    History:

Three Creeks Torrent Trail Runs is a race sponsored by Columbia Track Club that takes place at Three Creeks Conservation Area, about ten minutes south of Columbia, Missouri. The area is unique in that the land was originally largely owned and worked in 40 and 80 acre parcels purchased by freed slaves following the Civil War. Some former homesteads are even still visible today.

    Course:

The course is an approximate 10 mile loop. It is about 80% single track trail and 20% jeep/gravel road, with a variety of terrain. There are approximately ten creek crossings per loop, so you will get wet. There is about 950 feet of elevation gain per loop.

    Race Headquarters:

    Start Time:

    Saturday, March 14, 2026 - 7:00 a.m. (50K), 8:00 a.m. (20 miles), and 9:00 a.m. (10 mile & 10 mile ruck).

    Time Limit:

The time limit to complete the course is 8 hours for the 50K, 7 hours for the 20 mile, and 6 hours for the 10 mile and 10 mile ruck. 20 mile runners must start their final loop by 11:30 a.m., and 50K runners must start their final loop by 12:30 p.m. The cutoff at the Tomlin trailhead aid station is 2:00 p.m. All races will end at 3:00 p.m.

    Aid:

2 aid stations (Start/finish at Deer Park Road trailhead and on the course at Tomlin Hill trailhead) stocked with a variety of food, water and drinks. Two port-a-potties will be available at the start/finish area and another at the Tomin Hill aid stations approximately 5.5 miles on the course. 50K and 20 mile racers can leave a drop bag at the start to access before their second and third loops. PLEASE NOTE THIS WILL BE A CUP FREE EVENT. All runners must carry a water bottle or hydration pack.

Entry: (all prices include processing fees)

$70 for 50K, $59 for 20 miles, and $54 for 10 mile run or 10 mile ruck. Please sign up by February 10 to guarantee shirt and finishing special item. Prices will increase on January 5, 2026 by $5 per race. No race day registration or refunds. You may transfer your entry yourself using RunSignUp until one week before the race, as discussed below. The race is limited to 135 competitors for all races combined. Park management reserves the right to cancel the race due to adverse conditions.

    Ruck Qualifications:

Ruck participants will cover the same 10-mile course as the runners, starting at 9:00 AM sharp alongside the 10-mile run. You’ll have six hours to finish, whether you’re hiking, running, or crawling—just make sure you’re moving under your own power the entire time.

To qualify as a ruck and be eligible for awards, you must carry a minimum of 30 pounds for men, and 20 pounds for women, not including water or food. We'll check packs at the start and finish, so make sure you meet the minimum weight requirement both before you take off and after you cross the finish line—no stashing your gear out on the course. Weighted vests are allowed, but any load bearing gear must be worn the entire time and not carried by hand.

If you would like to use less weight, that's fine but you not be eligible for awards.

    Trekking poles are allowed.

    Packet-Pickup/Check-In:

Race Headquarters will be located at the trailhead on Deer Park Road. Packet pickup will be Friday, March 13, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Tryathletics, 1605 Chapel Hill Rd, Columbia. Depending on the weather, we may be set up in parking lot. Packets will be available at the race site after 6:00 a.m. on race day. We strongly encourage you to pick up on Friday if possible. Join us for one of the most fun and unpredictable races of the year—the Sandbagger 8K!

    How it works:

Before the race, you’ll predict your finishing time. Runners start in staggered order based on those predictions. In theory, everyone finishes together—but this race tends to attract some very good liars 😉. The first runner to cross the finish line wins the race, earns bragging rights, and gets to add something to the 3-foot-tall traveling trophy which they keep until next year.
