The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K welcomes runners, ruckers, and walkers of all ages and fitness levels to honor the heroes of 9/11 and those who've served our nations since. We activate & unite communities and empower local veterans, active duty, first responders, and families of the fallen.
TMF is proud to partner with GORUCK again with rucking divisions at every run. Rucking is a sport based on special forces training in which participants walk or run while carrying weighted rucksacks. All participants registered for the GORUCK division will earn this year's exclusive TMF GORUCK patch. Learn more about GORUCK here.
Join us for the Manila Madness 5K Freedom Run/Ruck, an event honoring the legacy of Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone and the sacrifices of our nation's heroes.

Test your endurance on a USATF-certified course, perfect for runners of all levels. Whether you're aiming for a personal best or simply looking to run in honor of a true American hero, this 5K is a meaningful way to challenge yourself while paying tribute to Basilone’s unwavering spirit.
5K RUCK – Ruck in GySgt. Basilone’s Shoes
Experience a challenge inspired by the weight of battle. Gunnery Sergeant John Basilone carried a Browning M1917 .30 caliber heavy machine gun, which alone weighs about 40 pounds when filled with water. If you’re looking for an even greater test of strength and endurance, take on the full combat load—machine gun with water, tripod, and ammunition—totaling approximately 100 pounds.
Whether you’re running, rucking, or supporting from the sidelines, this event is an opportunity to honor a Marine Corps legend and keep his legacy alive. Sign up today and push yourself like a warrior!

IN HONOR OF BOB HENDRICKS
Bob Hendricks was the absolute best husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He was a 2x Ironman, an Ultra marathon runner and triathlete. Bob was as humble and generous as them come and will be immensely missed, always. With absolutely no preexisting health conditions, Bob was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February 2025 and passed away in March 2025, only 4 weeks after diagnosis.
This race is looking to honor Bob's memory by doing what he loved to do most -- running (or walking) and also raising funds to donate to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) to fund research to identify successful treatments for a wider range of people (currently the 5 year survival rate is only 13%) and early/widespread screenings (currently do not exist).
