Welcome to the Seize the Day Warrior Walk in Baton Rouge!

We are Epilepsy Alliance Louisiana (EAL), the oldest epilepsy organization in the state, dedicated to supporting people living with epilepsy through direct services, education, and advocacy. Since 1977, we have provided essential community services across Louisiana, reaching thousands of individuals impacted by epilepsy. Our mission is to assist those affected by epilepsy within their communities by addressing the broad spectrum of challenges seizures can bring.

We are excited to host our 22nd Annual Seize the Day event on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This is our biggest fundraising event, dedicated to supporting people with epilepsy. For over 20 years, we’ve featured a 1-mile run/walk, which is now called the "Warrior Walk." To better align with our mission and to honor the strength and courage of those affected by epilepsy, the Warrior Walk will now be a walk-only event and will not be timed.

In addition, we’re keeping our traditional 5K race, a special part of this event for many years. By participating in either the Warrior Walk or the 5K, you’ll help raise vital funds for our programs and services while enjoying a fun and inclusive atmosphere.

This year, Baton Rouge will offer both the Warrior Walk and the 5K, while other cities will host the Warrior Walk only. This shift will help us expand epilepsy awareness and grow our community support in more Louisiana cities, including Youngsville and New Orleans. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 2026 will bring the Warrior Walk to Shreveport!!

Be part of this important event and help us make a difference. Register now and show your support!

We can't wait for another Rocketkidz Rookies Triathlon! Swimming, biking, and running, oh my! Rocketkidz Rookies Triathlon is an event specially designed to introduce children ages 3-10 to the sport of triathlon.

3-4 yr olds: swim 15 yds, bike 1/4 mile, run 100 yds. ONE parent may accompany the child on the course.

5-6 yr olds: swim 25 yds, bike 1/2 mile, run 1/4 mile.

7-10 yr olds: swim 25 yds, bike 1 mile, run 1/2 mile.

Training wheels are acceptable for all ages. Please ensure your child's bike is in good working order prior to the event.

We've got non-swimmer divisions where a child can use flotation devices. It is short, it is fun, it is a great way for your child to play and be a triathlete.

Cancellation/Refund Policy: NO REFUNDS. NO TRANSFERS. We purchase supplies/goodies for this race well in advance of the event and cannot offer refunds. Racers cannot give their race entries to another person to race (liability issue). All RKF events benefit the Foundation, so even if you cannot race your entry fees are going to fantastic programming!

This race will not be rescheduled. The cancellation of this event is at the discretion of race directors. The race may start during light rain. Cancellation will occur if thunder or lightning is present in the area. We will do everything in our power to allow the event to take place, but we will not compromise the safety of our little racers.

    Course Description

Our Rookies Race will take place at Manship YMCA. The swim takes place in the pool. The bike takes place on the campus around the Y completely closed to traffic. The run will be in the grassy area around the ball field.

The race distances are approximate and allow for safest course we can muster on the roads and sidewalks. The focus of this event is to present triathlon to the children in a way that gets them motivated to stay active and, hopefully, consider participating in runs and bikes and swims .... and any other physical activity.
