The Heartbeat 5K helps support music programs in Harrisburg Schools, providing instruments, opportunities, and experiences for student musicians. Every step you take helps ensure that music continues to be the heartbeat of our schools and community.

After the race, stick around for post-race festivities, community vendors, and refreshments at the Harrisburg Spring Vendor Event at the Harrisburg Lion’s Club.

    Proceeds from Run with the Cops will go towards the statue for the Hallsville Veterans Memorial at Tribble Park. This memorial honors men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and provides a permanent place for our community to remember, reflect, and say thank you. When you run, you’re helping build a lasting tribute for generations to come.

    The 22nd Annual Tim Heinsz Memorial 5K & 10K Run/Walk, 14th Annual Jim Devine Dog Walk, & 8th Annual Bob Bailey Bike Ride honors three of Mizzou Law's most beloved deans. Tim Heinsz served as Dean of Mizzou Law and was an avid runner. Jim Devine served as Associate Dean and was a noted dog lover. Bob Bailey is an Assistant Dean Emeritus and a cycling enthusiast. All monies raised benefit the Timothy J. Heinsz Scholarship Fund.

    Event Details

    Location: The in-person race will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at Mizzou Law School, 820 Conley Ave, Columbia, MO 65211. The event will be held rain or shine.

    Packet Pickup: Specific times for packet pickup are 45 minutes prior to each event outside the law school.

    Race Day Registration: Online registration closes at 11:59pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. But you can still register the morning of the race! Volunteers will be stationed at the race location to sign up any late registrants. We will accept cash (please bring exact change), checks (made out to “University of Missouri School of Law Foundation” with “TH5K” in the memo line), or debit/credit card. Prices will be the same as they are marked online.

    Entertainment: Check back soon for more details regarding entertainment on race day.

    Please note: race-day registration ends 30 minutes before each respective event. See above for updated packet pickup times. Packet pickup will still begin 45 minutes before each event.

    Event Categories

    Tim Heinsz Memorial Competitive 5K/10K Run: This registration includes a timing chip, and your race time will be posted online. Registration includes an event t-shirt.

    $30/person

    Tim Heinsz Memorial "Just for Fun!" 5K/Walk: If you’re interested in participating in the race/walk without the added pressure of having your race time posted online, this is the option for you! This registration option will be listed in the results, with a symbolic time of 2004, in honor of Tim Heinsz. Participants of this division are not eligible for awards. Registration includes an event t-shirt.

    Bob Bailey 15K Bike Ride: Enjoy this non-competitive 15K bike ride. Registration includes an event t-shirt.

    $30/person

    Jim Devine Dog Walk: Enjoy a leisurely one-mile stroll with your furry friend. Don’t have a furry friend of your own? Not to worry. Walkers without dogs are welcome to join the fun, too. Each registration includes an event t-shirt.

    $20/person

    Kids Fun Run: Kids of all ages are invited to join in on the fun in their own short “race.” Each registration includes one kid-sized t-shirt.

    $15/child

    Team Race: Organizations within the law school and/or around the community are invited to run or walk the 5K as a team. Teams will consist of 5 people. $100/team. Registration includes t-shirts.

    Firm Race: Law firms are invited to run or walk the 5K as a team. Teams will consist of 5 people. $150/team. Registration includes t-shirts.

    The Annual Mizzou Ophthalmology 5K Run/Walk will be hosted by the University of Missouri’s Ophthalmology Department to support MedZou’s free clinic for underserved patients in Columbia, Missouri. The event is set to take place at Twin Lakes Recreation Area at the Twin Lakes Shelter on Sunday, April 18th, at 10:00 am. Participants are encouraged to arrive by 9:30 am for check-in. Following the race, participants are invited to stay for refreshments. Kids, pets, families are encouraged to attend! There will be games, food trucks, and more!

    Event Purpose: To raise funds for MedZou Community Health Clinic, which provides essential care to underserved populations in the Columbia area.

    Registration Details:

    Please register online by March 31st to reserve an official race t-shirt for the event. After this date, registration will still be available, but will not guarantee a race t-shirt.

    T-Shirt Pickup:

    Friday, April 10th, from 2:00-5:00 pm at the PCCLC Health Science Library.

    Or on the day of the race, April 18th, from 9:30-9:45 am.

    Donations:

    If you are unable to participate in the Run/Walk but would like to contribute, please click the "Donate" tab at the top of the website to make your contribution to Mizzou Ophthalmology’s MedZou fundraiser!

    Course Information:

    The course will follow the scenic MKT Trail to a turnaround point (1.55-mile mark) before returning along the same path to the finish line. A hydration station will be available at the turnaround point.

    CMU's annual Color Run will be on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The start time for both races is 3:00 p.m. We recommend arriving 15-30 minutes prior to the race.

    The pre-registration window will close Wednesday, April 22 at 12 p.m. Participants have the option to join the 5k run or 1 mile walk. Packet pickup will be in the Inman Plaza on April 23 and April 24 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Packet pickup will also be available starting one hour before the race on race day and closing 15 minutes before the race. Runners may still register at packet pickup or on race day, but might not receive a packet or T-shirt if supplies are out.

    The starting line will be located at Davis Field. Parking will be available in that lot.

    CMU student registration cost will be fully covered by SGA

    CMU faculty and staff pay their charity fee of $5

    Howard County residents: $10

    Everyone else: $15

    Kids (12 & under): $5

    $5 from every registration will go to one of the following charities:
