The Scouting America Half Marathon and 5K is the perfect tune up race for your fall racing. Ideally situated just a few weeks before the Garmin Marathon Series in Toledo, this is a great way to test
your nutrition and pace.
The half marathon enjoys a very flat route through the heart of a college downtown. This course scenery has it all -- Industrial, downtown, wooded bike paths, golf course neighborhood, and City Park.
Water stops are staffed by our area scout troops in uniform who thank you for supporting them.
The post race refreshment zone, sponsored by Southeastern Container, offers chocolate milk, fresh fruit, and more.
Finally, Scout Troops serve up a pancake breakfast for all, included with your registration.

Limited Registration is Available
The first 50 people to register will receive premium pricing. There is a limit of 30 people per wave.
Beer Mile Rules
Each competitor drinks four cans of beer and runs four laps (start - beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish).
Beer must be consumed before the lap is begun, within the transition area which is the 10 meter zone before the start/finish line.
The race begins with the drinking of the first beer in the last meter of the transition zone.
Women also drink four beers in four laps.
Competitors must drink canned beer and the cans should not be less than 355ml (the standard can volume) or 12oz (the imperial equivalent). The GAF Beer Mile will use Labatt Beer.
No specialized cans or bottles may be used that give an advantage by allowing the beer to pour at a faster rate. ie "super mega mouth cans" or "wide mouth bottles" are prohibited.
Beer cans must not be tampered with in any manner, ie. no shotgunning or puncturing of the can except for opening the can by the tab at the top.
Beer must be a minimum of 5% alcohol by volume.
Each beer can must not be opened until the competitor enters the transition zone on each lap.
Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete one penalty lap at the end of the race (immediately after the completion of their 4th lap). Note: Vomiting more than once during the race still requires only one penalty lap at the end. * It is strongly recommended, when attempting official records, to tip the empty beer can or bottle over your head at the end of a chug to verify an empty vessel.
