The South Fulton Run Club was founded on March 13, 2025 in the City of South Fulton, GA. We’re not just a run club, we’re a movement. Every mile matters. Every step counts. Every runner belongs. Whether you’re lacing up for the first time or chasing a new PR, you’ve got a crew that’s got your back.

SFRC is pleased to host its Inaugural Run the Block 5K. This event is designed to bring people together through movement while raising funds to support the ongoing programs and initiatives of South Fulton Run Club. Proceeds from the race will directly support our mission to make fitness accessible, inclusive, and impactful within our community.

The Inaugural 5K Run/Walk will be May 30, 2026, starting at 8 AM, with the race beginning at Sandtown Plaza.

Registration and packet pickup will on held on race morning. Credit or debit card only please.

TIME LIMIT: 5K - 1 hour and 20 minutes. Any participant still on the course after the time limit is reached will be asked to vacate the course.

TIMING: The timing device for this event is RFID timing by Elite Race Timing. To receive an accurate time, please confirm that your bib is:

Clearly visible on the front of the torso

Unaltered and unmodified (not folded or wrinkled)

Pinned in all four corners

Uncovered (jackets, fuel belts, etc.)

Results are published live within a few minutes of finishing.

REFUND POLICY: All registrations are final and non-transferable.

The race is held on Juneteenth to commemorate the holiday and bring awareness to the overall health benefits of physical activity and mental wellness, specifically in underserved communities.

    The Metropolitan 5k is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier!

    All proceeds from The Metropolitan 5k go towards programming and executing some of our most impactful programs such as the Back 2 School Drive and Holiday Giveback with Atlanta Public School students. Both E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness and Cause of E.F.F.E.C.T have transformed the lives of many children and adults through fitness and service and your contribution continues to help us push our missions forward.

    AWARDS:

    Awards are given for the overall male and female finisher, and top male and female finisher in each age group.

    Awards winners are based on NET TIME. Only TIMED runners can qualify for awards.

    Race Rules:

    • To ensure all race participants safety, participants should run inside the coned path only

    • All participants must be checked in with their bib's by 6am. NO EXCEPTIONS

    • The Metropolitan 5k is open to all ages and fitness levels

    • The Metropolitan 5k is open to participants ages 15 and older

    • All race participants acknowledge the family friendly atmosphere of the event and agree to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them

    • Only registered participants with a bib number are able to run the race

    • The Metropolitan 5k team, E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness staff, and Officers of The City of Atlanta reserve the right to remove or exclude any participant from the days events for reasons deemed necessary

    Transportation & Parking:

    • Carpooling is highly recommended

    • There is NO Parking at E.F.F.E.C.T Fitness on Race Day

    • Parking is available at Metro Lane Fun Center on a first come, first serve basis

    VIRTUAL RACE:

    • The virtual option allows you to run or walk anywhere, even indoors on a treadmill, at your own convenience. Please note we do encourage you to participate with us so you will have the weekend to submit your times.

    • Complete the 5k on your own time and at your preferred location.

    • You can submit your virtual race results and photos via the race registration website.

    • You will receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal after the event.

This organization comprises a dynamic group of college-educated individuals worldwide. The establishment of this chapter marks a significant milestone for the fraternity’s mission of achievement and service. We are super excited about entering our second year of community impact.

    SFAC is pleased to host its 2nd Annual Dreamers of Achievement 5K Run/Walk. This pivotal fundraiser will support scholarships, mentorships, and community engagement initiatives. It will also connect health-conscious individuals, thus introducing our chapter's commitment to health and wellness.

    The 2nd Annual Dreamers of Achievement 5K Run/Walk will be June 20, 2026, starting at 8 AM, with the race beginning at Jess Lucas Park and ending slightly before Jess Lucas Park.

    Registration will be available via QR code at packet pickup and on race morning. Credit or debit card only please.

    Your support will help ensure the beginning of valuable initiatives and opportunities for the South Fulton community and neighbors.

    The 46th Annual Sickle Cell Road Race is scheduled for September 5, 2026, in East Point, Georgia. This longstanding event, which is a Peachtree Road Race qualifying event and is USATF certified, serves as a crucial fundraiser and community gathering to support individuals affected by sickle cell disease. Participants can look forward to the 5K race/walk starting at 9:00 a.m. in front of East Point City Hall. Proceeds from the event benefit Camp New Light, a weeklong camp for children and teens living with sickle cell disease.

    The price for ages 18 and older is $45, 7-17 is $35, and 6 & under is free.

    PARKING:

    · Riding MARTA is one of the most convenient ways to travel to the race. East Point is on the Red and Gold Lines. This station has a local MARTA bus service. Once off the public transportation, go ahead through the pedestrian walkway to East Point City Hall.

    · Riding UBER and Lyft are also options. Have your ride, drop you off in front of East Point City Hall, 2757 E Point St, East Point, Georgia.

    · The city of East Point will allow road race participants to park at city-owned lots. One location is behind their customer care center, next to (old) East Point City Hall at 2791 East Point Street. Another parking location is the East Point Commons area, 2728/2836/2750 and 2768 East Point Street.

    · There is plenty of on-street parking near East Point City Hall. On-street parking options include the streets of Linwood Avenue, West Cleveland Avenue, McGee Way, and nearby neighborhood streets. Please do not block driveways and mailboxes when parking on the street.
