The Bloomfield Apple Festival 5K Run/Walk is a major fundraiser for the Shawnee Theatre. Every year sponsors help support this event not just to financially support the Shawnee Theatre but for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle for members of the community. Rain or shine, the race will be through the streets of Bloomfield on October 4, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

Online registration will be open the morning of the race.

    The annual running of the Erin's Purpose 5k. Erin’s Purpose was founded in June 2018 by Terri Neighbors after her daughter, Erin, took her life at the age of 13. In August 2020, a house was purchased in Bloomfield where the following services are offered:

    • Christian Counseling

    • Teen bible studies

    • A place for teen gatherings or small groups to meet

    • Public speaking in schools and other organizations about mental health and suicide prevention.

    Awards will be given out for female and male age groups of all ages. Competitive walk awards will be given to overall male and female winner. All participants of the kids race will receive an award. There will also be giveaways at the event.

Route options through forest and meadows at Fowler Pumpkin Patch include a 5K trail run and 1 mile or 1.5 mile Family Run routes. The trail has a combination of mowed field paths, dirt, and gravel and has several small hills. Proceeds from the event benefit early childhood education in the community through the Bloomington Montessori Early Childhood Scholarship Fund and combat food insecurity with Mother Hubbard's Cupboard. Get in a great run/walk, connect with friends, and help our community thrive by registering today!

    Bloomington Montessori School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving 234 children ages 3-12 in Monroe County since 1968.

    Annual Worthington Waddle 5K Run/Walk. Hosted by Tri Kappa. Part of the Mag 7. All proceeds to benefit Worthington Tri Kappa's charities. Packet pick-up and new registrations will start at 8:00am at the park in the Community Building. Race will kick off at 9:00am for both runners and walkers. If you would like a t-shirt, you need to be registered no later than November 9, 2025. After that date, the shirts will be available while supplies last. You also have the option to not get a t-shirt. If you would not like a t-shirt, your entry fee will be discounted $5.00.

    After the race, we will have doughnuts, hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee, and fruit for all race participants. Top male and female walkers and runners will win a turkey. Walkers must walk the whole race to be eligible for a turkey. The person with the "hammiest" costume wins a prize too!
