We do this event to raise money that we directly contribute to our local Sock Out Cancer Organization here in Binghamton, New York. The monies we raise than gets granted from Sock Out Cancer to our local Hospital Foundations and The Mercy House to manage and distribute to the local cancer patients in our own Community. Below are the amounts we have been able to contribute each of the five years that we have been doing this wonderful event. We are hoping and looking forward to this year – our 8th Anniversary year to be even bigger and better!!!
We have assisted many of our own patients by submitting the patients bills directly to the
Hospital Foundations for consideration in granting and paying the patient personal
expenses/bills to assist with their financial burden while being treated for cancer. Without this
event and Sock Out Cancer many of our own patients would struggle with financial hardships
during a very traumatic time in their lives. We are glad to be able to do our part to help our
Community and cancer patients!

About Us: Verrazano Team is a NYC based club organizing multisport and cycling events throughout the city. Our goal is to create safe, well organized, and welcoming races that support local athletes, juniors, and newcomers to multisport.
Nothing matches the sheer scale and electric energy of New York City, a sprawling metropolis where the unique character of its five boroughs creates a global stage like no other. From the relentless hustle of Manhattan and the deep-rooted grit of the Bronx to the creative spirit of Brooklyn, the neighborhood pride of Queens, and the resilience of Staten Island, NYC is a city built on the strength and personality of its people. It is a place where community spirit is forged in the streets and legends are made every single day.
The New York DEKA FIT experience promises to be a high-profile takeover of the "City That Never Sleeps." This three-day fitness festival offers something for every type of athlete, featuring high-stakes Elite and Age Group heats alongside the heavy-hitting Ruck waves. You can rally your local crew for the 2-person and 4-person team challenges, or step up to the ultimate endurance test: the DEKA FIT Ultra. Whether you claim one of the five boroughs as home or are seeking out the ultimate race-cation destination, this is your chance to conquer the 10 functional zones and 5km of running under the world’s most iconic skyline.
This is the 31st edition of this ride.
Our club puts this ride on to welcome new riders to experience typical NYCC routes - these are some of our favorites.
And of course, our repeat attendees who know we put on a very well supported ride with a great finish festival are always a welcome sight to see on ride day.
Ready to take on a sports challenge in a stunning natural setting 🌳? The Dutchess County Classic in Wappingers Falls and Poughkeepsie awaits you with courses for all skill levels!

RUN FOR DAD is the American Cancer Society’s premier community event to raise funds and build awareness about prostate cancer. Now in its 22nd year, RUN FOR DAD, is changing it's date! Usually taking place every Father’s Day, we have decided to move to September which is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Join us on September 26, 2026 as this event honors the memory of Frank Simms, event co-founder and all those who lost their battle with prostate cancer.
Over 1,000 people attend this family fun event which consists of a 5K Run and 2-mile walk. Small children are invited to take part in the Kids Run For Dad, a series of small races where they are all winners.
In 2023, approximately 228,800 men in the US were diagnosed with prostate cancer and over 27,500 died from the disease. About one man in seven will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. New Jersey has the third highest incidence per capita of prostate cancer in the US. Even worse, in African American men, the incidence is roughly 60% higher than those of white or Asian men. There is good news however. The 5-year survival rate for men whose prostate cancer is detected early is nearly 100% and 93% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer will live 10 years or more. Education, awareness and personal action are saving lives and finding a cure.
