10 Miles Fun Run Run Trail Virtual Walk

Race Information

THE 2026 RACE WILL BE ON SUNDAY 13th SEPTEMBER. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN IN MAY

Once again the race will follow the varied and scenic course from Franklin Street Park along the Hudson to Piermont and back.

The race starts at 8:30, and the course will close at 11:00, after which the water stations will be dismantled and there will be no Marshalls or police escort on the course, so this event is not recommended for walkers.

The proceeds from this race benefit local first responders, Nyack-area food programs and the Rockland Road Runners Scholarship Fund.

Rockland Road Runner Club members receive a 15% discount at checkout. All registrants can receive a $20 refund if they refer 5 friends.

Packet Pickup

To avoid the crush on race morning, we encourage you to pick up your race number and shirt on Saturday from 12:00 - 3:00 at Dicks Sporting Goods in the Palisades Mall.

Awards

Awards will be given to the top overall runners (Male, Female and Non-binary), and in 5-year age groups for the remaining runners.

Virtual Run and Kids Fun Run

  • If you are not able to join us for the in-person race, you can sign up for the Virtual event and run 10 miles at a time and route that is convenient for you.

  • Before the race, we will hold a kid's fun run along the Esposito Trail, to end at the race finish line. Distances of 200 and 400 meters will be offered.

After Party and Nyack Street Fair

The Hook is a long-standing community half-marathon known for its challenging hill climb in the last few miles. This year’s Half will again start and finish at the Rockland Lakes North Parking Lot (Field #1) by the Pavilion. This year for the first time in the Hook Half history we will have pacers!

We are also incorporating a 10K race, as there are not many local 10K races. Like the Half, it will start and finish at the North parking lot. Unlike the half, this will be a fairly flat course with two loops around Rockland Lake.

This race benefits Meals on Wheels a local organization that been improving the quality of life for aging Rockland County residents for over four decades. Everyday they provide fresh and nutritious meals to older adults, while the daily visits provide a vital safety check and friendly conversation that reduces loneliness and isolation.

Achilles International is a global organization that endeavors to transform the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection. Their main program focuses on running, where they bring hope, inspiration and the joys of achievement to all. They empower the disability community by breaking down barrier to race start lines, and all the way to crossing the finish line.

This event is about community, compassion, and showing up for ourselves and each other. There are no winners and no losers. Everyone is welcome!!

    🏞️ A Unique & Historic Course

Clausland Mountain is more than a beautiful trail — it’s a historic Cold War site, once home to a Nike missile silo designed to protect New York City.

Today, the same ground that once symbolized fear and defense now represents movement, healing, and peace — a powerful setting for a run rooted in mental health and reflection.

The Piermont Fire 5K - raising money and supporting Volunteer Fire and EMS in Rockland County and the Lower Hudson Valley! Come join us for a beautiful walk run along the Piermont Pier overlooking the Hudson River!

The Piermont Fire 5K is an event to support, help recruit new members, and raise money for our participating Charity Partners. The Empire Hose Company #1 (aka Piermont Fire Department) created the event to kick off its 175th-year anniversary celebration. 2026 will be our 175th year serving our community. Over the years all of our mutual aid partners in the Fire & EMS services have supported our collective safety and with this event, we want to support them.

These volunteer organizations dedicate the majority of their time to responding to calls, training their members, and managing the organizations - keeping our communities safe. Fundraising often takes a back seat to other priorities and recruiting new members continues to be challenging. Membership and volunteerism are the lifeblood of their success.

Join us for a beautiful day overlooking the Hudson River as we support our local Volunteer Fire and EMS organizations. Let's help the organizations that serve our communities.

WEPA is an inspiring and motivating running movement that was founded in New York City in the summer of 2016. Their name is a powerful double entendre: it is an acronym for their core values—Work-Excel-Persevere-Achieve—and "¡Wepa!" is a popular Hispanic cultural exclamation of joy and excitement. The crew was created to inspire those intimidated by running and to help people run their very first mile. They have since cultivated a supportive "family atmosphere" where members hold each other accountable and celebrate every milestone along the way.
