Every year, Labor Day Weekend, endurance MTB riders drop in on some of the best singletrack Park City, Utah has to offer. There are over 400 miles of trail here; it’s ripping fast and incredibly diverse. Whether you’re someone who rides the trails regularly, or you’re an out-of-towner, the Park City Point 2 Point is guaranteed to please.
The course is an actual point to point ride, and thanks to the plethora of trails in the area, you will never be on the same trail twice. 90% of the course is on singletrack with a total distance of 75 miles and over 10,000′ of climbing, and all while traveling through two world-class mountain resorts. It will challenge your mental prowess, yet it will have you grinning from ear to ear.
Point 2 Point is an adventure too, just like the old days of mountain bike racing. It’s not a closed course (the general public will riding the trails with you), and we will not be holding your hand along the way, showing you the route. You will want to prepare, study the course map (pre-ride if you can), or bringing a GPS unit with the course pre-loaded. If you don’t prepare, there’s a chance you are going to get lost, maybe not even finish – but isn’t this the real allure of racing?
We always ask…Can You Do it? There is only one way to find out.

7:00 a.m. Sprint & 5K race start
8:00 a.m. 5K walk/run only start
The ONLY open-water sprint triathlon in Utah County is HERE! New in 2026, the Art City Tri will blow your socks off! We start off with a chilly swim of about 450 yards around three buoys in Wayne Bartholomew Family Park Reservoir, where our transition area is. Next, is a six-mile challenging climb up the left fork of Hobble Creek Canyon, but don't forget the six-mile descent too! You'll be flying past the beautiful canyon views! Stash your bike and dash in the river bottoms on a relatively flat 5k run to finish off the trifecta. You'll love our beautiful course, awesome finisher medal, super-soft t-shirt, accurate chip timing, free photos, and not to mention the absolute charm of Art City--Springville!

DISTANCE
5K WALK/RUN ONLY: 5K
REGULAR SPRINT TRI: ~450 yard swim (wetsuits encouraged, lifejackets permitted), 20k bike (12.4 miles), 5k run (3.1 miles)
TEAM SPRINT TRIATHLON: A team of 2-3 people where each person does one (or two) of the above leg(s). (Please first register one person, then go back and register the others in order to get the group pricing discount.)
THE RACE!:
SWIM
Starting on the beach by stepping over the timing mat, you will swim about 450 yards counter-clockwise around three buoys in a triangular pattern. Because the usual temperature in late summer of Bartholomew pond is around 60 degrees, wetsuits are encouraged, but not required. Lifeguards on kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes will help keep our swimmers safe. Lifejackets are allowed as well.
T1
Swimmers will exit the water where they started and enter the transition area to dry off, grab their bike, helmet (REQUIRED), and shoes and head off up the canyon!
BIKE
The bike exits the park to the east and turns north (left) up the hill. Springville Police will help cyclists turn east (right) up Canyon Rd where cyclists will do a simple out-and-back course up the LEFT fork of Hobble Creek Canyon. No aid stations will be on the bike course, but water for your water bottles will be available in transition. Cyclists will travel slowly up the 6.2 mile course, and then fly down the canyon on the way back! But slow down as you come out of the canyon and police will help you turn left toward Bartholomew Park to finish and rack your bike in T2.
T2
Rack your bike, strap on your running shoes and head south out of the park.
RUN
You'll make one big rectangle, running in the river bottoms with aid stations at every mile. After running through beautiful Mapleton and Springville neighborhoods, you'll head toward Bartholomew park, run around the pond on the dirt road to the finish line! You'll have done it! We'll drape a finisher's medal around your neck and you can celebrate your success with family, friends, and lots of good post-race snacks! If you're ONLY doing the 5K walk/run, we'll start you at 8:00 a.m., and you'll get everything that the triathletes do!
TIMING CHIP SYSTEM AWESOMENESS
RunnerCard will be providing our chip timing, and they do a phenomenal job. Timing chips are placed on your ankle for the duration of the triathlon. When you finish we'll grab your chip off your ankle--make sure we do so you don't get fined for losing it! Shortly after you finish, you can pick up a print out of your time and ranking. You'll also receive a text with your time right after you cross the finish line! Talk about efficient!
