Welcome to the Seize the Day Warrior Walk in Baton Rouge!

We are Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana (EAL), the oldest epilepsy organization in the state, dedicated to supporting people living with epilepsy through direct services, education, and advocacy. Since 1977, we have provided essential community services across Louisiana, reaching thousands of individuals impacted by epilepsy. Our mission is to assist those affected by epilepsy within their communities by addressing the broad spectrum of challenges seizures can bring.

We are excited to host our 22nd Annual Seize the Day event on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This is our biggest fundraising event, dedicated to supporting people with epilepsy. For over 20 years, we’ve featured a 1-mile run/walk, which is now called the "Warrior Walk." To better align with our mission and to honor the strength and courage of those affected by epilepsy, the Warrior Walk will now be a walk-only event and will not be timed.

In addition, we’re keeping our traditional 5K race, a special part of this event for many years. By participating in either the Warrior Walk or the 5K, you’ll help raise vital funds for our programs and services while enjoying a fun and inclusive atmosphere.

This year, Baton Rouge will offer both the Warrior Walk and the 5K, while other cities will host the Warrior Walk only. This shift will help us expand epilepsy awareness and grow our community support in more Louisiana cities, including Youngsville and New Orleans. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 2026 will bring the Warrior Walk to Shreveport!!

Be part of this important event and help us make a difference. Register now and show your support!

Welcome to Chix/Kidz triathlon weekend. We are excited about for our 4th year at Pointe Marie. We will have chip timing m. Results will be for start/finish and will not include splits but will allow for us to determine awards for each division. We will award 1st/2nd/3rd Male and Female for Falcons, Sputniks, Apollo, and Saturn. We use AGE ON RACE DAY TO DETERMINE DIVISIONS. Additionally, if your child is in a "Beginner division" 10 minutes will be added to their time to determine eligibility for awards in their division. Beginner divisions are for racers that require the assistance of a parent and/or flotation devices and/or training wheels.

Kidz is for racers ages 3-14 yrs old (based on their age on RACE DAY). Your child's age tells you what division they race in (Falcon/Sputnik/Apollo/Saturn) and their division tells you how far they have to go to complete each leg of the race.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: NO REFUNDS. We purchase supplies/goodies for this race well in advance of the event and cannot offer refunds. Racers can transfer their entry to another racer as long as there is availability for that division. Transfers are allowed until 7/15/26. Use the "Contact Us" link to get assistance with a transfer.

This race will not be rescheduled. The cancellation of this event is at the discretion of race directors. Cancellation will occur if thunder or lightning is present in the area. We will do everything in our power to allow the event to take place, but we will not compromise the safety of our little racers. Cancellation is done on the morning of the event from the race site. We may delay the start if needed to accommodate a storm in the area.

For 15 years, the Louisiana Marathon has been more than just a race; it's a vibrant, culturally rich festival that embodies the spirit of Louisiana. We've always believed that every journey starts with a single step, and for our 15th anniversary, we invite you to "Start Starting" your own memorable experience.

Just like Louisiana's legendary festivals, we celebrate the incredible food, music, and dancing that make our state unique. The Louisiana Marathon adds the thrill of running to this mix, creating an unforgettable weekend. Join us for a fast, flat, and fun racecourse, followed by a true Louisiana Festival featuring local musicians, cold beer, and the best Southern cuisine.

Established in 2012, our mission remains twofold: to inspire our community to embrace an active lifestyle and to create a premier winter road race known for its unique blend of running and Louisiana culture. Held annually on Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend in Baton Rouge, our multi-race format offers something for everyone: Marathon (26.2 miles), Half Marathon (13.1 miles), Window World Louisiana Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) & 5K (3.1 miles), and the Louisiana Blue Kid's Marathon (1 mile).

Experience the picturesque roadways of Baton Rouge, from downtown to the University Lakes, the LSU campus, and historic neighborhoods, cheered on by enthusiastic friends, family, and spectators. This 15th anniversary is a celebration of "lagniappe" – that little something extra that makes Louisiana special. Come "Start Starting" your journey with us!
