The Eden Prairie Optimist Club's 12th OK 5K walk/run is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Purgatory Creek Park, 13001 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie. Major sponsors of the 5k include the Eden Prairie Optimist Club and the city of Eden Prairie. Sponsors also include Brandpoint, HealthSource of Eden Prairie. Proceeds go to the community programs of the Optimists, including the Valleyfair trip for local Elementary School Patrols, Essay and Oratorical contests, Central Middle School Youth Appreciation and more. The Eden Prairie Optimist Club is a civic organization with an emphasis on programs that benefit and recognize the youth of Eden Prairie. The Going Bananas Run is the first-of-its-kind fun run where your speed can raise money for charity. Each racer receives their very own banana suit to run in as you make your way through an exciting Twin Cities course. You’d better split though, because after 2 minutes we release “The Gorilla.” “The Gorilla” is our inside man; boy, does he love chasing bananas. Those who beat the gorilla to the finish receive a special prize, and money will be donated to Gold Together for Childhood Cancer. Do you have what it takes to beat “The Gorilla”?

Lake Rebecca Triathlon is located just 30 miles west of downtown Minneapolis at Lake Rebecca Park Reserve in Rockford, MN. Lake Rebecca is part of the Three Rivers Park District, and provides a beautiful backdrop for a great day of racing and spectating. There are many reasons why Lake Rebecca has continued to be such a popular destination for a triathlon: a clear, clean non-motorboat lake, low traffic county roads with wide shoulders, a beautiful run in the shade of mature trees, parking close to transition and lots of room to roam for spectators and families.

All abilities are welcome to join us, and we look forward to seeing you at Lake Rebecca Triathlon in July!

Gear Western Country Half Marathon & Borton Volvo 5k

The Gear Western Country Half Marathon and Borton Volvo 5k is a small town event with a big time feel. Our course offers you a taste of Minnesota with quiet country roads, rolling hills, lakes, and crushed limestone trails.

After finishing, linger for some unique western themed post race refreshments, and of course awards! We will be hanging out, having fun, and cheering on every participant.
