WAY OVER YONDER SERIES CONTINUES At Jungle Habitat we've created a special running loop that includes plenty of single track trails, some fire road and paved sections. There are some amazing descents (and of course some good climbs) in this USATF sanctioned course that we're sure will excite and delight our Trail Run Adventurers. The 10K loop is actually 6.6 miles with 600+ feet elevation gain (see map at bottom of notes). We're calling it a 10K+ and Half Marathon+ (13.2 miles). The 10K+ will run one loop and the Half will do two loops. Half Marathon runners must finish first lap in under 1 hour 45 minutes to start 2nd lap (which unless you crawl through the trail system is very generous and significantly slower pace than last year's last place finisher). We're also going with a 5K+ loop (also below) that is 3.4 miles with 300 feet elevation gain. Unlike road running, trails have their own characteristics and to keep a good flow we kept coming up with a loop that was either going to be too
short or too long, so we chose to maximize your run experience. JUNGLE HABITAT HISTORY Jungle Habitat is one of the most unique parks in New Jersey with a very cool history. It was a Warner Brothers Safari Park in the 1970's, but closed down in 1976.The land was left untouched for three decades until in 2007, New Jersey approved the building of a trail network by volunteers led by JORBA (Jersey Off Road Biking Association). Our Race Director and crew members were some of those volunteers that helped hand build these trails, so we feel like we've come full circle now holding events at this special place. As you run you'll see artifacts from the original park including the Otter Slide and Tiger Pens. FINISHER & WINNER MEDALS All Finishers get Wooden Finisher Plaques.Age Group Medals Top 3 Men & Women:Half Marathon 5 Year Afe Groups: 19 & Under, 20-24, 25-29,30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+ 10K10K 10 Year Age Groups: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+5k
Top 3 Men & Women Overall MedalsPost Race Party for All Participants HYDRATION & NUTRITION While there will be an Aid Station, we strongly recommend that you bring a hydration pack or bottle as well as nutrition items to run with while on course. Aid Stations are cupless in keeping with our mission to eliminate waste. The Half Marathon will loop through the Start/Finish area and runners can stage additional hydration and nutrition there. We will be providing GU Gels or Chews, Water and either GU or Skratch Hydration Drink. ON COURSE GPS We've invested in technology that notifies runners of turns and helps you find your way if you someohow go off course. All registered runners will receive full access to RideWithGPS during the event. Make sure to click the link in your confirmation email to access all the course maps. All you need to do is download the free APP to use it during the race. While we painstakingly mark the course with arrows and course tape, it is possible for something to be
blown down or missed as your running full out. Use the App on your phone to check where you are on the course so you can easily make your way back on course in case you've missed a turn. REQUIRED GEAR Charged Cell Phone- RideWIthGPS App pre-loaded (or your choice of App using GPX file)- Hydration Pack or Water Bottle- Minimum 200 calories (gels, chews, energy bar, etc)- Whistle (Most packs include these) WEATHER & WHAT TO WEAR Weather in the Fall at Jungle Habitat can vary greatly. So, the key is wearing layers so you're prepared for any condition. We will have short sleeve and long sleeve technical T shirts for sale at the event which works as a great base layer. (Pre-Order to ensure we have your size). Good idea to have running tights. Trail Running Shoes recommended. Make sure to pack a dry change of clothing and footwear so you'll be comfortable at the post race party. PARKING New Jersey State Parks has issued a $5 fee for every car. We encourage car pooling to the event and appreciate
it if you have exact change to pay on arrival. Event parking will be through the main gate and all the way up the hill, which is also where packet pickup, pre-ordered merchandise pick up and start/finish. You can pre-pay during registration too. VOLUNTEERS It's no secret that community events like Jungle Escape Trail Run simply don't happen without the help of volunteers. All volunteers will get race swag & join us for the post race celebration. We could use some help with packet pickup, sweeping the course and breaking down all the race gear. Sign up by clicking the volunteer button or email us at [email protected]. JUNGLE ESCAPE RACE MAPS & ELEVATION Half Marathon - Two Loops & 10K + One Loop Event's current local time: 4:27 AM ET

NEW TEMP. LOCATION FOR '26 Wawayanda State Park is unable to host us this year due to staffing. We are incredibly grateful to the NJ State Park Admin Staff and the park staff at both Wawayanda and Ringwood, who have gone completely above and beyond to help us keep Wild Goose on the 2026 calendar! To ensure the festival can move forward without a hitch, we are officially relocating the 2026 Wild Goose Trail Festival to Ringwood State Park! Ringwood is only 30 minutes from Wawayanda and it’s actually closer to Newark airport for folks who are flying in for the festival. We were able to keep the course layout very close to the original and we know you’re going to love it! WILD GOOSE Generous cut-offs, unending trail beauty, rockin' aid station and sweet swag....Join us at Ringwood State Park in Ringwood, NJ on Friday September 18, Saturday September 19 and Sunday September 20, 2026 for the Wild Goose! The 36 hour cutoff for our 100 miler make this a squatchtastic event for those chasing after
