Whether you’re in it for some friendly competition or would rather stick with a group, this event’s emphasis is on camaraderie, bringing together all paces and styles.

The 5k or 1 mile routes start and end at the Albin O. Kuhn Library. The 1 mile route will be leisurely and casually paced (pet and family friendly). Check-in time begins at 7:30 a.m. and the race/walk is at 8:30 a.m.

Entry Fees:

$20 for faculty, staff, alumni, and friends aged 17+ (anyone under 17 must be accompanied and registered by an adult)

$5 for current UMBC students

$50 for a family pack option (includes up to two adults 18 and over and any number of children)

$25 race day fee for non-students, $10 for students, and $60 for a family pack (pending space)

Event is limited to 250 participants

    Join us on this journey by regstering and participating in the inaugural "Races for the Oasis 5K & Fun Run", in our backyard, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore - located in the heart of Druid Hill Park, Baltimore, MD.

    Pricing

    General adult tickets (14 and over) - $40 through Feb 28 $50 March 1 - 31 $60 April 1 - race day

    Kids- $10/$15/$20 (6-13) - $10 through Feb 28 $15 March 1 - 31 $20 April 1 - race day

    Team Members (4 or more per team) - $35 through Feb 28 $45 March 1 - 31 $55 April 1 - race day $35/$45/$55

    Children 5 & Under are free - please register your children so we know how many to plan for

    TEAMS

    Teams of 4 or more will receive a $5.00 discount on their (adult registration only). Teams do not haven to register all at once, the discount will apply once the 4th person signs up and the frst 3 will have the discount refunded.

    TIMING

    The 5K race will be professionally timed with RFID chip timing services, running two laps through the zoo exhibits. 1M participants will complete a single lap, without chip timing. Timing services performed by Blue Cheetah Sports Timing, LLC.

    T-SHIRTS

    5K & 1M participants 14 and over will receive a race t-shirt with their registration. Children 6-13 will pay a reduced registration fee, and t-shirts are available for purchase during registration. Children 5 and under are free of charge, and may purchase a t-shirt during the registration. Please register your children even if their registration is free, so we know how many to prepare for.

    *ZOO ADMISSION

    The first 250 participants may take advantage of a complimentary "Day at the Zoo" with a zoo entrance bracelet, available once the race has completed. This admission is valid on race day only. During registration, you will reserve your ticket. After the 250 tickets are reserved, additional discounted tickets will be available for purchase.

    PARKING

    Complimentary parking is available at the Zoo entrance. Please follow the direction of the Zoo attendants

    PACKET PICKUP

    Race Day Packet Pickup will begin at 6:30 am at the Schafer Pavilion near the Zoo entrance.
