About Trail Fest:
FEAR Trail Fest is a 5 mile lollipop loop trail race in Lewis Morris Park in Morristown, NJ. The course is run mostly on the Yellow Trail in Lewis Morris Park. It’s a runnable course with a mix of rocks, roots, and some good climbs totaling around 600 feet of elevation gain. The course starts with a wide section on the Patriots Path before moving to single track for the full Yellow Trail loop before traversing the short section of the Patriots Path again back to the finish. The course is meant to attract runners looking to tackle their first trail race, or an experienced veteran on the trails looking to have a fun and fast race! Hikers are welcome too, with a generous 2:30 hour time limit.
Additionally, we will host course previews (see dates below) on the actual course so no one needs to go into the race blindly. These course previews are free and will be educational and informative if you’ve never run trails before or have never been to Lewis Morris Park.
Sustainability:
Trail Fest is going cupless! Hydrapak will be providing reusable cups for runners to be used before, during, and after the race for all their electrolyte needs.
Additionally, we are ditching traditional PVC-made race bibs and going with hemp bibs. These are much more environmentally friendly versus old traditional bibs.
Logistics:
Who: Everyone’s invited (but limited to 120 runners)! New trail runners, experienced trail runners and hikers. We’ll even adopt road runners for the day!
What: A 5 mile trail race (route below)!
Where: Lewis Morris Park Sunrise Lake Dr., Morristown, NJ 07690. Once you get to this road, keep driving until you see the lot.
When: Sunday, November 23, 2025 starting at 9AM
Why: Why not! What else could you possibly be doing on a Sunday morning?
Giveaways:
– Root Runners will be providing prize packages to the 1st and 2nd place male and female finishers.
– Brooks Running will be raffling off 3 pairs of shoes.
– Feetures has donated 6 pairs of socks to be raffled off to our runners.
– SPIbelt provided us with 3 race belts to be raffled off, too.
Course Previews:
We will be hosting three course previews on the following dates. Please meet at the picnic shelter on the map below at 8:50AM so we can start running at 9AM:
Sunday, October 12th – 9AM
Sunday, October 26th – 9AM
Sunday, November 16th – 9AM

Each year, The Chatham Turkey Trot attracts more than 1,300 runners who help raise funds for our first responders and diabetes research and education. Over the years, the Chatham Turkey Trot has become a family holiday tradition that offers expert and novice runners alike the opportunity to spend time with family, friends, and neighbors, to raise funds for our first responders and diabetes research and education, and to break a sweat before the big meal.
I encourage you navigate through our website to learn more about our beneficiaries, to view photos and videos of past Trots, and to read about the local businesses who have supported our efforts over the years. ABOUT US:
From race directors to course monitors, all Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team races are staffed by its own volunteers since the Team’s inauguration in 1977 by its founder and fitness advocate, Sri Chinmoy.
Today, the SCMT organizes over 1,700 races a year in 27 countries across 4 continents, ranging from short kids fun-runs, to marathons to the world’s longest certified road race – the annual Self-Transcendence 3100 mile race (yes, 3,100 miles, it’s not a typo). We love running and putting on races – we hope you enjoy the friendly atmosphere we provide, free of commercial sponsors. Read more >>
