About the Course: Our 5K route winds through the streets of Northvale on a relatively flat, fast, and runner-friendly road course. Perfect for setting a personal record or simply enjoying a relaxed run with friends and neighbors. USATF Certified course.
Fun for All Ages: In addition to the 5K, all are invited to participate in a 1-Mile Fun Run—a great way to introduce young runners to the joy of racing in a supportive, upbeat environment.
What You Get: All registrants will receive a race bib, and the first 200 participants will get an exclusive event T-shirt, perfect for remembering the day and showing support.
Why Run This Race? By lacing up with us, you’ll be contributing directly to cancer research, helping make a difference in the lives of countless families. This event is not only a tribute to Noel O’Malley’s legacy, but also a celebration of community, resilience, and hope.
Come run, walk, cheer, and make memories—because every step brings us closer to a cure. Let’s make the first annual event one to remember!
The Demarest 5K is a long-standing tradition in the Northern Valley that inspire runners and spectators young and old. At our community event, children run in stride with their families and with seasoned runners from surrounding areas. After the 5K, the annual Fun Run takes place for all to participate in freely!
The Principal's Challange is a gradual training program that is run at each of the Demarest elementary schools leading up to the 5K. Demarest school children (K-8) participate and run weekly with their Principal and coaches to build healthy habits, stamina, and sportsmanship. Lastly, they participate in the 5K event with their community.
