The Bike Hub is proud to announce our Sunday Epic ride series! These are all-day rides featuring some of the best mixed-terrain riding the tri-state area has to offer. Forgotten woods roads, fast gravel, rugged singletrack, and even a bit of hike-a-bike. These rides will be long, difficult, and absolutely beautiful. While there is no perfect bike for a Sunday Epic, anything with around a 2 inch tire will work. More details on terrain will be included in each event post. Sunday Epic's will be held the third Sunday of every month from April-September. Start location may vary, but will usually end will some sort of food and drink situation. Wheels down at 8am always.
This round we are headed down under to Adams Massachusetts. Meet at the Ashuwilltacook Rail Trail parking on Hoosac street. The route will take us deep into Savory, where all of the “problem bears” from around the state are released. Tons of forgotten woods roads, super scenic. We'll drop into Hawley, Brier, Windsor, and tons of other cool little towns. Forgotten graveyards, vast swamps etc. I've only ridden some of this before so there might be some surprise re-routes or hike-a-bike - all part of the fun! Gravel bike with 2 inch tires or wider is recommended. Hardtail mtb is fine too.
A few notes on the nitty-gritty of these rides.
Sunday Epic's are fully self supported. Bring everything you need to successfully finish the route. We expect you to carry basics like spare tube, pump, multi-tool, patch kit, food and water, etc. Although we occasionally stop at a convenience store, there are many times where the ride is too remote for that to be an option.
We generally try to ride together, but you are welcome to do your own thing as long as you have the route. Group pace usually hovers somewhere around the 10mph average mark, but may be slower depending on terrain/climbing.
Expect this to take a good chunk of the day. Occasional stops for snacks etc. We move pretty continuously, but also aren't in a rush.
Join us for post-ride food and drink after, location tbd.
RideWithGPS link here.
Note that we don't charge anything for these rides, but we do welcome donations! We are a community-based 501c3 nonprofit focused on removing barriers to cycling for all within the tri-state area. We provide education, free access to bikes and cycling accessories, and provide a place for people of all ages and abilities to connect through cycling. For more info on our shop and programs, click here. Thanks!

About the Grand Fundo
In the cycling world, a gran fondo is a massive group ride/race, that can attract riders numbering in the thousands, encompassing all ages and ability levels. The Grand Fundo removes all the racing aspects from the ride but keeps all the all the fun. The route will take about four hours for most riders. The route is mostly dirt roads. We will have fully stocked rest stops where you can refuel and hydrate. There will be support riders and follow cars but they cannot access the trails and so please bring proper tools to fix a flat. Immediately after the ride, we hope you’ll stay and hang out with us for music and a delicious post-ride cookout, our prize drawing and more!
About the Mini Fundo
The Mini Fundo features the same challenging beginnings of the Grand Fundo but will get you back home more quickly. If you are looking for 2.5 to 3.5 hours of riding but aren’t sure you can survive the full Fundo, then the 29-mile Mini Fundo is for you. Once you return, snacks will be available until our barbecue. The Mini Fundo is by no means a walk in the park. Over the course of 29 miles, the Mini Fundo will climb over 2400 feet and ride through technical sectors of double track.
About the Adventure Route
This route is 75-80 miles, which means about five or six hours and includes more remote technical roads. 40+c tires are a must, and a 1:1 gear ratio will make the climbs much more enjoyable. This is a challenging route, but is well worth the effort.
About the youth ride
10 miles out and back, leaving at 9 as well. We provide two ride chaperones.
About the JAM Fund
JAM is a registered 501c-3 organization founded by Jeremy Powers, Alec Donahue and Mukunda Feldman, good friends brought together through their passion for cycling. JAM's mission is to help motivated young cyclists reach their potential both on and off the bike, while not being limited by finances. This is reached through close mentoring and involvement in the cycling community. The JAM Fund is proud to award grants to young cyclists in and around Massachusetts who show enthusiasm, determination and desire to be their best. It's also our goal to showcase some of the amazing cycling that the Pioneer Valley offers! Every dollar raised through the Fundo goes directly to the JAM fund. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

JACK'S STORY
The Smile Like Jack Memorial Fund was established in memory of Jack William O’Brien, a loving son and brother, caring friend, and hard working young man that touched the lives of many with his contagious smile. Jack tragically passed away in a snowmobile accident on March 3rd, 2022. In his 20 short years, he had accomplished many things and leaves behind a legacy that is in a caliber of its own. Jack lived life to the fullest. He was always working exceptionally hard to accomplish his set of goals while also living the outdoorsman lifestyle: fishing, hunting, and riding. Our goal is that the Smile Like Jack Memorial Fund will bring other individuals (with similar passions) the opportunity to live their legacy just as Jack would - working immensely hard in the trades and living life to the fullest in the great outdoors.
