    Welcome to the Newbsanity Last Man Standing OCR Ultra! Athletes will complete an obstacle loop every hour on the hour until only one athlete remains. This event is meant to be an obstacle course

    version of a "backyard ultra"...it will be a grueling physical and mental test for all who decide to take on the challenge! Athletes will begin their first loop at 8AM.

    Course

    -The loop will be approximately 3 miles

    Starting Corral

    -Participants must be in the starting corral at the bell (start of the lap)

    Starts

    -Each loop starts precisely 1 hour after the last

    -Warning will be given 3,2,1 minutes prior to start

    -All competitors must start at the bell. No late starts

    Loops

    -Except for restrooms, competitors may not leave the course until each loop is completed.

    -Eliminated runners may start additional laps during the official lap starts but may not provide physical assistance to those still in the competition.

    -No personal aid during the loop. There will be a common aid station at roughly the halfway mark.

    -Each lap must be completed in the hour to be counted…Including the final lap.

    -Slower runners must allow passes

    Timing

    -Laps will not be officially timed. Position is simply based on the number of laps completed before elimination

    -Eliminated runners can still accumulate mileage towards the Ultra series rankings by completing additional laps starting and finishing within the hour.

    Winner/Results

    -The winner is the last person to complete a loop

    -All others are technically DNF

    -Results of each runner is terms of loops/distance will be given.

    -If no runner can complete one or more loop than anyone else, there is no winner.

    Cap

    -Race is open ended.

    Relay

    Teams of 3-6 people. Teams will not compete against each other but to complete 12 or 24 hours as a team. Relay teams will have an athlete start a new lap every hour.

    Pre-registry: Register by mail prior to June 14th at a fee of $25; After June 14th a fee of $30 is charged. Registrations and race packets can be picked up at the high school.

    Race Day Entries: Register up to 30 minutes prior to the start at a fee of $30. Registration will be held on the village green in front of the school until 8:30 AM.

    Shirts: A True Classic Performance Multi-Colored Shirt is guaranteed to all pre-registered athletes. First come first serve for race day entries.

    Awards: First Place Overall Male and Female, First Place Masters Male and Female, and Top 3 Finishers in each age group will receive a Race Bag Award. No Duplications of Awards.

    Age Groups: Age Groups for Male and Female Runners will be 14 and under then starting at age 15, with ten year increments up to 65 and older.

    If the race attracts more than 150 pre-race entries by June 1st we will increase the total number of age groups by using five year increments for the age groups.

    Post Race Celebration: An awards ceremony and post race foods will be available after the race

    Facilities: Restroom facilities are available in the High School.

    Parking: Available at the high school and Lovell’s Field. Please respect all NO Parking signs.

    Directions: From the North (Exit 38) and South (Exit 39), Marathon is located off Interstate 81. From the East and West the Village of Marathon is located on Route 221.

    Run for wine at the beautiful Sheldrake Point Winery, overlooking Cayuga Lake!

    The Run:

    • Chip Timed with live-streamed results. Race starts at 9:00 AM.

    • A scenic 5K course which includes

    breathtaking views of Cayuga Lake

    • Awards for the Top 3 Overall and Age Group Winners (Male/Female) Ages under 14, 15-19, 20-29, and every 10 yrs.

    • Well Marked cross country style course through the 200 acre vineyard property. Nice wide trails with a combination of short cut grass and packed dirt.

    • Water station on course. Water and bananas at finish.

    • Walkers and children welcome to participate. Registration required to be on course for safety of all participants. 1 Hour Time Limit.

    Packet Pick-Up on Race day: 7:30 - 8:30 AM at "Good Day for a Run" tent. Arrive before 8:30 AM to pick up race bib and shirt, listen to race announcements. Race Starts at 9:00 AM. Late starts not allowed due to the design of course.
