One mile. You can do it! Maybe it's been since gym class in High School, or maybe you just want to rip a fast one. Well this is the event for you.
We'll have thousands of people out lining the course and making this event one of the most special running races of the year. There will be free beer, cookies, and as always one of the best swag packages of any race.
The events will start roughly at 6pm and unfortunately there is a strict 15 minute cut off due to the condensed schedule of the bike races. The event is open to anyone that can run under that time.

Tent campers should go to Picnic Area #5 and setup their tents in the designated camping area.
RV campers, should go to Picnic Area #3 and #4 and park in the parking lot. No Parking on Grass.
We will have staff at the park directing all campers to their location starting Friday afternoon as well as on Saturday.

Join us for a 5K Run, 1 Mile Walk and Kids Dash on the main runways and taxiways at Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling, Illinois. The 5K course is USATF Certified, and chip timed. Hang out after your event for podium awards, music, food, giveaways and kids' activities. Plus keep an eye out for princess and superhero guest appearances through the morning!
Strollers and wagons are welcome. No pets are allowed.
In case of inclement weather, a cancellation call will be made by 8:30AM on event day. This is a fundraising event with proceeds benefiting local aviation scholarships. As a result, no refunds will be issued, and the event will not be rescheduled.

Run Today for Tomorrow's 7th annual 5K is back, and as of December of 2025, Run Today for Tomorrow, Inc. is officially a 501c3!!
All proceeds will stay in the community and provide financial assistance to community members in getting the help they need as well as a mental health scholarship for local students in the Mental Health field of study. We are partnered with the Starved Rock Country Community Foundation to make this happen. The goal of Run Today for Tomorrow, Inc. is to bring hope and provide help to those affected by suicide. We're running today because we believe in a Tomorrow where everyone is here to see it☀️

This 10K Run, 5K Walk & Run, and Virtual Race "Celebrates the Hearts and Soles of Organ and Tissue Donation" by honoring deceased donors and their families, living donors, transplant recipients, first responders, healthcare workers, and caregivers.
Proceeds support the Maddog Strong Foundation's work to educate teens and young adults about the life-saving need to register as organ and tissue donors. By encouraging young people to have a conversation with their families about their decision, we aim to inspire the next generation of organ and tissue advocates!

Our beloved free marathon build up program for the Lakefront Marathon (or similarly timed Fall marathons/half marathons) is the result of a great team of volunteers. The runs start at 6 miles and build up over 12-13 weeks to 22 miles increasing by just two miles per week. Volunteers are needed to set up and staff aid stations for program participants - consider signing up to help!

TRIPLE CROWN CHALLENGE FAQ:
What races are included? Hub Run (April 11), Brickyard Run (June 27), Run for the Hills (Oct 10)
Age Discounts for Triple Crown Challenge? The system will not allow it and it's cheaper to sign-up kids for the individual races :-)
Must be the same runner for all races? Yes, permits the same runner one entry to the Hub Run, the Brickyard Run and Run for the Hills race. You got this!
When do I get my shirts/bibs? Shirts and Bibs will be distributed at each individual race packet pick-up. We love to see your face :-)
Refunds? Like all of our races, no refunds will be issued if a runner is unable to run a race. The proceeds go to support the YMCA Income-Based Scholarship, so you're doing a good thing...even if you miss one of the races :-) All payments are final.

RACE ROUTE
This year our race will be located at Hobart Middle School 36 E 8th St, Hobart, IN 46342.
Start on 8th Street heading East, turn left on Water Street, Turn right on E. 7th St., Turn right on Lake Street ; turn right on 8th St and head into Oak savannah Trail, out and back on Oak Savannah Trail and finish on Lake Park Ave at Kate Corgan Field, both the 5K & 5 Mile race will begin and end at the same points; the 5K and 5 Mile run do have different distance turn around points on the Oak Savannah Trail.

To be guaranteed a t-shirt by race day, registration must be received by May 31st. If you register after this date, you may not receive your shirt until after the race. If that is the case, you will receive an email notification with a date and time to pick up your shirt.
The Save-A-Pet Furry Friends 5K & 6-Legged Walk will take place rain or shine! However, in the case of severe weather, the live event will be cancelled for safety reasons. If the decision is made to cancel, an update will be posted on the Save-A-Pet Website, Save-A-Pet Facebook Page, as well as the 2026 Furry Friends 5K Race Event Page and 2026 Furry Friends 5K Facebook Event page. You will also have the option to be partially refunded to match the virtual and live walk registration fee, or donate the refund amount to Save-A-Pet and our animals. If you registered for the either the virtual or live walk, no refund will be provided.

This division is designed for first‑time triathletes and young kids building confidence in a fun, supportive environment. All segments take place on short, fully supervised routes with plenty of volunteers to guide athletes every step of the way. The focus is on participation, safety, and celebrating every child’s finish.

Overview
Older youth athletes take on a course that encourages goal‑setting and personal achievement.
