The Hickory Foundation YMCA is excited to announce that we will celebrate the 25th Annual Hickory Turkey Trot 5K, 10K, and Fun Run on Saturday - November 21st, 2026. Proceeds from this race help the Y carry out its Mission to provide programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body to make Hickory a stronger community. Your race entry fee and generous Donations will help to continue this support in our community.

The Drumstick Dash is a 5k run and family walk that happens every Thanksgiving Morning. The DASH benefits the Rescue Mission of Roanoke’s dining services and provides for the meals that the Rescue Mission serves on an annual basis. We typically serve about 200,000+ meals a year to those in need. These meals go to adults and children alike, providing needed nutrition so that each of our guests can focus on the ultimate success, rising out of poverty. We are honored to welcome some of the best runners in the area (and some from beyond) to our race. The DASH is the most popular race in the area and attracts everyone in the family from the athletic types to the ones who just want to have a good time and take a stroll. When you participate in the DASH, you're not just making a statement, you're supporting a movement.

The Blacksburg Turkey Trot presented by Kroger is the perfect mix of fun and fitness on Thanksgiving morning. The 5k course is designed with all skill levels of walkers and runners in mind! It's ideal for first-timers and veteran runners alike. The Turkey Trot is a professionally timed event (you'll receive a race bib and chip timing device at packet pickup), but don't let that deter you from coming dressed in your favorite Thanksgiving-themed running gear!
The Gobble Gobble Kids Dash is a can't-miss tradition for kids on Thanksgiving. They'll be energized by the roar of the crowd and feel the freedom of wind in their face as they run through the streets of Blacksburg. Kids Dash participants will finish prior to the start of the Blacksburg Turkey Trot.
Join us on Thanksgiving Day at 8AM for the 13th annual University City Turkey Trot!! A huge thanks to all the participants who have supported this awesome community race through the years! Join fellow runners, walkers, and our fans on Thanksgiving Day for a 5k walk/run designed for all of University City to enjoy! After the race, cool down and indulge in a post-race mini feast featuring food, drinks, games and music.
The University City Turkey Trot features a 5k run/walk; a fun run for kids of all ages; and a costume contest for all those young at heart. Prizes are awarded for first, second, and third place finishers overall; first and second place male and female in each age category; and three prizes are awarded for the costume contest. In addition to all that fun, participants are encouraged to take part in our annual food drive by bringing non-perishable items to support those who are less fortunate in our community.

Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas (SCPOC) is a non‐profit 501c (3) tax exempt organization that exists to "partner" with anyone working to make a difference in the lives of patients and families affected by Sickle Cell Disease. The University City Turkey Trot benefits patients and families affected by this hereditary illness.
Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas was established in 2009. Our mission is simple: we seek to provide a network of support for patients and families affected by Sickle Cell Anemia; to raise awareness and educate the community; and to advocate for a cure. Locust's Second Annual-Turkey Trot 5-K!
For years, many of us have made memories at the Albemarle Turkey Trot-now it's time start our own tradition right here at home!
Join us for the Gobble Gobble 5K on Thanksgiving morning at 8:00am, starting from the Locust Town Center. This free, family-friendly run/walk follows the same fun route as the Locust Elfie 5K-perfect for runners, walkers and anyone ready to earn that extra slice of pie! In 2025 we had 387 registered participants for the event and donated over $1200 to the SCCM Community Table.
With the Elfie run just a week after, it will be a great practice run for the main event!

Welcome to the 4th Annual Birds of a Feather Trail Trot, a Thanksgiving Day trail run at Briar Chapel in Chapel Hill, NC! Gather your flock and start your holiday on the right foot. Choose from a mellow 2-mile course featuring paved paths, grass, and smooth trails, or take on the more rugged 5K — or the all-new 10K — with plenty of roots, rocks, and rolling hills. The Danville Public Schools Education Foundation, in partnership with the Danville Otterbots and the Danville Running & Fitness Club, is having its fifth Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk and Children's Fun Run on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27th! The event will start and end at American Legion Field, the home of the Danville Otterbots.
All proceeds go toward programs, initiatives, and scholarships for DPS students and teachers.
Times: Children's Fun Run - 8:30am; 5K Run/Walk - 9:00am
Course: The entire race will be along the beautiful Dan River on the Riverwalk Trail.
Entry Fee: Children's Fun Run (12 and under) - $0 (as long as an adult is registered for the 5K Run/Walk).
5K Run/Walk - $35 to pre-register, $40 on race day. All area students 17 and under ($25, $30 on race day)
Packet pick-up: Available on race day beginning at 7:00am
Race Day Registration: Registration will begin at 7:00am on Thursday. Cash and check ONLY for race day registration. Checks should be made payable to Danville Public Schools Education Foundation.
What's included: all race registrants registered by 11/14/25 will receive a long-sleeve performance shirt. If you register after 11/14/2025, shirts will be available upon availability.

T-Shirts: Individuals who want to be guaranteed a t-shirt need to register by November 12th to allow for AOT staff to place the t-shirt order. Individuals who want a t-shirt after that time may pick up one at the race if supplies allow. Additional shirts will be $10.
Course: The course will take you around English Park and then to the back part of the park, all adjacent to the Staunton River. This is a flat + fast 5k. It’s a beautiful way to start your Thanksgiving!
Early Packet Pickup: November 25th and 26th at Altavista YMCA (get directions) --> Note: Timeframes for early packet pickups will be from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on both days.

We are back on the Boone Greenway Trail for the 16th Annual High Country Turkey Trot! Choose from a 5K or 10K timed race or an untimed Fun Run/Walk.
Taking place on Thanksgiving morning, The High Country Turkey Trot is open to competitive runners, casual joggers, walkers, and fun runners. Far from just a race, the event is fun for the entire family and includes a live DJ, photo-staging area, costumes, and a picnic shed full of food and hot drinks.
NEW FOR 2026: We've updated the course route by reducing elevation gain and improving the terrain. That means less hill climbs and more stable footing! The 5K and 10K races will take you on a scenic trip over mixed terrain (gravel, grass, and paved) through the woods via The Greenway and Kennedy Trails. Official course map to revealed soon!
The Fun Run/Walk will utilize all paved trails throughout the park - making it accessible to everyone, including leashed dogs, strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and other mobility aids.
The High Country Turkey Trot offers prizes for top 3 Men's & Women's finishers in the 5k & 10k timed runs, Finisher Medals for all runners in the 5K and 10K timed runs, and custom High Country Turkey Trot T-Shirts for all entrants*.

Join us at Smith Mountain Lake State Park for the region's only Turkey Trot - 1 mile and family friendly 5k on November 26th (Thanksgiving) at 9 am! Hosted by LAT Wellness Studio, this race is located on a scenic, asphalt route and welcomes walkers and runners to participate. A portion of proceeds is donated to the state park.
Register by October 31st to guarantee a shirt. There will be prizes for top qualifiers for runners plus the best dressed turkey family! Awards for runners start at 10:00 am. Kids are encouraged to participate!