their first buckle. We have panels and a film screening on Friday followed by events on Saturday and Sunday that range from 1 mile all the way up to 100+ to make this a true Trail Festival! Free camping is available to all participants, pacers and crew on Friday and Saturday evening. We are supporting our non-profit partner, Bigger Than The Trail with this Trail Party! BIGGER THAN THE TRAIL We are proud to partner with Bigger Than the Trail . BTTT is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that is using trail running as a platform to advocate for mental health. Please consider making a donation to BTTT: Bigger Than the Trail to provide cost-free therapy for folks in need. fill the 100M / 36H / 100K start line with women, transgender women, and non-binary folks who identify with womanhood! In 2025 we had 38% identify as women and NB for those ultra distances. As of July 19, 2026, we are currently sitting at 51%! Even though we are currently above a 50/50 ratio, our historical data shows us that over 72% of the remaining registrations leading up to race day from this point will be folks who identify as male. Sooooooo: if you’re signing up for one of these distances and want to bring your gal-pal-trail-BFF, select the free “HONK YEAH” entry add-on during registration. We’ll send you a code so they can join you at no cost. Already signed up? You can still help! Just click the STORE link at the top of the UltraSignup registration page to grab a 50% off entry for your friend who identifies as woman, trans, or nonbinary! HARDSHIP ENTRIES If you are experiencing a financial hardship and would not be able to participate otherwise, please choose the "Hardship Entry"

If you are a community member who wants to contribute to our Squatch Community Fund, you can make a donation on our website. SQUATCH KIDS CLUB We are excited to offer a one mile kids race! This includes people of color and LGBTQ+, but is not restricted to those communities. Donate Here REFUNDS/DEFERRALS REFUND & DEFERRAL POLICYLike many other race organizations, we do not offer refunds for our events. Please take the time to double-check your calendar before registering for a Trail Party. Please understand that we do not offer refunds under any circumstances. If you notify us via email (not through social media, text, or phone call) more than 21 days from the date of the Trail Party, we will extend a deferral to any of our events that fall within one calendar year of the Trail Party that you were registered for, minus 15% of the registration fee that you originally paid. If
you sustain an injury less than 21 days from the race date, we will extend a 100% deferral if you come to that race to volunteer. For distances less than 50K, you'll need to volunteer for at least 4 hours and for 50M+ distances, you'll need to volunteer for at least 8 hours to get a 100% deferral. If the race that you want to drop from is sold-out with an active wait-list and are able to fill your spot: if you notify us via email (not through social media, text or phone call) at least 3 days before the race, we will extend a deferral to any of our events that fall within one calendar year of the Trail Party that you were registered for, minus 15% of the registration fee that you originally paid. The race credit is the amount that you paid for the race, minus 15% (total credit does not including UltraSignUp fees) so you will need to cover any difference in fees; refunds will not be issued if the deferred event costs less than your race credit. You can only defer one time so please
double-check that you can make the race you're deferring to. PREGNANCY, ADOPTION, & POSTPARTUM POLICYWhether planned or unplanned, the beginning or end of a pregnancy requires healing and recovery time. We are committed to supporting you in this regard. If you are experiencing a pregnancy or postpartum healing and recovery, or have adopted a child, we are pleased to offer a deferral of up to three years from the current event. Simply send us an email and we will arrange the deferral for you. This deferral policy includes partners and spouses and is also extended to folks who are going through the IVF process. COMMUNITY CARE DEFERRAL POLICYWe recognize that the current climate around immigration enforcement, including ICE activity, is creating real fear and barriers to training, travel, and participation. Any registered participant who feels unsafe may request a deferral of their race entry for up to three years from the original race date, no questions asked. For anyone who still wants to
participate but is feeling hesitant, our Squatch Together Program offers the option to be paired with another runner or hiker for support before, during, and after race day. Your safety, dignity, and sense of belonging come first. SASSQUAD TRAIL RUNNERS We are a community of SASQUATCH-lovin' trail runners and hikers. Our goal is to provide FUN and challenging events for runners of all ages and paces. We like to think that we have a good sense of humor, a full arsenal of sarcastic wit, useless trivia facts and a deep appreciation for cinematic masterpieces (as evidenced multiple times already). Follow us on Instagram , and like us on Facebook to get all of our Squatchy updates. You can also join our Facebook group, "Sassquad Trail Runners" to connect with other runners and hikers!
