OUR MISSION
The Junior League of Hampton Roads, Incorporated (JLHR) is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
ABOUT US
For over 65 years, the JLHR has been training our members to become community leaders through our mission-based programs that better the lives of women and families in the Hampton Roads community. Our all-volunteer leadership and workforce are able to triple the impact of our donors' dollars, which are used to train leaders, contribute to the future success of our community, and make real-time improvements to Hampton Roads.
Just in time for Christmas, this thrilling two-loop course invites runners and walkers alike to wind through campus and the woods behind Peninsula Catholic High School, all decked out in Christmas lights and full of holiday cheer. Best of all, 100% of registration profits (after costs) will be donated to charity.
But which charity? A number of teams will be competing for a grand prize: the right to choose which charity will receive 50% of the race registration profits. No matter what, the other 50% of race profits (and donations) will go straight to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. You don't have to be a part of a team to race, walk, or donate. We encourage participants of every skill level to come out and participate, build community, and make a positive impact!
The race is hosted PCYT, a club with a mission to teach teenagers that community service and acts of kindness can be fun. To see examples of their good work like helping the police clean up a beach, packing lunches to feed the homeless, or donating a car to refugees, check out their YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@peninsulacatholicyoutube
