking garage (free), and use the Food Court Entrance. Nando Peri Peri is located next to that Food Court entrance for reference.
Distance Disclaimer
Please note: Course distance and start times may adjust slightly based on registration numbers and logistics. Waved starts will help ensure plenty of space for running through the mall corridors. The 5k course will be four laps around the mall and is ~1/10th of a kilometer longer than an exact 5K.
Strollers and Children Note
The 5K race will have runners completing four laps around the mall, making for tight spots, especially in two sections that require a small ramp to go up/down. Runners can also opt to run up and down the three stairs as they see fit. Strollers will only be allowed during the Fun Run/walk and must start at the back. Any child participating in the 5K should be able to maintain a jogging pace and stick to the right-hand side of the course. We love kids, but know they like to take off and run around without always looking around their surroundings. Please ensure your child is both old enough for the 5K and can follow proper race etiquette. We invite everyone to join the Fun Run/Walk!
Sponsorships are available - Please contact [email protected]

The Devil's Den 10 Miler is one of the best 10-mile races in Virginia! The in-person race starts at 7:15am on Sunday, August 16th.
The DD10 is set in beautiful Culpeper, centrally located between Washington, DC, and Charlottesville nestled in the Piedmont River Valley. It is a Coldwell Banker Elite Grand Prix Series race. Starting and finishing in front of the Culpeper Sports Complex, the course is mostly flat with some rolling hills. The USATF certified course is a loop with scenic views of the beautiful Culpeper countryside. There is plenty of close parking, restrooms, and cold watermelon and snacks at the finish.
Why run a 10 miler, you ask? Here are just a few reasons why YOU should run:
According to Runner's World magazine, "It fine tunes your form: Running a 10-miler takes more than an hour to complete, putting you into fatigue when flaws in running form become obvious. You must try to correct those flaws (like slouching) and hold form to the end... a 10-miler makes you a more efficient runner-by getting all your body parts, while fatigued, to agree on the direction you need to go: forward. You smooth away rough edges like a stream smooths out a rough stone caught on its bottom."
It’s not a half marathon or a marathon: Running 10 miles is something you can prepare for in a much shorter time. If you are looking to take up a good challenge within the next few months, it’s something that can be comfortably prepped for in a short amount of time.
It’s the right step up from a 10k distance: If you’re pretty new to running, taking the leap from a 10k to a half marathon is a BIG step. So having the opportunity to race at a distance in between is a great way of building up your race abilities prior to taking on a half marathon.
It will help take your body into a much healthier state: Ten-milers will not only do wonders for your leg muscle strength, but for your heart. Increasing your endurance and challenging yourself to a distance your body isn’t used to will keep your body adapting and make your body stronger and healthier.
It makes you an aerobic tourist: Your 10-miler can take you far, and if you haven’t been to Culpeper before, it has beautiful views of the Shenandoah Mountains. Every runner knows the importance of variety in keeping a training program fresh. Challenging yourself can keep you motivated. Switch up locations and take on new challenges and keep running fun!
Note: Register before July 22nd to be guaranteed a race shirt!
We strongly recommend that individuals under the age of 16 not run the race.
Whether you are competing for the prize money or striving for a new PR or looking for a fun race to run with friends, the Devil’s Den 10 Miler is the race for you!

Lace up your sneakers and join us for our 4th Annual 5K and Fun Walk, supporting this year’s beneficiary, Neighborhood Emergency Aid Response (NEAR).
NEAR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2022 to provide rapid emergency assistance within the Amblebrook community. When a medical emergency occurs, every second matters. While Amblebrook is served by the regional 911 system—including Adams Regional Emergency Medical Services (AREMS), the Gettysburg Fire Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police—the large coverage areas for these services can sometimes lead to longer response times. NEAR was created to help bridge that gap.
When you dial 911, NEAR is dispatched at the same time as the ambulance. As a Pennsylvania EMS-certified Quick Response Service (QRS), NEAR volunteers are often able to arrive quickly to provide critical care until professional emergency responders arrive.
NEAR works closely with AREMS and is certified through the Emergency Health Services Federation of Pennsylvania. Each response team includes highly trained volunteers skilled in basic life support, CPR/AED, and first aid, with at least one team member certified as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), EMT, or Paramedic. These teams provide immediate, potentially life-saving interventions while awaiting ambulance crews.
In addition to emergency response, NEAR strengthens the community by offering CPR, AED, and first-aid training for Amblebrook residents.
Proceeds and donations from this year’s race support NEAR’s mission and contribute to a designated endowment that helps sustain the organization for years to come, ensuring that rapid emergency care is available when our community needs it most.
Come enjoy this lovely park in the heart of downtown Culpeper!
Operation First Response is a dedicated organization committed to providing emergency financial assistance to those who serve and protect our nation and communities. We offer vital support to Active-Duty Military Personnel, Disabled Veterans, Gold Star families, and First Responders including Police Officers, Firefighters, EMS professionals, Paramedics, and 911 Dispatchers. It is our hope to ease financial burdens during times of crisis, ensuring that these brave individuals and their families receive the assistance they need with dignity and respect. By addressing immediate financial needs, we honor their sacrifices and commitment to safeguarding others.
Course
