About SCTR is excited to announce the second running of the Hill to Hollow 100km, co-directed with Pete Dady of the Hash House Harriers who traversed the loop back in the COVID days. Crossing four counties, the course will begin and end in Morgan Hill State Forest (camping available), following the nearly-all-single-track Onondaga Trail alongside misty ponds, up to incredible vistas, and crossing above waterfalls; past the highest point in Onondaga County on single track mountain bike trails within Morgan Hill State Forest. The course then follows the Onondaga Trail/North Country Trail east to Highland Forest County Park and past DeRuyter Reservoir, turning south on the enigmatic Link Trail through Muller Hill State Forest before joining the main Finger Lakes Trail in Mariposa State Forest, heading west past Chippewa Falls, and rejoining the Onondaga Trail to reenter Morgan Hill State Forest. This is a challenging 100km, so self-sufficiency and strong navigation skills (without 5G/LTE
network coverage) are musts. Hill to Hollow 100km take place concurrently with the Morgan Hill Trail Races Half Marathon & Marathon, is Trail Sisters approved, and is a UTMB Index race.It takes a tremendous amount of work by a great many people and organizations to provide public access to and maintain the beautiful land and trails upon which these races depend. SCTR is immensely grateful to NYS DEC, Finger Lakes Trail Conference, North Country National Scenic Trail Association CNY Chapter, Highland County Park, the ADK-Onondaga Chapter, and the many private landowners, trail stewards, and volunteers without whom this would not be possible. Please consider making a donation to the FLTC during registration; SCTR will match donations up to $250. Or better yet, become a member at https://fingerlakestrail.org. Race Details All runners will receive a pair of highly coveted SCTR socks. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers for each distance in each gender division and the fastest relay
team.Aid station offerings will include ice (if temperatures merit), water, Skratch, orange slices, bananas, pickles, PB&Js, potato chips, pretzels, oreos, and candy. About Well done, you've discovered the registration page for the most scenic and challenging trail races that Central New York has to offer. Starting and finishing within Morgan Hill State Forest (camping available), the Morgan Hill Half Marathon and Morgan Hill "Meat Grinder" Marathon courses follow the nearly-all-single-track Onondaga Trail alongside misty ponds, up to incredible vistas, and crossing above waterfalls; past the highest point in Onondaga County on single track mountain bike trails; then back onto the Onondaga Trail to the finish line after running over (or around) the gravestone of one very unlucky guy from the 1700s.The marathon course adds the cruel but beautiful Fellows Hill loop and an out-and-back on the Onondaga Trail to Route 13. With the cooler temperatures and fall colors of late September, this is East Coast trail running at its absolute finest with all the rocks and roots that come with it. The memories will remain with you long after the blisters have healed and
the muscle soreness and fatigue have faded.Morgan Hill Trail Races takes place concurrently with the Hill to Hollow 100km and 100km relay, are Trail Sisters approved, and are UTMB Index races. It takes a tremendous amount of work by a great many people and organizations to provide public access to and maintain the beautiful land and trails upon which these races depend. Something new and exciting is coming to Rochester NY on Sunday, September 20, 2026 as we will offer the inaugural Countdown to ONE! challenge. This unique challenge is for those dedicated runners that like to push themselves a bit more than others. As a Countdown to ONE participant you will run as many single miles as you can based on the time requirements for each. The course is a 1 mile loop. The start/finish for each mile is the same. All participants receive a finisher medal.
Here's how it works...
Each mile must be completed in less than the required time to advance to the next mile. If you fail to complete any of the miles in the allotted time you're out of the competition.
The first mile must be completed in 15 minutes or under, the second mile must be completed in 13 minutes or less, 3rd mile in 11 minutes or less, 4th mile in 10 minutes or less. These 4 miles make up the Bronze category. You must complete all 4 miles under the time cut offs to earn a bronze pin that can be attached to your medal.
