Independence Day Run

The Horning Hawks Run is a fun, feel-good community event honoring the history and legacy of Horning Middle School—and it’s open to current and former students, staff, families, and community members.

Held on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Horning Middle School / Banting Park in Waukesha, the event features age-based options so everyone can join in:

• Half Mile for grades 1–5 (9:00 AM)

• Middle/High School 3K for grades 6–12 (9:15 AM)

• Open 3K Hawk Walk/Run for college-aged participants and adults (9:45 AM).

Proceeds support Horning Track & Field and PBIS

The Procrastination Run 🏃‍♂️⏳

Why do today what you can do... well, right now? Whether you’ve been putting off your training, waiting to sign up, or just need a fun excuse to lace up your running shoes, the Procrastination Run is for you!

This lighthearted, no-pressure event is perfect for runners, walkers, and everyone in between. It's a chance to finally check "go for a run" off your to-do list—no more excuses!

Event Highlights:

• Distance Options: 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon

• No Stress, Just Fun: Whether you’re racing or strolling, we’re here to celebrate the fact that you finally made it out!

🏃‍♂️ Tombstone Trot – Celebrate 177 Years of Prairie Home Cemetery 🏃‍♀️

Join Prairie Home Cemetery & Silver Circle Sports Events for the Tombstone Trot, a unique run/walk through history! Prairie Home Cemetery is celebrating its 177th anniversary, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Prairie Home Cemetery, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing the cemetery. Funds raised this year will go toward installing a monument and flagpole in the newer Veterans section of the cemetery. Thank you for your support!

Experience a one-of-a-kind run/walk through the beautiful, tree-lined, historic grounds of Prairie Home Cemetery. The course meanders past scenic landscapes, offering a peaceful and reflective atmosphere, especially with the stunning fall colors—be sure to check out the course video! 🍂🍁

The start/finish line is a sight to behold, lined with American flags 🇺🇸, creating a truly memorable experience from beginning to end.
