The Valentine Day 5K/14K will start and finish at Angler's Park. The 5K will start where the Justice Run starts. Goes up the Riverwalk and turns right up the new section of trail to Stinson, down Northside back to Angler's finishing on the Rugby Field loop. The 14K will be an out and back following the Riverwalk Trail to near Biscuitville and back. Race starts at 10:00am on Saturday Feb 14th. This is a low key event, but is an accurately measured course and will be timed. Overall awards and some special awards will be given out. There are no entry fees, but this is a fundraiser for the Dan River High School Cross Country Team, so all donations will be appreciated. There will be Race Day Registration.

The Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association, Visit SoSi, The Danville Running and Fitness Club, and Danville Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce the 17th Annual Bridge2Bridge 5K Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run, Kids Fun Run, and a Half Marathon. Virtual options are also available.
Since our inception, Bridge2Bridge Danville has raised over $1,140,000 which benefits cancer patients within Danville and Pittsylvania County. In 2025, over 1000 individuals participated in this event which allowed Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer to help many local cancer patients with medications, wigs, travel expenses and more.
Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer is a local 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides assistance to cancer patients by providing travel reimbursement, prescriptions, nutrition, medical supplies and equipment, prostheses, and wigs, as well as emotional, and educational support.

The Goodyear Education 5K returns for its 19th year — and this time, we’re taking off from an exciting new location: the Danville Regional Airport!
Participants will kick off the race on the terminal ramp alongside the airplane hangars, enjoying a unique runway-side experience with stunning views of the airport and Averett University aircraft on display. From there, runners and walkers will head out to Stinson Drive before circling back to the airport for a high-energy finish right where they started. After crossing the finish line, stick around for awards, photo opportunities with the planes, and post-race refreshments.
Heads Up! Registration will be capped at 150 participants. Register early to make sure you don't lose your spot at this unique event!

The Danville Public Schools Education Foundation, in partnership with the Danville Otterbots and the Danville Running & Fitness Club, is having its fifth Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk and Children's Fun Run on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 27th! The event will start and end at American Legion Field, the home of the Danville Otterbots.

All proceeds go toward programs, initiatives, and scholarships for DPS students and teachers.

Times: Children's Fun Run - 8:30am; 5K Run/Walk - 9:00am

Course: The entire race will be along the beautiful Dan River on the Riverwalk Trail.

Entry Fee: Children's Fun Run (12 and under) - $0 (as long as an adult is registered for the 5K Run/Walk).
5K Run/Walk - $35 to pre-register, $40 on race day. All area students 17 and under ($25, $30 on race day)

Packet pick-up: Available on race day beginning at 7:00am

Race Day Registration: Registration will begin at 7:00am on Thursday. Cash and check ONLY for race day registration. Checks should be made payable to Danville Public Schools Education Foundation.

What's included: all race registrants registered by 11/14/25 will receive a long-sleeve performance shirt. If you register after 11/14/2025, shirts will be available upon availability.