The next wave would be the Silver category, 9 1/2, 9, 8 1/2 and 8 minute miles. You must complete all 8 miles under the time cut offs to earn the Silver pin to attach to your medal.
If you're still standing, it's onto the Gold category, 7 1/2, 7, 6 1/2 and 6 minute miles. You must complete all 12 miles under the time cut offs to earn the gold pin to attach to your medal.
If we have to go beyond this to get to our last person standing we will continue to drop each mile time requirement by 30 seconds.
If you finish any of the miles in under the required time to finish you are welcome to stretch, refuel and rest. There will be a one minute separation between each leg of this ultimate challenge.
As much as this is a competition to get to the last male and female standing, it's also a personal challenge for those not in the running to win it all. Set your goal, up your training and achieve your personal best!
All participants will receive a super cool and quite large finisher medal. Depending on the category you completed your last single mile successfully you will receive a pin to add to your finisher medal (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Top Male and top Female finishers will receive a cash prize of $125 (each)

ABOUT 2026 brings back the OG 8-hour solo option, and from 2025 the 8-hour relay of 2-6 people and popular optional mini parallel of latitudes in the park during the last hour for even more mileage! This low-key, flat race is perfect for any type of athlete–those who want to go fast, those who want to go long, and anywhere in between. With no mileage or time cutoffs, all paces are welcome and walkers are encouraged. How many parallels of latitude can YOU complete in 8 hours? The Parallel of Latitude is an 8 hour fixed time race featuring a 3.45-mile out-and-back on a flat, scenic rail trail next to beautiful Dryden Lake. From the time the clock starts at 8:00 AM, to the time it stops at 4:00 PM, how many miles you complete is up to you. With one large aid station available at the start of every loop, you’re never too far from all the pickles, soda, and potato chips your heart desires. Need a break between loops to rest your feet? Erect your own pop-up tent or set up inside one of the two
pavilions with the essentials: a cooler, someone to fan you with a palm frond, and a record player to spin Billy Joel’s greatest hits. Just beware the chair, for she is a cunning temptress, and if you spend too long relaxing the race director just might chase you back out onto the trail. What’s up with the name of your event? How does it even apply to what we’re doing here? A parallel of latitude is an imaginary line that circles the Earth, parallel to the Equator. These lines are used in geographic coordinate systems to define locations north or south of the Equator. The race course is aligned very closely to the 42nd parallel north, the line of latitude that passes through the Finger Lakes region of New York, including Dryden, where the race takes place.Elevation Gain: Little to none.Online pre-registration is required and is open through 12:00 PM (noon) Friday, September 25, 2026. There is no in-person, same-day registration at the race, so plan ahead. WHERE & WHEN Race day is Saturday
September 26, 2026. The race clock starts at 8:00 AM, and stops at 4:00 PM. There are no custom start times. You can be out on the course for as much or as little as you like during that time.On race day runners should head to Dryden Lake Park, 5 minutes from Dryden, NY and 25 minutes from Ithaca, NY. Race HQ and start/finish will be located at the big pavilion in the park–look for the FLRC feather flags. Parking is available in designated spots in the park, or by the dam less than a quarter of a mile away. AWARDS & LIFETIME MILEAGE Solo Division: All participants will receive a custom concrete finisher stone which will have their mileage added when they finish, regardless of their distance. The person in each gender category who completes the most miles will receive a larger concrete stone and other goodies.Relay Division: Each member of the relay team will receive a matching custom finisher stone which will have the team’s total mileage added when the team finishes for the day, regardless
of their distance. You will receive a special award when you reach designated intervals. These awards are separate from the race day award, which you will still receive in addition to the lifetime mileage award. RELAY RACE Relay teams may consist of 2-6 members and can run the entire 8 hours. See our website for full details. MINI PARALLEL OF LATITUDES During the last hour of the race, mini parallel of latitudes may be completed in the park. These are optional and will count toward the mileage total.
