The Going Bananas Run is the first-of-its-kind fun run where your speed can raise money for charity. Each racer receives their very own banana suit to run in as you make your way through an exciting Twin Cities course. You’d better split though, because after 2 minutes we release “The Gorilla.” “The Gorilla” is our inside man; boy, does he love chasing bananas. Those who beat the gorilla to the finish receive a special prize, and money will be donated to Gold Together for Childhood Cancer. Do you have what it takes to beat “The Gorilla”?

• 60m Burpee Broad Jump

• 50m Sled Push - Men: 225lb, Women: 185lb

• 50m Sled Pull - Men: 185lb, Women: 135lb

• 500m Ski

• 100m Farmers Carry - Men: 24kg , Women: 16kg

• 50m double dumbell walking lunge - Men: 2 - 20lb db's, Women: 2 - 10lb db's

• 50 wallballs - Men: 14lb , Women: 9lb

Partner Division - Early bird: $190 per team. After July 3: $220 per team

Official Men's, Women's and Mixed division standards apply. Partners will run together and split up the work stations however they would like.

Gear Western Country Half Marathon & Borton Volvo 5k

Saturday, October 10th, 2026

The Gear Western Country Half Marathon and Borton Volvo 5k is a small town event with a big time feel. Our course offers you a taste of Minnesota with quiet country roads, rolling hills, lakes, and crushed limestone trails.

After finishing, linger for some unique western themed post race refreshments, and of course awards! We will be hanging out, having fun, and cheering on every participant.
