    The Race for Restoration is a 5k run/Walk hosted by Perfect Timing Race Management LLC, promoted by the BHSN Environmental Club, and held at Bloomington High School North, with all proceeds benefiting the Sycamore Land Trust.

    The course is well-marked for first-timers, beginning beside the bleachers of the Bloomington High School North track and field facility, then continuing on Kinser Pike, Acuff Road loop, and Prow Rd. before utilizing the main road on the Bloomington North campus, with the final 300 meters finish on the Ralph Sieboldt Track.

    The Race Date is April 4, 2026.

    -Packet pick-up begins at 7:30 am.

    -Kids' 1 Mile Fun Run begins at 8:30 am.

    -5k Run/Walk Begins at 9 am.

    No after-race waiting! Every racer will recieve a completion medal, excluding virtual racers. Awards can be picked up at the registration table as soon as you finish your race! Awards will be given to the winner of each age group. Age Group Awards are divided into Male and Female categories, and age groups are as follows:

    Run: Winner in 10 & Under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & Over

    Walk: Top 3 overall

    Sycamore Land Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1990 that is dedicated to preserving the beauty, health, and diversity of southern Indiana’s natural landscape through strategic land conservation, habitat restoration, and environmental education. Across our 26-county service area, we have permanently protected over 11,800 acres on more than 150 protected properties. Our organization is nationally accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission for meeting rigorous standards of conservation excellence. We restore critical habitats like wetlands, forests, wildflower meadows, and grasslands that support native wildlife and provide a refuge for threatened species. Thirteen of our preserves are open to the public, where we maintain over 30 miles of free hiking trails, offering outdoor recreation opportunities for all ages and abilities.     BHSN Environmental Club is a student-led group, who cares deeply about the environment. Many of us are also student athletes, so we thought we could marry those two passions to benefit the Sycamore Land Trust -- an organization which continues to benefit our local environment and community in so many ways. We're excited to be partnering with Perfect Timing Race Management LLC in this inaugural year of the Race for Restoration 5K and we hope to see you there!

    About Perfect Timing Race Management LLC:

    Perfect Timing is a Race Management and Timing Service that manages and times races mainly in south central Indiana. The primary goal of our services is to provide a low-cost computerized timing option for road races and cross-country races that are 500 people and under per race. We do not chip time which keeps costs down and helps you keep more money for the cause that you are partnered with.

    Join us a this new venue to the DINO Series! The Pate Hollow Trail, adjacent to Paynetown SRA, offers lovely views and challenging terrain. The single-lap 15k will certainly provide one of the more remote and rugged feeling courses in the entire series.

    Gate Fee: Standard DNR gate fee of $7/vehicle ($9 out-of-state) may be charged. If you run the series and/or visit state parks frequently, consider purchasing the Annual Entrance Permit ($50 for IN residents)

    This is the Main fundraiser for the Mag 7 Race Series! Registering for this race helps the Mag 7 support other local races and encourage participation in running and walking events. As a "thank you" for supporting the Series, everyone who REGISTERS for this race (even if you don't end up participating) will receive 10 bonus points in the Mag 7 Series Competition!

    9:00-9:50AM: Race packet pick up and day of race registration.

    • Karst Farm Park, 2450 S. Endwright Rd Bloomington, IN. Registration is at Shelter 9, by the splash pad parking lot.

    • $25 with shirt (Not guaranteed after March 21)

    • $20 without a shirt

    10:00am: Run/Walk Start: The race starts near the southern terminus of the Karst Farm Greenway Trail and is an out and back route on the trail. It is relatively flat with a few small rolling hills.

    AFTER THE RACE: Snacks and Drinks. Awards to top finishers. Door prize drawing.

    Awards will be given to...

    • OVERALL male and female finishers in the runner division

    • Top FIVE male and female finishers in the WALK

    • Top male and female runner in each AGE DIVISION: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59,60-64, 65-69, 70 & over

    All race proceeds go directly to the MAG 7 RACE SERIES; this race is the sole fundraiser for the Mag 7!
