[AACo Epic PNG.png]
Anne Arundel County, Maryland is home to fun and challenging mountain bike trails in the Bacon Ridge Natural Area and Annapolis Waterworks Park. This year, MORE is breaking ground on trails in the Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park. The new 7 miles of trail in CHMP will provide not only additional options for trail users but also get us closer to having a unified trail system in the county. Annapolis was also recently designated as a Trail Town by the International Mountain Bicycling Association, in recognition of its commitments to developing and stewarding trail systems that strengthen community life.
What better way to celebrate these milestones than with an inaugural AACo Epic!
Experience the trails in Bacon Ridge, Annapolis Waterworks, and Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park through an epic ride! Choose from 20-, 30-, and 40-mile options that offer a fun challenge to riders of all skill levels.
We are grateful to have local bike shops supporting the event. Family Bike Shop will be at the start, providing mechanical support and snacks to take on the trail. Bike Doctor will be at three aid stations, making sure you have the fuel and mechanical support you need to complete your ride. Annapolis Velo will be leading a 20-mile group ride.
THE RIDES
The Sampler
20 miles, ~1750 feet of climbing
Two aid stations
The Sweet Spot
30 miles, ~2800 feet of climbing
Three aid stations
The Sizzler
40 miles, ~3,600 feet of climbing
Three aid stations
View and download routes. The courses will be unmarked, and participants are required to download the route to a GPS device if they are riding alone.
No bike computer? No problem! There will also be led ride options for all three routes. We'll be sharing more on the group rides soon.
REGISTRATION
Registration includes a downloadable route, access to aid stations, 1 meal ticket which you can exchange for a meal of your choice with our guest food truck, and 2 beverage tickets. Proceeds from the event go towards building, maintaining, and advocating for trails in Anne Arundel County.
Life happens. If you need to cancel your registration, full refunds are available until two weeks before the event. Partial refund (50%) is available until July 9 at 5PM, after which all sales are final. In case of event cancellation because of adverse weather, BikeReg will issue a refund through its Event Cancellation Refund Protection program which MORE has opted into.

The 6.4 mile West Side Quarry is the third race in the FXBG Trail Series. Similar to the 5k, runners will start along the Beach trail next to the Rappahannock River — familiar terrain to those of you in the series.
Midway through, the course delivers its defining feature: one main climb that asks you to dig a little deeper. It’s steady and honest — enough to get your heart rate up and your legs working — but manageable with smart pacing. Crest the top, and you’re rewarded with a sense of accomplishment and a renewed stride.
The later miles roll and weave through a series of undulating hills, keeping things playful and engaging all the way to the finish. With a total elevation gain of 426 feet, this race offers a balanced challenge — approachable yet dynamic — perfect for runners who enjoy a mix of flow, focus, and just the right amount of grit.
The swim takes place in the Riverside Gardens 25 meter pool. The Riverside Gardens course may be the fastest and flattest course in our series. The bike course does have seven turns (one turnaround) per loop, so it is a bit more technical than the Stratford course. The run is an out and back on Buckboard sidewalk.
Let's GLOW! This is a family-friendly, fun-filled EVENING race through Jefferson Patterson Park. Come early for the Finish-line Festival featuring lawn games, food trucks, and local beer & wine vendors, then stay late for the black-light DJ Dance Party. It's going to be lit!
Come out and enjoy this scenic half & 5k in the heart of Georgetown near the Nation’s Capital. Both events run on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path, however the Half Marathon begins/ends in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club while the 5K begins/ends at Fletcher’s Boat House.

Come enjoy the shaded, scenic trails at Locust Shade Park.
